If you smoke enough weed this political division is starting to look like an evolutionary division.
The Democrats tend to promote social concepts. Ideas where everybody is included and we are all here to support each other to some degree. It’s never absolute. This is similar to the social behavior of herd animals. Defense in numbers, protect the young, sick, old. This behavior allows for very large populations.
The Republicans tend to promote individual concepts. Everybody is here on the road and may the best man win. This is similar to the social behavior of the predators. They work alone. Sometimes in cooperative packs but small numbers only. Defense only for themselves and their kin. This behavior does not allow for large populations nor does it require cooperation in depth.
The global population density has increased dramatically in 50 years and that is forcing a shift in how society functions. Most countries of high density populations have all been moving, on their own accord, to a more socialized, not individualized, set of social rules. The happiest countries less the list.
Radically individual people can’t function in modern structures without isolating themselves from that socialization. If they were merely introverts they wouldn’t be so offended by other people’s behaviors, they would just want to be left alone to participate at their own speed. These are people who can’t adjust to a different, evolving, social structure.
This evolution has been going on for hundreds of years but the internet is an accelerant of ideas. Society is evolving away from individualism to a communal mode of operation because it allows people to better coexist, allowing for a greater and more stable population.
It’s just an idea.

MAGA sounded great initially, not when Trump said it but because of the things MAGA supporters said it should mean. Then Trump ignored it.
Organizations that field the likes of Kamala, Biden, Trump, Hillary — they’re unfixable. And all national 3rd parties end up sabotaged. Reject national parties and work locally.
Even Ross Perot, whom I conclude was genuine, was sabotaged.
I dont believe Ross’s story about GOP threatening his daughter’s wedding. I bet they threatened something else but that was all Ross could say.

You make an excellent case to remodel our political system into a multiple party system similar to what we see in European parliaments where coalitions must be built.
Yes, it has its own problems just ask any European about the chaos of trying to establish a consortium. And my response is to look at us. We can’t even get dressed in the morning because our shoes on the left are sandals and our shoes on the right are leather wingtip dress shoes.

I’ve never seen such bad optics for the Republicans in my life. Corruption, cruelty, crime.
It’s really weird when you look at how many Republicans have problems with human sexuality. Lost track of how many are charged with rape, trafficking, pedophelia. Grindr is funny how it crashes at GOP gatherings while the GOP attacks homosexuality. The attack on women is unmatched outside of the Taliban.
I really wish the US political system went back to the looser of the Presidential election being offered the VP slot.
Looking from this side of the pond. I wish more people were in the centre and choose the best candidate rather than their own parties candidate. I think we would be better served if that was the case.
Unfortunately I think political polarization is here to stay. And the extremes create a closed feedback loop where one side legitimizes the existence of the other.
That would change nothing.
Although you didn’t mention it, term limits would change nothing either. The oligarchs can find a fresh new face (e.g. Obama) every day if they need to. Every new class of HR critters is almost completely another class of psychopaths.

The old (largely contrived, staged) paradigm of blue versus red is falling apart in real time as more and more people are waking up to the sobering reality that it’s now the everyday man versus the elites and their overseas overlords…who have somehow come to exist above the Oval Office and Capitol Hill. Oh, and the tech oligarchs, can’t leave them out of the picture.

Unfortunately “some folks” are still hopelessly lost in the false Blue vs Red dichotomy as this latest post clearly shows.
Then again, this is exactly the kind of analysis i would expect from someone that promoted the Covid shot and was fooled by the whole Covid scam.
Anyone that studies the data even for a minute can see that “the covid shot” had a great effect on saving people’s lives, especially those of 60 years and older. Even if it didn’t do everything that the most ardent pusher of them promised to do, there is no credible way to say that those vaccines were, on the whole, harmful. But I’m sure you can find anecdotal evidence that someone had a bad experience with them. It would be quite weird if that didn’t happen among hundreds of millions of people that took them.

I know, but I cannot resist anyway. We can all disagree on many things, and certainly on the political choices made around covid. They were too often presented as “dictated by science” while of course science can tell what’s going on, but not what the right thing is to do when you have to trade off values against each other. That’s what politics is for.
But the data is the data, and it is very hard to twist it so that you might think the vaccines where not, on the whole, very effective at preventing deaths and serious illness. You can still make the political case that despite them preventing many deaths we should stop them all, I guess to save costs? Or because they are not in the Bible? Because you like to tell other people how to live their lives? But lets hear that political case then.
26 people were killed at Sandy Hook….and nutters like Alex Jones have rightly had to pay the price for peddling nonsense.
At least 1.25M Americans died due to Covid…..and yet it seems socially acceptable in the US to say it is a conspiracy. Let alone the shameful nonsense being done to Faucci.
Perhaps you should find somebody who lost a father due to Covid and explain to them why it was a scam.

The only way is via constitutional amendments (get rid of citizens united, gerrymandering, insider trading, pardons etc.).
…but that is not going to happen without some really serious trigger point.
