Trump’s Bold Call to NATO for Unified Sanctions on Russia Is Really a TACO

Please consider Trump’s letter to the world.

Truth Social Letter to the World

A LETTER SENT BY PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP TO ALL NATO NATIONS AND, THE WORLD: “I am ready to do major Sanctions on Russia when all NATO Nations have agreed, and started, to do the same thing, and when all NATO Nations STOP BUYING OIL FROM RUSSIA. As you know, NATO’S commitment to WIN has been far less than 100%, and the purchase of Russian Oil, by some, has been shocking! It greatly weakens your negotiating position, and bargaining power, over Russia. Anyway, I am ready to “go” when you are. Just say when? I believe that this, plus NATO, as a group, placing 50% to 100% TARIFFS ON CHINA, to be fully withdrawn after the WAR with Russia and Ukraine is ended, will also be of great help in ENDING this deadly, but RIDICULOUS, WAR. China has a strong control, and even grip, over Russia, and these powerful Tariffs will break that grip. This is not TRUMP’S WAR (it would never have started if I was President!), it is Biden’s and Zelenskyy’s WAR. I am only here to help stop it, and save thousands of Russian and Ukrainian lives (7,118 lives lost last week, alone. CRAZY!). If NATO does as I say, the WAR will end quickly, and all of those lives will be saved! If not, you are just wasting my time, and the time, energy, and money of the United States. Thank you for your attention to this matter! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”

You First

The NATO response is seemingly easy: You first, for 3 months.

The only problem with my proposal is there is no unified voice speaking for all the NATO countries. Trump knows NATO cannot do what he says. This is Trump’s cop-out.

Leaders Lead, Headless Chickens and Bluffers Don’t

Leaders lead by example. They don’t shout at the top of their lungs, you first.

His Truth Social Post is really just a TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out).

Trump has threatened Putin a dozen times this year and Putin spit in Trump’s face. Now Trump demands NATO to do what he has threatened.

There are 32 NATO countries and Trump wants all of them to act before he does.

None of them have any reason to believe Trump would hold up his end of the deal. Indeed, no country can possibly believe anything Trump says at all after he unilaterally scrapped his own USMCA deal.

Trust Is Gone

Trust in the US ended the moment Trump scrapped USMCA. It was his own treaty, passing the Senate 89-10. Trump bragged about USMCA for years.

Then suddenly Trump demanded more from Mexico and Canada. The same thing is happening with every alleged “deal” in this term, none of which has been signed by any country.

What a pathetic hoot.

Comments of the Day

  • CHINA SHOULD OPEN UP ITS MARKET TO USA — WOULD BE SO GOOD FOR THEM!!! CLOSED MARKETS DON’T WORK ANYMORE!!!
  • 80% Tariff on China seems right! Up to Scott B.

Irony of the Year

CLOSED MARKETS DON’T WORK ANYMORE!!!

No one has tried harder than Trump to make the US an island.

He wants production here, massive tariffs to stop imports, tariffs to balance the budget, and now he says an “80 percent tariff on China seems right”.

Now Trump wants 100 percent tariffs. But only if 32 countries act first.

Open Market

The US had a beautifully, nearly open market with Canada and Mexico until Trump came along and ruined it.

Please read over and over Cheese Was a “Key Achievement” of Trump’s USMCA Trade Agreement

The above post contains over a dozen instances in which Trump bragged what a great deal.

It was such a great deal that Trump thanked Mexico and Canada. Notably USMCA is “Good for everybody – Farmers, Manufacturers, Energy, Unions – tremendous support. Importantly, we will finally end our Country’s worst Trade Deal, NAFTA!”

Good deal or not (and I think it was a very good deal for the US), the fact of the matter is Trump has no legitimate right to unilaterally break a deal ratified by the Senate 89-10.

Trump is trying hard to make the US an island after admitting closed markets don’t work.

Attacks on the Weak

Notice how Trump attacks the weak. After repeatedly threatening Russia with severe consequences, Trump did nothing.

It feels like 2/3 of the comments on this were written by Mike F***ing Pompeo. Get outta here, Pompeo. Fat or skinny you’ll never be president. And take Nikki Haley with you.

And your comment had 2 downvotes to 1 upvote. It is startling that the comment population here has apparently become evil

Pompeo remember was the one telling Iowa delegates at the GOP convention the day Trump was shot that he was going to be Vice President. Because as the lying scumbag head of the evil enemy of America CIA, he KNEW they were going to kill Trump. Oops Mikey. They failed. So Nikki Haley is NOT going to be the GOP Presidential Candidate and you are not going to be VP Mikey

Correct. And they only activated Crooks once it became known that Trump was choosing Vance as his VP pick. If Trump could have been trusted to pick Haley (to “bring the party together”), they would have assassinated Trump after he’d been inaugurated. They thought they had all bases covered: If Biden (or Harris) won, they would have someone controlled by the Military Industrial Complex. If Haley ascended to the presidency after newly-inaugurated Trump were assassinated, they would also have someone owned by the MIC. Heads I win, tails you lose. But the coin landed on its edge when Crooks missed.

My god. He is doing this so that he need not do something as idiotic as imposing sanctions on everyone who does business with Russia

The problem is our Congress is filled with traitors and idiots, more than 90%

He is threatened by this huge congressional morass of lunacy if he doesnt threaten Russia.

But the CORRECT course of action is to do nothing, and to cut off Ukraine to end the war that the US and its NATO “allies” (they are all enemies not allies) started against Russia with the CIA puppet George Bushes strategically moronic declaration in Budapest I believe in 2008 that Georgia and Ukraine would join NATO

Only one real question…. Is this because:

  1. Trump genuinely cares about Putin and the opportunities a better relationship can bring him personally.
  2. Putin has something on him that is worse than peeing on a bed. For example it could be Epstein video evidence provided by Mark Dougan, when he defected to Russia – that would do it.

Mark Dougan was a Palm Beach deputy at the time of the Epstein investigations there. He claimed to have video evidence but this has not been independently confirmed. He did however defect and was granted assylum by Russia.

The way Trump clapped Putin coming down the carpet in Alaska implies #1 (you wouldn’t clap somebody who was blackmailing you) – but who knows. Also I think that it would be difficult to keep #2 secret from CIA/MI6 who would surely try to neutralise it.

FTAOD – I am not saying that #2 has any basis – there simply isn’t any evidence.

In some ways that makes Trump’s behaviour worse – #1 means that it is all for personal gain. Cultists click that dislike button now!

No. He is just trying to give Putin an off-ramp so we aren’t bogged down when China moves in the Pacific as they will. For now Russia is bogged down in Ukraine and can’t help China much in the Pacific. It also puts a bit of doubt in Xi’s mind whether Russia really might cut a deal. Europe is there to provide money and support to Ukraine to keep it fighting and if necessary manpower. All the financial jockeying is taking place to support the above.

I am sure Trumpie is a student of the Mackinder theory and knows that if Eurasia unites then the Periphery will fall. In line with that concept of being nice to Russia would indeed be in US interests.
But also maybe the supposed refocus of foreign policy to securing South America and it’s resources indicates that the US no longer feels it can contain Eurasia and is refocusing on a more limited sphere of control.

Oh fer Chrissakes. Any reluctance to fight a country with the biggest nuclear arsenal means they “got something on him”? Did the Soviets have something on JFK when he pulled nuclear missiles out of Turkey? Did they have something on Reagan when he agreed to the INF treaty (which Trump withdrew from)? You’re old enough to remember when America and the Soviets regularly engaged diplomatically despite being in multiple conflicts against each other – including when the Soviets were backing North Vietnam against America. This country has devolved to where we can’t do diplomacy in part because of infantile assertions that Trump is gay for Putin or they “have something on him”.

Bret Weinstein on Epstein’s Blackmail Library and the Illusion of Democracy
Dad Saves America
Sep 3, 2025

Evolutionary biologist Bret Weinstein explores the disturbing possibility that Jeffrey Epstein’s blackmail operation is still pulling the strings of global politics. Beyond the crimes themselves, he argues the Trump administration’s backtracking on the Epstein files calls into question the very reality of our democratic republic. Bret explains how he applies scientific “model-building” to make sense of what appears to be history’s sloppiest coverup and the unseen forces behind it all.

Trump is doing this because he needs cover to blame anybody/everybody but himself for the coming economic and potentially political foreign relations fiasco, even if he is the only one who believes what he says. It is all about Trump, his desire to be the most consequential president ever and also be known for always being right and righteous. I once was convinced he really meant well for our country, now I have my doubts as it’s getting in the way of his ego stroking. Notice one of his main daily objectives is to remove any dissenters from his circle and beyond if possible. He is all exaggerated bluster with little truthful substance designed to make himself look good and every world leader knows it. No country has signed off on anything because they all have the same strategy, wait till the mid-terms or if necessary, wait out his term.

If he wins the Cook firing court appeal, it will be end of fed independence and it will be a huge power transfer to the executive branch. I am inclined to think he has a chance as the Fed has no real accountability as there are no enforcement mechanisms in any of their related legislation. Also, this is another example of get the little fish; notice he has been on Powell’s case essentially since taking office without doing anything meaningful.

It would be suicide for Europe to actually follow, cutting itself off from using petroleum, and starting a trade war with China & India.

But let us imagine the sanctions were actually instituted?
The price of fossil fuels would more than double and the global economy would be in a deep recession. Great success.

His Truth Social Post is really just a TACO

In 5D chess world, Trump’s new demands will actually do more to heighten tensions within the EU/NATO than Putin could dream of … if people latch on to the actual effect, they could start a new Russia hoax, claiming Trump is in Putin’s pocket.

The whole thing illustrates the extent to which all US foreign policy is pantomime; it’s all about posturing for domestic political effect. The only thing of concern to the Trump administration is how to get out of this without appearing to be a loser again, like Afghanistan and Vietnam, going so far as continually posing as a beneficent mediator when the US is the primary protagonist (Rubio: “proxy war”) in the latest chapter of the West’s 150 year war against Russia (or 1000 years, if you dig back far enough to the Teutonic knights and Catholic crusades).

and Putin spit in Trump’s face

?? When.
Putin and Russian officials have been obsequious about praising Trump and contrasting him with predecessors, even as the Russian population considers him to be an ignorant clown and have elevated “American General” to a derisory trope alongside of “British scientist”.

In my opinion, “Putin and Russian officials have been obsequious about praising Trump” in a tactical way as they have tromped on him via their actions many times. Trump has himself said he has been very disappointed in Putin after Putin has done what Putin does. Actions speak louder than words and they have shown no respect for Trump, just lip service. Trump’s response has been kicking the little guy in the teeth but leaving the bear alone. No wonder the world is losing trust in and respect for the US and its currency. Gold declares that story.

Webej
Webej

Reply to  Dave Smith

What actions? How have they not shown respect?
They have repeated ad infinitum that the root causes must be addressed.
Among them is that America is a belligerent and continues the flow of arms, command & control, and ISR. American/NATO generals are at the top of the chain of command in Ukraine. Russia proposed a treaty in Dec 2022 and were told to f-o.
Russia prefers a diplomatic settlement, but that requires meeting their terms; otherwise the battlefield will decide as the West kept repeating in 2022.

Sorry to burst your buddle, but yes, I don’t care about Epstein. He’s dead. He got what he deserved. As for the other pedo’s yes, I would like to see them brought to justice, but I don’t see any of these powerful people being prosecuted.

And I’m going to give Biden’s & Trump’s AGs a little benefit of the doubt here. If their review of the files showed there was prosecutable evidence in there, then I think they would have brought charges, especially Trump. this tells me there’s just a bunch of solacious information that’s not flattering but not prosecutable either.

As a matter of record, I don’t think there exists a client list. There may have been one, but it’s long since been destroyed or will only be revealed upon Maxwell’s death.

It’s nothingburger to me simply because I don’t see anything coming of it.

Brussels servers are probably overheating while crawling social media for memes to silence and memes to elevate to persuade its serfs to support their impoverishment.

=Trump has threatened Putin a dozen times this year and Putin spit in Trump’s face.

Mish obv has some issues w/ Russia, Russians and Putin!

why such words? spit? really?

actually Putin is very calculated and keep all cards close to his chest.

=======

as far as all Ukraine/Russia/ USA / Europe call for peace, it seems some people forgot some facts from past already having gold fish memory time span.

=1 in 2014

EU signed papers w/ Yanykovich . including some EU officials.
next a few days Yanykovich was gone by threat of death.

=====
in 2014*15
Russia SIGNED OFF MINSK ,AND MINSK2! IT WAS VOTED IN UN .
Ukraine did not implement!!

Merkel said it was to buy time to re -arm ukr army!
=====

in 2022

Russia started talks in 2022 in Istanbul , Ukraine started talking, and then after Boris Johnson, refused. war started.

I believe there is a saying in USA: fool me once, it is on you, fool me twice , it is on me.

Trump positions change day to day at this point, even hour to hour. Absolutely incompetent and destructive “leadership” (which is an absurd word to describe whatever it is he’s doing.)

Smart Guy . . . This is Trump’s way of exiting this mess because he knows that Europe cannot agree to cut their purchases of Russian Oil & Gas without committing Economic Suicide . . .

As for Sanctioning China and India . . . Europe’s shelves would be empty without China and India supplies nearly 80% of Europe Pharmaceuticals . . . Good Luck with that. This is what happens when you have Global Trade . . . Everybody is interlinked.

The Ukraine Coflict can be easily stopped within 24 hours. Simply get Zelensky to honor the Minsk Agreement, which all of Europe signed in 2014, and the war will be over quickly.

Russia doesn’t trust the West because they failed to honor the Minsk agreement !

I like the level headedness. From taking a quick look at the two Minsk Agreements, I’m not sure it was just the west who was to blame. Putin has proven he’s got insatiable ambitions to take over as much of Ukraine as he possibly can.

Hopefully, Putin doesn’t live to “old age”. The problem with Russia under Putin is that in about 10 years, once all of his able-bodied men have been sent off to die, he’ll just start sending in battalions of killer robots.

Can you imagine how low Russia’s birth rate will be in 10 years or so?

The only thing that will bring Putin to the peace table are sound defeats on the battlefield. Been that way since day one: the 40-mile convoys. They were getting their asses handed to them in Afghanistan, and they left.

Grab a gun, buddy, and head over there. There was another country that got run out of Afghanistan after 20 years, 4,000 dead and a couple Trillion dollars. Who was that one again? Yeah, after losing to the Taliban, what you wanna do is fight the most heavily nuclear-armed country in the world over a border dispute in distant non-ally country that most people couldn’t find on a map. ‘Murika!

TACO is an apt name for Trump. In the Ukraine situation, though, what would it mean to not chicken out? If you’re in the Lindsey Graham/Tom Cotton cohort (and if so, you should perform an examination of conscience) you’d say “more sanctions!” (More cowbell). Or “send a ton of F16’s” (which would have to be piloted by Americans) or “send 1/2 million troops” (which would take months to assemble and couldn’t easily be supplied) or “no fly zone” (air war with Russia). All of those ideas are insane.

If Trump had true courage, he would tell Ukraine and the Europeons to take the L and let Russia keep the four oblasts (de jure) – and obviously Crimea – before they lose Odessa, Kharkov and Sumy. The people in the oblasts Russia currently claims are Russian anyway (as if anybody in the West cares about that). I get that it’s dangerous to say no to the MIC – as JFK found out – but we’re all gonna die. If he cares about Ukrainians poised to die in this futile effort to defeat Russia – as he claims to – he should tell them it’s time to stop before all their men are dead and all their women are in Western Europe bearing children for Arabs.

OMG! What a brilliant idea. I’m sure Z & the 32 NATO leaders would do exactly that.

Take the loss just because TACO says so.

They’d have no choice. The UK army is 70,000 men. That’s it. “32 countries” sounds impressive until you realize that Turkey is the only one with a real army. Luxembourg, Estonia, Latvia, Iceland, Montenegro, North Macedonia? Ooooh, scary.

If Europe believes so strongly let’s see them put their comfort and convenience on the line.

The Euros have been playing the “lets you and him fight” game for this whole affair. The US fights Russia and they loot the corpses. In their dreams once again Europeans of the correct social class will rule the world.

There’s a lot of “let’s have you and him fight”. Regular Euros and Yanks are paying dearly for what their leaders decide for them. I see the Euro elites as partners but junior partners.

That’s exactly what is happening here. I’m in Lithuania and they are screaming here at the top of the lungs for Americans to come and fight Russians. Spend more money ! Everywhere , on TV , in the streets in your closet
I’m Lithuanian-American, I absolutely amazed , and upset of it! They live here better than average American citizen!!!! I didn’t see so many Mercedes and Porsche in New York City as I can see it here in Vilnius. All “foreigners help” is stolen. That’s exactly what LithuaniaSSR did when they were in USSR . Best supply and best live in comparison with other USSR republics!

We, Americans are absolutely unbelievable stupid to support it!!!!
Pardon my English!
