What starts in California and Minnesota is guaranteed to not stay in California and Minnesota if you vote for Harris.
“Liberated” Studies Hit Minnesota
Beginning in kindergarten, the state’s schoolchildren will be indoctrinated in radical racial ideology.
The Wall Street Journal reports Tim Walz Brings ‘Liberated’ Ethnic Studies to Minnesota
Tim Walz was a schoolteacher before entering politics, so what is his approach to teaching? The Minnesota Department of Education will soon release the initial version of a document that lays out how new “liberated” ethnic-studies requirements will be implemented in the state’s roughly 500 public-school districts and charter schools.
Mr. Walz signed the law establishing this initiative in 2023. The department’s standards and benchmarks, approved in January, require first-graders to “identify examples of ethnicity, equality, liberation and systems of power” and “use those examples to construct meanings for those terms.”
Fourth-graders must “identify the processes and impacts of colonization and examine how discrimination and the oppression of various racial and ethnic groups have produced resistance movements.” High-school students are told to “develop an analysis of racial capitalism” and “anti-Blackness” and are taught to view themselves as members of “racialized hierarchies” based on “dominant European beauty standards.”
The Walz administration has relied on committed political activists to design and guide implementation of the state’s education agenda. One of them is Brian Lozenski, an associate professor of urban and multicultural education at Macalester College in St. Paul and a leader and a founding organizer of Education for Liberation Minnesota, or EdLib MN, a group that aims to “be a political force” in Minnesota and “contend with the status quo of colonial education that prioritizes Eurocentric curricula.
The St. Paul course makes “resistance” to America’s fundamental institutions a central theme. It instructs 16-year-olds to “build” a race- and ethnicity-based “narrative of transformative resistance” and to “challenge and expose” “systems of inequality.” It tells them to “resist all systems of oppressive power rooted in racism through collective action and change.” Accompanying artwork, labeled “seeds of resistance,” features protest signs that read “No Bans/No Walls” and “Abolish Prison.”
Minnesota’s experience with this radical restructuring of its public education system may give Americans a picture of what the nation as a whole could soon face.
A Beauty from EdLib MN

Things Kindergarteners Need to Study
- Use economic models and reasoning and data analysis to construct an argument and propose a solution related to an economic question. Evaluate the impact of the proposed solution on various communities that would be affected.
- Apply economic concepts and models to develop individual and collective financial goals and strategies for achieving these goals, taking into consideration historical and contemporary conditions that either inhibit or advance the creation of individual and generational wealth.
- Ask historical questions about context, change and continuity in order to identify and analyze dominant and nondominant narratives about the past.
- Analyze the ways power and language construct the social identities of race, religion, geography, ethnicity, and gender. Apply these understandings to one’s own social identities and other groups living in Minnesota, centering those whose stories and histories have been marginalized, erased, or ignored.
- Describe how individuals and communities have fought for freedom and liberation against systemic and coordinated exercises of power locally and globally. Identify strategies or times that have resulted in lasting change. Organize with others to engage in activities that could further the rights and dignity of all.
- Use ethnic and Indigenous studies methods and sources in order to understand the roots of contemporary systems of oppression and apply lessons from the past that could eliminate historical and contemporary injustices.
Things First Graders Need to Study
- Investigate a variety of historical sources by: a) analyzing primary and secondary sources; b) identifying perspectives and narratives that are absent from the available sources; and c) interpreting the historical context, intended audience, purpose, and author’s point of view of these sources.
- Integrate evidence from multiple historical sources and interpretations into a reasoned argument or compelling narrative about the past.
- Analyze the ways power and language construct the social identities of race, religion, geography, ethnicity, and gender. Apply these understandings to one’s own social identities and other groups living in Minnesota, centering those whose stories and histories have been marginalized, erased, or ignored.
Things Fourth Graders Need to Study
- Explain and evaluate processes, rules and laws of United States governmental institutions at local, state and federal levels and within Tribal Nations.
- Use economic models and reasoning and data analysis to construct an argument and propose a solution related to an economic question. Evaluate the impact of the proposed solution on various communities that would be affected.
- Analyze how scarcity and artificial shortages force individuals, organizations, communities, and governments to make choices and incur opportunity costs. Analyze how the decisions of individuals, organizations, communities, and governments affect economic equity and efficiency. [Mish comment: There’s your pro-socialism and price-gouging indoctrination]
- Evaluate how government actions affect a nation’s economy and individuals’ well-being within an economy. [More socialism if not outright communism]
- Describe places and regions, explaining how they are influenced by power structures. [Excluding of course the indoctrination taught]
- Analyze the ways power and language construct the social identities of race, religion, geography, ethnicity, and gender. Apply these understandings to one’s own social identities and other groups living in Minnesota, centering those whose stories and histories have been marginalized, erased, or ignored.[Massive DEI campaign]
The above snips are from a 109 page “American Experiment” Standards and Benchmarks document for Minnesota.
I stopped at grade 4. I couldn’t take anymore.
Glenn Youngkin Lesson
It is discussion of education, and only education, that propelled Glenn Youngkin to gubernatorial victory in Blue Virginia.
Instead of talking about DEI, indoctrination, inflation, and the border, Trump is attacking Pocahontas, offering ridiculous freebees in competition with Harris without saying how he will pay for them, and let’s be honest (running a pathetic campaign).
If you are cheering playground name calling, then you are part of the problem.
Trump won in 2016 (by a small margin), because Hillary was equally obnoxious and because of a last minute gift from then-FBI Director James Comey reopened the agency’s investigation into her private email server just days before the 2016 election.
Trump lost in 2020 on the current path.
Trump and Hillary are alike. Neither will admit they are to blame for losing.
Don’t fool yourself. Polite stupidity, DEI, and extreme socialistic indoctrination could easily win again if Trump keeps marching down the path he is on.
People are sick of divisive politics, and rightfully so. Biden promised to be a moderate but was a Progressive wet dream candidate instead.
Trump promised less divisiveness and that lasted precisely one day.
Glenn Youngkin might have won in a landslide. Instead, Trump is currently behind because of his own doing.
Trump Would Rather Be Crass Than President
Being crass will not bring an a single vote. Anyone cheering playground name calling is already voting for Trump.
Trump Seeks More Influence Over the Fed
On August 8, I commented Trump Seeks More Influence Over the Fed, a Really Stupid Idea
To understand why it’s stupid, ask yourself what would happen if Democrats get complete control again.
Trump Fires Arrows Missing the Target Badly
Also on August 8, I asked Trump Fires Arrows Missing the Target Badly, Will a Recession Save Him?
Trump’s strategy has gone from boring to shockingly bizarre and counterproductive. Does Trump think his opponent is Brian Kemp or Kamala Harris? What about recession? Walz?
Trump Lets Harris Get Away With Nonsense
Harris is pretending to be a moderate and Trump is letting her get away with it.
If Trump won’t talk about inflation, indoctrination, and his vision of the future instead of his alleged past greatness, then who will?
Harris and the media are very pleased with this aspect of Trump campaign because it allows Harris to stay in hiding.
All I can do is suggest that if you don’t want your kids to be part of an “American Experiment” indoctrination of DEI and socialism, then you need to abandon Harris no matter how crass Trump appears.
Also, ask yourself what would happen if Democrats get complete control.
Very Serious Setup
This is a very serious setup. But if you offend enough people, anger and misplaced hope can easily overrule common sense.
Yet, many Republicans are happy with the Trump campaign. I’m not. Trump’s best hope is a recession will bail him out.
I predict a recession but I don’t know if it will be strong enough.
Improving the McKelvey Recession Indicator
On August 20, I commented Improving the McKelvey Recession Indicator, No False Negative or Positive Signals
Adding the job vacancy rate to the McKelvey (Claudia Sahm) recession signal eliminates false negatives and false positives, and provides a much faster signal than Sahm.
I note that since 1953, every time the economy was in the current state, the economy was in recession.
That does not make the odds 100 percent because everything is up to the NBER, the official arbiter of recessions.
My recession post is on the complicated side, but please check it out.
Also note that the BLS Revises Jobs Down by 818,000 the Most Ever, About 68,000 Per Month
Do I get to say I told you so? My advance estimate a month ago was 779,000 lower. Bloomberg estimated 730,000.

John L “This used to be a balanced fact driven blog.”
Andy: “Well, Mish. They probably will if they read your constant derogatory comments of Trump. Pick a side, and stop playing the middle. Credibility is slipping….”
Andy does not want an honest take and neither does John L.
The former only wants Republican bashing, the latter Democrat bashing.
Very few of us stand for anything. disgusting but 100% expected.
Mish,
Do us all a favor and on Nov 5th let us know how you plan to vote. I respect your wanting to bash both candidates, but you should put your cards on the table at some point. I’m not asking you to justify your reasoning, even if you choose not to vote or do a write in. Just a quick, one sentence post will be fine. It will help things up for sure.
And, honestly, I think most people’s opinion’s here express the fact that they stand for something. We may not like it, but they’ve chosen their side and aren’t fence sitting.
Best regards,
Jay
You must be new here. Mish has stated for years that he votes Libertarian.
He knows that party has no chance but he votes his beliefs. As far as the candidates of the big 2 parties go, the ones he hopes wins is the one who does the least damage economically. That’s just good common sense.
No. I’ve been here before and forgot that. Well, this is the year he might want to change strategies.
It’s just one vote. Nothing wrong with going with your conscience.
My only qualm is why not write the occasional article extoling the virtues of libertarianism? I’d think you’d want to peel off some votes to your side.
No worries.
It is not just the two party system that prevents a Libertarian breakthrough. In Europe’s parliamentary systems no Libertarian party has any significant representation in their parliaments. Maybe voters mistrust the philosophy behind Libertarianism.
I don’t get into politics all that much.
I find it to be a waste of time, but I agree with your assessment. If the voters wanted Libertarian policy then that’s what we would have (same goes for full blown communism). The internet has allowed Libertarian and Anarcho Capitalists ideas to spread without much resistance, but for some reason the ideology can’t gain a critical mass, take off, and go mainstream. That’s not to say it can’t happen. IMHO, only when things get truely awful economically will the voters be willing to consider alternative ideas that radically differ from the status quo. That doesn’t mean they will pick Libertarian economic ideas either, just means they will consider it along with other economic policies that radically differ from the status quo. Which policy voters ultimately pick depends on messenger. When or if that happens is anyone’s guess. I sure as hell don’t know.
What’s next? The makeup and value of his portfolio? Can we stop before we get to sexual fantasies?
Ultimately, who you vote for, or against, comes down to perceptions, values, and beliefs. What is the price of integrity?
Any libertarian who votes their conscience this time around has to view one of the two candidates as more of a threat to their values & beliefs.
My question, then is the value of your integrity greater than the harm that’s going to come to your country, yourself, your family, and your friends if you believe there’s a major difference between the two candidates, especially if you believe one is an existential threat to your country.
Life is full of really hard choices. And, I would imagine Mish MAY have bent his integrity just a bit sometime in the past to make a really hard decision. Maybe not. Each person knows their own story.
Should I have said, values are the price of integrity? A long time ago, I learned a person’s values (and beliefs) define them. You don’t have to accept their values as yours; however, in a free society, they are entitled to have them.
It’s the other side that thinks its values are better than yours, and therefore your values must change.
You are obviously a closet Dem or someone that just likes to keep the people bickering at each other, Mish. Why don’t you just be honest and stop trying to snow people with the phony “objectivity” routine. The country’s entire future hangs in the balance and you keep up with the constant put downs of the only person that has tried to restore America to some version of its former greatness. What’s the alternative? Communism, socialism? Keep stirring the pot and drawing a moral equivalence and you may find out you were part of the problem that helped elect the worst nightmare we have ever seen.
As I’ve said many times, if Trump doesn’t win this time and obliterate the deep state, conservatives may never win another WH again. Big Tech, the MSM, polling & local election officials doing God knows what will make sure of that.
I was in Australia when Prime Minister Bob Hawke attempted a gerrymander that would ensure the country was forever socialist (Labor Party). The Queen intervened and dismissed the government, with a national wide election within weeks. Hawke’s partly lost massively.
If anyone thinks today’s democrats won’t do something similar if they capture the House, Senate, and Presidency, you are too dumb to vote.
I doubt King Charles will intervene in the US when the Republican Party is effectively neutered.
Die-hard Democrats tell me that after they eliminate the Republican Party there will be a Democrat Party with a left-wing and a right wing and they are fine with that. They view the Republican Party as not valid and should not exist hence their refusal to play by the rules. They really do see it as existential threat. Unfortunately there are those in the Republican Party that have the same view. We can’t count on one party or the other to save us. We have to do that ourselves and keep tight reins on them with checks and balances. That might be an unpopular opinion here but so be it.
NEITHER party is working for the majority of people in the country.
Term Limits are needed.
Campaign Finance Reform is needed and Citizens United needs to be removed / replaced to stop ultra wealthy people from buying elections.
MORE people are Independents than either Republican or Democrat, they’re unfortunately forced to listen to crud candidates from the two major parties and their “news” outlets that are owned by the super wealthy.
Get real people to run for government where elections aren’t bought and sold and have VERY finite terms of office and we’ll ALL be better off.
Citizens United is an aberration and should be repealed.
Sounds like an opinion / outcome that will require a robust 2nd Amendment. Count me in.
The Republicans have gerrymandered Supermajorities in several Southern States. They aren’t interested in the good of the people in those states. They want POWER and they want Wealth and to please their extremely Wealthy Donors.
More people are Independents than either Democrats or Republicans and are sick and tired of having to vote for reheated crap served up on toast and called a party agenda. Neither party is doing remotely a good job of actually representing the MAJORITY of people in the country.
We need Citizens United REMOVED and Campaign Finance Reform enacted immediately. We need term limits for ALL Government Officials, especially Congress and the Supreme Court, although we definitely don’t need a President who thinks he can be a Dictator anywhere Near the Office.
It’s time to limit the power of political parties and make sure we get REAL People who are actually interested in running the country and NOT Lifetime Appointments or Career Politicians.
The VAST majority of the country is absolutely sick and tired of the dogcrap candidates being offered by the two parties and want this never ending back and forth between drama queens on both sides to stop.
If you are honest, you’ll see both sides are on the same coin. Closed minds will lead to civil war. The US has been there before. The way to avoid war is already in the Constitution–enable States Rights, and restrict Federal control as the Founders intended.
“[Republicans] want POWER and they want Wealth and to please their extremely Wealthy Donors.”
Just like the Democrats. There is a reason they call both sides the Uniparty.
Flingel Bunt may not remember that too well. That was Gough Whitlam who tried to do something ‘unprecedented’ back in 1975, and Governor-General Sir John Kerr, on the Queen’s behalf, who dismissed Whitlam and called new elections. All this was kept hush-hush away from Whitlam until the axe dropped, lest Whitlam execute his authority to dismiss Kerr and demand replacement. (No surprise that Whitlam was the left-wing Labor PM.)
Here in the USA we already have several states that are pretty much one-party states, with no expectation of opposition removing them. =all of them Democrat.
Mish, being European, no surprise I find MAGA distasteful but I have noticed over the last 3 months whether in this blog or from Elon Musk there is more amplification of stories that sound terrifying, but the reality is probably that they are much more benign than they are being presented. Whether it is Tampon Tim or “The Police tried to take away my kids” (Musk post), I simply do not believe that the stories are as extreme as they seem. I was hoping that you would keep this blog really fact driven and try to avoid some of the more nonsense stories. Still the best blog out there.
Elon Musk was the darling of the Left before he started talking about Freedom of Speech. Not censoring non-liberal-approved speech caused the rift. Exposing rampant bias in the ‘Twitter files,’ was the nail in the coffin.
Trump Was ALSO darling of the left for 30+ years. Uncanny, isn’t it?
Great point. Never talked about. Although not sure if he was the darling of the left but I do think he was a registered Democrat from his voting years till maybe age 50 if previous reports are true
NY. Builder. How could anyone not be a Democrat?
Channeling Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School.
https://reason.com/2024/08/28/trumps-proposals-would-add-5-8-trillion-to-the-deficit/
The public “schools” are evil youth indoctrination camps and must be abolished.
I couldn’t add much to this post. Trump wins if he discusses education and illegal immigration. He loses if he stays on his current path.
Are you sure about that? Tons of data indicates most people vote AGAINST the other candidate, rather than FOR their favored candidate. Pretty hard to imagine anyone’s going to change their minds about Trump, so destroying Harris seems only way to get new voters & motivate your own. I think “moderates” tend to lose but they lose “nicely.” Romney & McCain tend to support that, no? Yes, optimism works, but negativity is req’d – nobody loved George HW Bush but they hated Dukakis – it’s just a reality, esp. when MSM is so far against you.
Yes, I am sure Trump being an ass cost him in 2020.
It’s pretty clear.
Next case.
MIke,why are you so hung up on Trump’s social etiquette and manners? We are talking about governing a more and more divided and politically volatile country? We need someone who can see the picture clearly and act decisively and in favor of the American people and overall body politic and your worried about his social graces! Who cares!?
Because it will cost him the election, as I have posted 100 times.
Many people will not vote for a bully or an ass. Trump is both.
Why is this so hard to understand and why do you like bullies?
Also note: “many People” LIKE bullies & Asses. Don’t get mad at HUMAN nature, for which there is no cure….
It might. I agree on the loud mouth ass part.
That does not disqualify him from being a competent POTUS.
Yes women dont like bullies. White women like bullies even less
But this country is so messed up right now he might get a pass on that
Trump will lose if he doesn’t focus on kids and the education Democrats want them to have. That is reality.
I saw Trump’s speech at the border the other day. He spoke of the crimes being committed by migrants allowed to enter the country. He had the family members of ppl raped and murdered by migrants allowed to enter our country.
He showed the material for border walls that were bought when he was prez and which Biden is selling for 5 cents on the dollar.
I didn’t hear any name calling.
To say that Trump isn’t focused on the border and only name calls is not true.
Some of our citizens would like to exclude others from running for office of president. The list in this article of their exclusion wishes just happen to be people of color including those in their own party.
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/kamala-harris-president-supreme-court-b2601364.html
The National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA) has cited the infamous 1857 Dred Scott Supreme Court decision, which stated that enslaved people weren’t citizens, to argue that Vice President Kamala Harris is ineligible to run for president according to the Constitution.
The group also challenged the right of Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley to appear on Republican primary ballots.
The Republican group’s platform and policy document noted that “The Constitutional qualifications of Presidential eligibility” states that “No person except a natural born Citizen, shall be eligible, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”
The same document included former President Donald Trump’s running mate Ohio Senator JD Vance on a list of preferred candidates for vice president.
The group, which adopted the document during their last national convention held between October 13 and 15 last year, goes on to argue in the document that a natural-born citizen has to be born in the US to parents who are citizens when the child is born, pointing to the thinking of Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas.
Doesn’t really feel like a nation, if most people have not much in common, and are trying hard to have even less in common.
Doesn’t feel like a country either, if it has no borders.
It feels more like an “economic & legal zone”…
I notice that the first thing that MN Kindergartners are supposed to learn is word-for-word identical to the second thing that MN Fourth-graders are supposed to learn, and that it looks college-level to me. Thus those words sound like cover for indoctrination of what elementary-age children are supposed to know and believe.
To criticize a part of another item in the list, understanding how local, state, federal and tribal governments operate and abuse their people, – – tell me, how many people know anything about how tribal governments work?
You had me until you said “Trump lost in 2020…”
One day even the blind (though not the corrupt) will acknowledge the substantive fraud which occured in 2020 and subsequent elections, with the mass deployment of mail-in ballots. The prospects weigh heavily upon the upcoming election due to the refusal of legislative office holders and the judiciary to delve into the fraud of 2020 and the horrific ongoing prospect of the elimation of free and fair elections.
You may not like Trump’s personality, but it takes a fearless (and rich) sob to fight this corrupt system. Who else would you suggest?
Vote for Harris if You Want Radical Racial Indoctrination of Your Kids LOL **rolls eyes** In the middle fly over USA ppl are still arguing which bathroom kids should use
Politics (and policy) are about more than the vote. To win most elections people have to build coalitions, and that takes a lot of meeting people and forming policy positions, platforms and personal ties.
Doug78 about 3 hours ago wrote “Die-hard Democrats tell me that after they eliminate the Republican Party there will be a Democrat Party with a left-wing and a right wing and they are fine with that.”
— We should not be too complacent about that. Intraparty politics are much more subtle than the electoral contest we see right now. Tell me: ¿How much democratic choice did California voters have in 2016 in the jungle primary choosing between K. Harris, L. Sanchez, C. Grappo, M. Munroe. H. Peters, E. Rodgers, S. Stokes; then in the general between K. Harris and L. Sanchez both Democrats? How much democratic choice, as opposed to Democrat choice?
Lastly, some thought has to be given to how to live in a place where politics is hostile towards you. Most people take the easy out there, and “vote with their feet”, relocating to a new more agreeable place.
FFS.
“Trump is currently behind…”
Puh-lese. Mish fails the basic intelligence test… he believes (rigged, partisan, manufactured) polls & aggregates matter. Laughable.
Trump is “leading”… he’s always been “leading”… he will continue to “lead” comfortably all the way through election day.
The only variable that can deny DJT an easy victory is the volume of Dem/deep state fraud that WILL BE COMMITTED in the swing states.
Nov. 6 isn’t the end of this mess… it’s the beginning of the REAL chaos – all by design.
Polls are scenery for tourists. No serious analyst/commentator cites polls, FFS.
Luckily, we already have wonderful examples of racial cohabitation experiment, they are called Zimbabwe and South Africa. /s
Achtung kinder indoctrination H-Jugend
Vote Harris if you want to lose the US, like they lost the UK.
Wow. Just WOW.
Aside from the nonsensical and dumb ideological content, the proposals implicate an absolutely explosive upgrade to the standards kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th graders need to meet. I am extremely impressed by the targeted standards for 3rd grade vis à vis reading proficiency & comprehension, expository writing, economic theory and analysis, math skills, project collaboration and general knowledge of the world. Just WOW.
When I was in 3rd grade, there were no economic models, no data analysis, nothing close, and I was a kid that did extra-curricular calculus to fight off boredom, binary arithmetic in 6th grade — finished high school at 15 because my behavior was so problematic for them that they kept putting me in the next grade level.
I am truly impressed by this turn of events in the implied standards for American education; America will surely lead the world again.
Gifted kids know more, and learn faster than their teachers can handle. They’re shoved aside and doped on Ritalin so the teachers can focus on slow learners. We call that DEI.
What is missing from the US public school system are the selective accelerated schools that are proliferating in other countries. They can’t operate (effectively) in the US because of quotas, constraints, and preferences. Moving an Ashkenazi 12-y-r-old into a class of mixed-race HS seniors is doomed to fail.
Mish, didn’t you already state recession started? Now you say “I predict” and that NBER is the final arbiter? I love how you change the narrative mid stream as a hedge to your credibility. Stand by your call or admit you were wrong. Are you an economist or politician? Geez, everyone knows that economists and meteorologists are right about the half the time lol.
A recession has started IMO – but I do not get to make the call. I predict the NBER will make that call, but in a not timely fashion.
At least meterologists are scientists, and in SoCal they get the weather right about 98% of the time.
Governor Walz’s style:
https://x.com/KristanHawkins/status/1826460624919937067
Pointing out a certain ignorant Democrat’s basic dishonesty is not an error in my opinion. It underlines to the public that you cannot trust the Democrats claim to truth. To put it in the vernacular, Democrats are all liars is what he is saying and that resonates with the voters personal experiences.
The Liar in Chief is Orange and Angry and cheats on everything and everyone. He swindles people, bankrupted Casinos and many other companies. Got sued and lost for a “University” that was nothing but a grift. Now he’s selling Bibles, Trading Cards and literally half a hundred other pieces of crap with his name and picture on them to grift the people who pay for his crap. All while getting candidates to overpay for events at his Golf Courses and Country Clubs and hotels and buildings.
The Liar in Chief can be fact checked by any eighth grader who cares to google the actual facts.
Nah, the Dems lie frequently but the worst “reality TV joke” in the world is Running the Republican Party for his own enrichment.
his own enrichment? LMFAO….ok.
On that point, lets discuss the Biden crime family.
Discuss…..
Nasrallah started it after Sinwar raided Israel. Hamas was defeated. Jasa is gone.
The Ayatollah missiles attack failed. Sinwar was waiting for this attack before dealing with Bibi to spare his life. MBS salivates. Bibi crushed Iranian’s proxies, diminishing a dream of a Shia empire. Biden will get his ceasefire, pacify the ME and jumpstart Kamala. The Ayatollah will cut his losses, while building a nuclear force.
You know your style mimics that of Nostradamus?
Let’s not forget the hundreds of innocent Palestinians murdered at the fence protests in 2018-19. A few people threw rocks. Israeli soldiers opened fire. Many aimed at the legs of women and kids, creating thousands of amputees, a deliberate ‘lesson’.
Given the current ongoing slaughter in Gaza, Israel has only one solution–the complete extermination of the surrounding population and annexing the territory.
Likewise:
Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah et al only have one solution–the complete extermination of the surrounding population and annexing Israel.
And that’s why it’s never going to be solved.
Two down votes, and possibly more, fascinate me.
Is it the statement of unpleasant fact? It happened.
Should we stick our heads in the sand and pretend it didn’t, or it was justified? Or do we seek to understand its causes and consequences, and maybe solve the deep socio-economic problems like an intelligent species.
It’s not an unpleasant fact. It’s just people have had it up to here on the Palestinian’s stupidity. Most Arabs feel the same way as well.
NZ is running out of gas – literallyThis country is collapsinghttps://fasteddynz.substack.com/p/nz-is-running-out-of-gas-literally
uh………I stacked play bricks, threw rocks at classmates, had food fights in the cafeteria and learned my phone number and address after my 2nd year in kindergarten. Yes, 2nd.
You’re normal. A gifted kid would sit in the corner and not interact. When a kid doesn’t put up with the teacher’s bull$hit teaching methods, they are called disruptive and put on Ritalin.
Every economy, no matter how robust, experiences periods of expansion and malaise that manifest as enthusiastic confidence in the heady boost phase and demoralized discontent in the exhaustion phase. I have often used the S-Curve to map this recurring pattern in economies and in Nature.
The United States went through such a period of discontent and malaise in the 1970s, an era I’ve described as being misunderstood as an ultimately positive phase of long-term investment and adjustment to new realities.
In the S-Curve, the boost phase is expansive because policies and current conditions fuel a self-reinforcing dynamic. The conditions for expansion are present–low-cost credit / savings to invest, people to house, feed and put to work, global markets willing to import surplus production, ample natural resources, geopolitical peace–and policies that incentivize and reward expansion are in place.
The rapid growth is infectious, and public confidence in a better future are also self-reinforcing: as hard work and sacrifice (“eating bitter tears”) are rewarded with rising prosperity and prospects, anything seems possible–not in a distant future, but right now.
https://charleshughsmith.substack.com/p/china-adrift-now-is-the-winter-of
The product life cycle is a better explanation. An S-curve implies some kind of cyclical ‘factor’ that regenerates the culture/economy–perhaps the rebuilding of capital. More likely, the renewing factor, if there is one, is human resiliency and a tendency to innovate.
“Beginning in kindergarten, the state’s schoolchildren will be indoctrinated in radical racial ideology.”
Which of coarse is racist, in and of itself. Why do Democrats want to teach children to be racist? The verbiage used in the liberated studies program description, sounds of Marxist indoctrination. Two of the three founders of BLM said they were trained Marxists.
What if… ‘the state’s schoolchildren will be exposed to opening their minds, gaining understanding of the complexities of any problem, exploring existing solutions and their effectiveness, inventing new solutions, and examining their possible consequences.”
With that mindset, a teacher doesn’t need to talk about racism.
This is just wrong as far as I can tell from looking at the standards that the state of mn itself has online. But whatever. I can tell you that I’ve taught in 3 states (1 red, 2 blue) and kindergarten is pretty much the same as it was when we were kids. You can stop clutching your pearls anytime now.
In the olden days if you wanted to see a drag show, you went to a gay bar, not a kindergarten.
Clueless
This is like saying Sesame Street does not have a political bias. You might not see it, but it’s there.

We are going to homeschool our children, although both my wife and I have attended public schools. Whilst most are outsourcing the education of their children to schools, we will insource it. We are blessed and frugal enough to have the means to live on one income.
Ultimately, it is bc we are born-again Christians and we don’t want this kind of unreflected indoctrination of our children in schools.
Since homeschooling is not allowed where I come from and where we live (Germany), we will have to relocate to be able to do so. It will be well worth it.
There are comments below which apparently require approval. Such a hot topic is guaranteed to draw complaints and raise unpleasant subjects. My attempt to rebut one comment was rejected summarily. Simply, there are multiple sides. True education must not condition students to accept only one point of view.
In case it is not clear, the Minnesota plan reeks of conditioning–think Pavlov’s dogs and you’d be close. This is mind-control, NOT education.
The comment I made was to Casual Observer regarding slavery.
You must be an educator to so fully understand the importance of conditioning young brains to accept a certain narrative.
You brought up ‘white people are so afraid of their own ugly history of slavery and racism.’ So, while at the risk of offending Mish and his readers…
I will refer to one example, you can read about it on Wikipedia.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venetian_slave_trade
Venice became a major trading port based largely on slave trading in the middle-to-end of the medieval period. It ended in the 15th century only because the Ottoman Empire took over. White slaves were brought from all over Europe, primarily from the Balkans because of proximity. Trading by ship and land extended into Nordic areas–those slaves having a higher value. Each crop was brought to the markets in Venice.
Not reported by politically correct Wikipedia: White boys were castrated and sold to Muslims and Africans as catamites. White girls were concubines–there were harems full of them. The Rialto Bridge and Market are tourist favorites–slavery and what was done there is never mentioned.
Sorry to learn you consider yourself an ‘educator,’ Mr. Brainwasher.
Indeed. In modern ‘history’ classes the social-justice gatekeepers alway want to paint the white European as the perpetual aggressor and the ‘brown’ and ‘black’ people as the perpetual victim of their aggression.
Maybe, that’s just the sad the case…
like it or not
I suppose the Moors did invade somewhat “whiter” people at one point a long, long time ago… Ottomans….Maybe. Mongols….
But, by and large, you’d have to be pretty darned dense not to notice a bit of a skin-color pattern wrt who have been invaded/conquered/colonized/bombed, vs who were doing so, over the past few centuries… Australian Aboriginal criminals didn’t exactly go invade England, you know…. Nor did Sitting Bull come to Germany to take scalps. Nor did the Vietnamese Napalm Chicago.
No. Venice made their money trading spices and stuff like that mainly through Egypt. Now Genoa did more slave trading than Venice but even then it was a small part of their profits. The big slave traders were the Ottomans who stole Christians and Africans and sold them by the millions to other Muslims.
You may be correct, as far as I know–although the ‘spices and stuff,’ is likely about whitewashing history. I doubt you’ll find any mention of slavery in today’s Venice (circa 8th through 12th centuries), or Genoa (which was into slave-trading in the 13th through 15th centuries).
That said, please note: I will refer to one example,
My comment was specific to Venice, not an overview of white slavery. My point was that slavery was not only a white supremacy thing. Is the any major culture that has not enslaved others?
Not whitewashing. Bills of sale and ship cargos were meticulously recorded and are available to be read and studied.
You missed Barbary wars or rather what led to them.
Europe’s first conquests were to stop the slave raids.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbary_slave_trade
This is a great article, Mish.
I still won’t be voting for Harris, because the democrats are supporting infanticidal, racist, imperialist, colonizing scum-sucking mass-murdering rapists in Israel.
Minnesota first-graders should have a unit about the Gaza holocaust and Israel’s round of offshore Gaza oil and gas leasing in the few weeks after October 7, prior to IDF commencement of genocidal destruction of innocent Palestinian civilians.
However, it is heartwarming to learn from your article that Minnesota kindergartners will now be better educated than most of your adult readers – readers who proudly post that they are supporting dirtbag Donald and his swamp of illiterate followers.
Supporting an authoritarian dolt like Donald Dick because the Democrats are ‘socialists’ is base, imbecilic nonsense.
My taxes are only in the six figures each year. I will be glad to pay more to develop more egalitarianism and decency in the United States. Not that it will ever happen.
Hopefully, the democrats do not steal this election from Cornel West and some sense is restored to DC.
Incidentally, all money is ‘free,’ created and arbitrarily redistributed by the State. The rich plainly enjoy more free money than the poor. If you really want deficit reductions, higher taxes are the obvious solution. Spending is only going up.
Nevertheless, glad to see Harris now smoking Trump in the polls, her lead will only be increasing as more useless nonsense-peddlers like RFK throw their support behind authoritarian totalitarianism.
The only problem ‘guest’ is cramming kids’ minds with state-approved ‘knowledge’ is NOT education. The age to introduce complex issues requiring advanced cognitive processing is NOT kindergarten, when the average kid can barely grasp fundamentals. In fact, the content outlined would be difficult for high school seniors.
Example of kindergarten curriculum issues:
Apply economic concepts and models to develop individual and collective financial goals and strategies for achieving these goals, taking into consideration historical and contemporary conditions that either inhibit or advance the creation of individual and generational wealth.
‘Playing fair’ is kindergarten curriculum.
That these subjects might be challenging for high-schoolers is a pathetic estimation of where education levels should be, Flingel Bunt.
Understanding systematic repression is not rocket science.
All sorts of repression besides racism. It happens with closed minds, including those paying ‘only six figures’ in taxes.
Cramming stuff into a kid’s head is NOT education. Developing a love for learning, inciting curiosity, understanding modes of thinking–that is education.
Units on systemic economic and gender inequality would be a good idea also, thank you. These could start in day-care centers so that little tykes could be galvanizing love for learning ahead of the kindergarten experience.
Perhaps you could be a guest teacher and share your life experiences.
Nice, more free money for me, a teaching gig, and the little tykes would have a break from your fictive imagination!
Understanding systemic Marxist indoctrination, is not rocket science. I see it for what it is. Marxism is a system of oppression. Censorship, which Democrats support, is a system of oppression.
“However, it is heartwarming to learn from your article that Minnesota kindergartners will now be better educated than most of your adult readers…”
Minnesota school indoctrination is not education. When it comes to Big Pharma and vaccines, etc., RFK Jr. is not a nonsense peddler. The CDC is. Marxism is authoritarian totalitarianism. Trump wants to deregulate, which is not what authoritarian totalitarians do. My Cuban former neighbor, who grew up under Castro, left California in 2020, seeing clearly what California Democrats are doing to the state.
Nonsense. Trump wants POWER and more and more wealth and adulation from his supporters and to be able to fire or punish anyone who doesn’t support him.
Look at his good buddy Putin for who he wants to emulate. He cheats on his wives and his family and his business partners and regularly gets away with it. He’s a spoiled brat that didn’t get told no enough as a kid and now thinks that the US can be his personal piggy bank and he can rule without end, if he gets elected again. He’s incompetent enough to bankrupt Casinos and Water and Steak companies with his own name on them and got busted for running a fake university. He’s ONLY interested in enriching himself and getting praise from other people.
Harris excels at smoking pole.
Could be the reason Donald Dick is helping her.
Trump installed 3xR in the supreme court, openned Alaska, cut taxes and regulations,
closed the border,,, but if u like Kamala laughing and her bidding vote for her.
Well, Mish. They probably will if they read your constant derogatory comments of Trump. Pick a side, and stop playing the middle. Credibility is slipping….
To the contrary, MIsh brings an open mind.
Trump is not evil. Trump is not perfect. Trump is somewhere in the middle, with human failings. He is first and foremost a real estate developer. I’ve known a number of them over the years. With two exceptions, they resemble Trump–big ego, loud mouth, over confident…. That’s what it takes to cajole, con, convince the stakeholders to go along with your idea–that’s the deal maker persona.
He isn’t a statesman, or an innovator, or brilliant, or profound. However, he has the temperament to stand up for the US, demand other countries play fair, and do his best to improve our lives. He’s probably not too keen on going to war, but if we do, he wants to win. Along the way, he’ll say dumb things. Bullshit when he needs to. Play a lot of golf…
His temperament is for shite. He’s a crybaby who wants adulation from everyone else and will do things to enrich himself whenever possible. He’s a constant liar and wants power and influence and massive amounts of wealth. He doesn’t care about the US or laws or fairness or decency or anything else that most normal people would expect a REAL Leader to care about and exemplify.
Nobody needs a King or a Dictator or Self-Absorbed fake Reality TV persona firing everyone who doesn’t suck up to him.
No. He’s not the person we need running the country. His ego is too big to do the right things and deal with people and countries who aren’t subordinate to him.
He should be cheating at golf on the regular basis and shilling his cheap crud to people who are enamored with his brand. Nothing more.
I dunno, Trump’s temperament while being almost-assassinated wasn’t at all like that. Like RFK Jr., we might find it revealing to take a closer look, rather than relying on the mainstream media’s portrayal of him. No one’s perfect, but the more I look the more I realize he’s not as bad as we’ve been led to believe. The bigger question will be who does he surround himself with and will they be of higher integrity than the alternative set of swamp creatures.
I would also point out that self-enrichment seems to be a common theme among most of Trump’s predecessors and successors, so that cannot be used as an argument just against him.
That might mostly be true, but how did his kids turn out to be so polite? Perhaps they were raised by cordial hispanic nannies?? What’s your explanation?
Both sides deserve and expect criticism from all sides, that’s how the process is supposed to work.
Forcing others to toe any particular party line is exactly what this nation is Constitutionally NOT about.
The VAST majority of Americans are in the middle and sick and tired of the incompetent or corrupt politicians who are running this country for their OWN benefit and their Special Interests who buy them elections.
Term Limits and Campaign Finance Reform are needed immediately.
Trump vs Harris is a very clear choice.
Like myself, can you pinch your nose and vote for Trump or will you throw you vote behind literally THE MOST RADICAL presidential candidate in modern history? Those are your choices.
The MSM make Trump look a lot more divisive than he really is. His personal attacks are a far cry from calling tens of millions of conservatives deplorables, etc.
Here’s the latest example of TDS. During the RNC, Biden’s name was mentioned twice by speakers over the four days, while Trump was mentioned 393 times at the DNC.
The damage the left-wing radicals have done to this country in less than 4 years and will expand during a Harris administration are incalculable.
If RFK Jr. can throw some weight behind Trump, then I would certainly hope Mish could as well. You can hate Trump with a passion and still vote for him knowing what’s coming for your family, wallet, & constitutional rights from Harris-Waltz.
A non-vote for Trump is a vote for Harris. If that’s your choice, then please don’t complain when they follow through with all of their crazy ideas that you can’t get them to put on a sheet of paper or talk about in a real interview.
My gawd, how blinded, as an independent, do you have to be to not see this RUSE they’re selling?
Thanks.
3 1/2 years of total Bull Shit and still there are those who say can’t we just sit down over a cup of Tea and Talk things out.
Precisely. If i were to strictly vote my principles I wouldn’t vote for anyone. Politics is supposed to be about compromise – there are things I both like and dislike about Trump but he is clearly far and away the better choice. I’m not looking for someone to ‘save the country’ I’m fine with someone who’s not going to further f@ck it up. Harris will f@ck it up.
Trump wants to rule the country like Putin and Xi and Orban do. He wants to be king or dictator. We got rid of that in 1776. No need at all to go back to authoritarian regimes.
The Dems suck too but not nearly as bad as the big orange clown.
Rose colored glasses, BIG TIME!
I simply can’t understand how people that want to be seen as rational can repeat this stuff over and over. You have absolutley no basis upon which to claim that Trump wants to be a dictator or king or whatever other than president. That’s simply propaganda ministry hysteria that appeals to and amplifies your dislike of the man to the point where it becomes mad ravings. Unfortuantely the msm monkey troop encourages this just like other forms of insanity.
This is why I point out again and again, and again: ‘brain-washing’ will be how the democrats will win in 2024. Republicans do much the same; however, democrats control more media, and control the message.
Counting votes is just a formality with a small % of fraud.
What, exactly, was the DNC’s appointment of Kamala as the candidate except authoritarian?
‘pragmatic’
Quit the nonsense. Trump is a crook and a liar and a conman plain and simple. He’s only after personal enrichment and self gratification. He doesn’t care about anything or anyone but himself and he’s not for to operate a Casino without bankrupting it…nor is he fit to run the country and certainly not fit to stay in power. He cheats on everyone and nearly everything he does and fires or insults anyone who disagrees with what he says or wants.
Time to send him packing and let him play golf and cheat at that. Way less damage he can do there.
The Biden family are the ultimate grifters, conmen, and out to enrich themselves through influence peddling. Joe due to his old age is probably going to get away with it just like Hillary got away with breaking any number of national security data integrity laws.
One day though, people like these and hopefully Hunter sooner rather than later are going to be held accountable. And let’s just say I’m not talking about in the legal sense. America, like parts of Europe, is on a steady march towards that movie by Alex Garland earlier this year.
We’ll have our moment when Dems feel like they’ve consolidated enough power to go after legal gun owners. That’s when those who seek to destroy America will have answer the question asked by Plemon’s militia character.
In the meantime, we’ll see if Merchan is stupid enough to try to sentence Trump to jail time next month. If I were a betting man, I’d say yes, but I wouldn’t want to bet on the reaction from Trump’s supporters.
I just read where a new national poll has Harris up 7 points. The entire system has aligned itself against conservatives. It’s that simple.
Cheers, David!
Okay, prove it. For each claim you make, cite two verifiable examples, besides the opinion makers who pretend to be reporters..
DavieC….you forgot to turn-on your Sarcasm Font…..
Mish is to be complemented for usually factual commentary, but not this.
1. No information is provided linking Harris to Minnesota’s educational policy.
2. Walz As governor signed the education bill, but there is no indication that he approved the results presumably promulgated by the bureaucracy. Bureaucracies can go off the rails without any knowledge of the governor before hand. The results as you describe are so bizarre for the primary grades as not to be believed. Could you be decent enough to provide a link to the actual published policies delivered to the schools so we could view them ourselves?
3. I would add that under a Harris presidency we would be talking about a national education policy. There is de minimus chance for anything close to the Minnesota
policies to be promulgated at the federal level. Any serious attempt to do so would be encouragement to abolish the department of education.
I’m a strong supporter of states rights. If Minnesota wants to teach this ‘curriculum’, let them. I suspect intelligent parents will move to private education, or leave the state. If they don’t, that’s their problem, not mine. Either the state blossoms into a new golden age, or it flops.
What is missing in today’s education is what drove the city states of Greece to achieve what they did in about 300 years. Divergent thinking is what leads society to advance. China stayed the same for about 2,000 years for the same reason–almost no divergent thinking. Minnesota’s curriculum is not divergent in any way. There is no original thinking, just more DEI and irrational premises.
If the entire US follows MInnesota, so be it. The US is doomed to Idiocracy
Clearly you have internalized the leftist principle of not holding those responsible to account. Walz signed the paper as governor – he is 100% responsible for the results as the guy running the state. What more link do you need beside the fact that she picked him as her running mate? It is an endorsement of his policy history.
Another leftist trait is to make a show of demanding evidence when statements do not support their positions but handwaving any such requirement when they make the most outlandish unsupportable statements themselves. The point here is that the educational system – of which Walz and his wife have been an integral part for years – is completely co-opted by leftist thinking. Incrementalism is the tactic being used to push everything further and further left – there are abundant examples nationally – what more evidence does one need?
She picked him to Win the Election and because he was a Team player. Period.
Saying anything is nonsense.
Say you don’t know how politics works without actually saying it.
Unfortuantely time and again you’ve proven yourself to be completely irrational. How in the world can you claim he’s a “Team Player” while at the same time their policy positions are not in alignment.
She picked him because he’s an extreme left-winger like herself. Shapiro, other than being Jewish, was too moderate and would outshine her just like Vance does with Trump. But Trump recognized Vance’s ability to speak to the average American was more important than worrying about being upstaged. After all, if they win, Trump’s the boss anyway.
If you bothered to read instead of ranting I posted a link.
I even said where they came from.
The above snips are from a 109 page “American Experiment” Standards and Benchmarks document for Minnesota.
And if you bothered to read, Mr. Walz signed the law establishing this initiative in 2023.
Apology accepted
You are giving Walz a pass because you assume he didn’t read the bill before signing it. Isn’t the veto power of the governor supposed to be used for things like this?
The Soviet Union already tried this kind of indoctrination, only it centered on Marxism and socialist internationalism.
Second time is the charm.
We had that Minnesota kind of crap in our schools here in Maryland; so I vote strictly Republican in local elections. But I can’t vote for Trump, he is a total danger to our democracy.
Except I won’t vote for any Trumpist locally either
Or Trumpette.
Trump is almost 80 years old, as was Biden. Which one do you think has done more to eliminate “democracy”? I note that one of them is still in office, quit his campaign under threat of being removed using the 25th Amendment by a cabal of Democrat leaders because of his senility, but even so is still sitting in the Oval Office “running the country”. Or vacationing at Rehoboth Beach. His VP has been anointed the Democrat Presidential candidate without earning a single vote. The other one has been charged in multiple Democrat-controlled venues by Biden’s most loyal supporters; Black women. He has also survived an assassination attempt, which everyone seems to classify as either “no big deal”, or “too bad the guy was a bad shot”. I’m with the underdog.
I have yet to hear a cogent explanation of exactly why Trump is more a danger to ‘democracy’ than the democrat establishment.
Trump couldn’t even get the military to follow his orders, but with the entire media, big tech, academia and entertainment industries, all the democrats, half of the republicans and half of the courts arrayed against him, he’sa “danger to democracy”? JHC you have been thoroughly propagandized.
BELIEVE him when he says he wants to be Dictator. He’s a lying, cheating narcissist that cheats on everything and everyone, including his wives, his business partners and any number of legal issues.
Don’t vote for people who fire anyone who remotely disagree with him. Nearly his ENTIRE cabinet hates him or says he’s a clear and present danger. These were the people who HE SELECTED to work for him. He thought he was on an episode of the apprentice. Such an incompetent hack but dangerous if he gets back in because he’s only going to pick “yes men” who won’t go against him to save the country.
No, we had a King before 1776. We don’t need a narcissistic dictator in his place.
It isn’t “our democracy” when the RINOs and DINOs keep censoring the voices, taking to court and/or cancelling the votes of everyone who disagrees with them.
That isn’t a democracy at all, it’s classic fascism.
I truly am beginning to believe that this will end with the secession of several states.
Move to Russia or China or somewhere else. The vast majority of Americans don’t want Trump. They did their jobs when he lost and told him to pound sand. Time to send him golfing permanently so he can do less damage cheating there.
Drama Queens talking about secession obviously forget History or we’re too dumb to comprehend how negatively impacted the secessionist states were. AR-15s might be able to shoot up a shopping center or grocery store or concert. But they certainly aren’t going to be effective against a REAL Army. The attempt at a Power Grab by a dwindling ultra conservative politicians is flat out disgusting.
This used to be a balanced fact driven blog.
What is anti-factual here?
A lot has changed in the 22 years since I began reading Global Economic Trend Analysis. We all change, it’s inevitable.
I get 20/30 hate votes/day. That’s 10,000/Y.
I am envious. But then I don’t post as often as you. I will be satisfied to take the Silver Medal.
Here’s one for you too. Bronze?
You get bronze. JoJo gets silver.
There. I just gave ya a like vote.
Here’s an up vote for ya!
Down to 9,999.
For RFK’s full text of his presidential campaign suspension and backing Trump, see the link: TRANSCRIPT: Every Word of RFK Jr’s Epic Anti-Establishment Speech – PJ Media
Read it to the end for remarkable revelations about the corruption in our government to include the terrible treatment of our kids from education through medical. If Trump wins, there is little doubt after reading this, that the two have agreed RFK jr. will be HHS secretary.
Would you rather have a crass president or someone who wants to castrate your kids?
If Trump were simply crass, it would be a non-issue.
Calling Kamala “dump” is crass. But, when you have the entire Big Tech / MSM establishment amplifying it into something that it’s not, then you MAY be right. But at that point, it’s really not a reflection of reality.
Okay, let’s add that he’s narcissistic. Sure! Absolutely! 100%
SO WHAT? If he win’s, he’s done in 4 years time. I know for a fact my life & my family’s will be better than the alternative. Legit.
The point being made that you replied to is that the other candidate supports radical ideologies that are really dangerous, costly & anti-American.
This isn’t even close to one of those least bad of two bad choices.
I’m italian. What I find incredible is that the republicans during the last 10 years couldn’t find someone better than Trump.
The Republicans sucked so bad, the people had to resort to Trump.
Trump is a virus for which the Republican Party has no immunity.
Nobody really cares what Trump says. They are only interested in what he does.
He just opened up his campaign to RFK Jr. which means a full on endorsement of dealing with health issues caused by Food in the US.
Harris could not be bothered making an attempt to find common ground to get country going.
If a person votes for Trump it is because they believe he will make a difference by bringing in talent to run the government.
Who remembers anything Trump said. Election remains about policy which is there in the platform and what he did prior four years.
Add: The Mister mean tweets dialogue is really so yesterday.
What people will remember is right after he got shot he stood up and said three words Fight Fight Fight.
When the Gordian Knot was presented to Alexander the Great did he offer up a soliloquy?
No he took out his sword and cut it apart.
It is way past time for words. It is time for action.
Mr. Mean tweets has completely revamped the GOP and inclusively brought in those who have walked away from the opposition party.
This includes Tulsi Gabbard.
If you like the status quo, stick with Harris. If you have had enough of empty Talk and want action then do Trump.
And she snubbed her nose at every Jew in America for what would have been a real gamechanger of a running mate. Why? She didn’t want to be upstaged by such a strong running mate or alienate the radical left, Hamas / terrorist loving voters.
Trump on the other hand did the exact opposite. You can dislike Vance for whatever reason, but the guy outshines Trump 10X whenever he opens his mouth. Trump embraced that really strong conservative voice who was very critical of him as he was launching his political career. The difference between the two choices cannot be starker in contrast as to how each potential administration is going to operate.
A 2nd Trump administration, in terms of those people he puts around him, is going to be radically different and better. Basically, everyone knows what they’re getting with Trump now, so they’re either going to say NO WAY when asked or Trump is going to choose people that will be WAY MORE supportive / loyal just like the Dems are.
Trump is both Promoter and an Organizer those are his two great strengths.
That is what is needed to get things done.
Times we live in require simple Truths to abide by. There are no subtleties required for dialogue between sides. It is a Chasm that is in place between sides.
How Large is that Chasm?
I would point to RFK Jr. leaving behind everything he was raised with to reach across to an accepting Trump so as RFK Jr. could sleep at night without his conscious being a challenge to himself.
Trump has moral conviction and he has stuck to simple Truths as his platform.
A Promoter looks for ways to bring in Talent so as to further the simple truths that are that guideline of policy.
An Organizer takes Talent and puts out an approach to deploy that Talent.
This is what should continue with a second Term.
The Nation does not need an orator as head. That aspect can be accomplished via Talented speakers as long as they remain aligned with simple Truths.
If the D are stupid enough to dump Trump in jailed for felonies he committed before he became president the GOP might go for Yougkin.
This is why you get hate votes. Because you say stupid things like “Trump committed felonies.”. An easy solution would be to find an echo chamber in which to emit your nonsense.
The people here who give you “hate” votes (aka calling you out on your bullsh*t) are taking Abrain daily. Abrain provides protection from nonsense like what you’re posting on this blog.
You’re probably a troll. In that case, people should just realize your sole intent is to distract/divert/dilute/dissuade conversation and healthy debate and….IGNORE you.
Trump was convicted by a Stalinist court on crimes he committed before he became president. Thus he isn’t protected by the supreme court. He is a convicted felon. Got it. That’s a fact. Why Trump will be sentenced in Sept: ask them : the judge, the DA and the jury .
My bet, the US Supreme Court will promptly kick the case back with a warning about politicizing the legal system. To tolerate such bias jeopardizes the entire legal system.
Kamala policies : from normalcy to bold social experimentations. Voters who offer
themselves to Kamala’s highest bidding will get what they deserve. That’s how they
got Hoover, FDR and LBJ.
The strength of the United States is in its diversity. This showed up really well in the Olympics. The idea is to reduce active repression of whole groups of people. The more we bring people into the fold of being active in our society, the stronger we get. Any reason for out and out hate only hurts us as a group.
Agree. Hate permeates the comments section here. Too many cult morons who spend all their time and energy spreading misinformation and hate.
I ignore as much of it as I can, but I can’t
help but see some of it.
Hate permeates almost any on-line forum nowadays. Mishtalk is no different or worse. IMHO, it’s quite tame compared to what I’ve seen. Just make good use of the hide button, and eventually you’ll only see your posts.
Cheers!
The “hide” button is a wonderul feature.
A lack of diveristy does not equal hate, unless you are saying the NBA is full of hate. You could make that argument about the WNBA, that seems obvious.
I was very broad and bland on this. I was thinking of everyone has a fair shot at the peice of the pie and not being held back by systematic repression. I see a lot of Trumpies on here. One interesting note is a right wing march, I forget the city it was in, “Jews will not replace us”. Some of that thinking gets into our system of higher archy and repression gets a foothold in power.
Yes, that is precisely what merit-based systems are designed to do. Unless you are arguing that NBA teams should reflect the race and ethnicity of the country.
Who is being systematically repressed? One key indicator in my view is to look at which part of the ctizenry is allowed to be criticized, ridiculed and villainized in the media.
In the media? No, outside the media. It’s what people do to each other. Whether the media covers it or how can the media even cover it?
There are those waiting in the wings looking to bring on hate of all the different groups. Nazis come to power, KKK comes to power, different white power groups.
Kneeling during Trump presidency.
I am more optimistic now that Kamala is in there, he won’t be our next president.
I’m not sure how any sane person could celebrate a Kamala presidency but here we are.
I’m insane enough to be on here. LOL. There is nothing like talking to people who have a different view than I do.
As a group, the dems are pretty happy with her. Including myself. From my point of view, she is going to move towards an America that I want to see.
What does the America you want to see look like? Maybe you could give some bullet points – I’m genuinely curious to know.
These seven Principles are as follows:
You’re optimistic about a Harris term? There’s so much to unpack there, but in the spirit of diversity of opinions, I’ll hold back.
If Trump loses, here’s hoping you’re right about what she’ll accomplish that brings America together.
I have my doubts. No worries.
Cheers!
thanks. I got through the Republicans like Ronald Reagen, you will do great.
Honestly that’s just an empty platitude. The problem is confusing contrary or even negative opinions with “hate” either willfully or just because people nowadays have no capacity for discernment. For example having a negative opinion about ‘Black Culture’ in America does not mean one ‘hates Blacks’. Moderation is the key to many things in life. Unrestrained ‘diversity’ is not a strength – it is a serious weakness that ultimately leads to the dissolution of cultures and nations. People are drawn together by things they have in common – that might be race/ethnicity, religion or some other ideology or set of concerns. In America, assimilation and having to speak a common language was the process by which different people formed the country. Now assimilation is made to be ‘racist oppression’ – I have encountered Hispanics in this country who have been here for 20-30 years and still can’t speak english, is it a strength when you can’t even communicate with people?
I grew up in an area where some Germans had settled in. This one woman had never learned English. My firend knew German and would interpret for me.
I’ve had customers of color I was pretty sure they were having a race issue with me. I just have to let it go. If I get stuck in resentment and I don’t let it go, that’s on me.
Righting a wrong from the past as we have tried to do since the 60s has its issues. Are we now in a position that people in charge of hiring can give people a fair shot based on performance. I can only hope we are closer now than when we were in the 60s.
OK, what nation are you talking about? The “United States” is increasingly a fiction. If you gathered a random group of people at an international airport, they wouldn’t be a “nation”. A common culture? Citizenship? An honored history? Respect for law? A secure, prosperous economy? Peace with other powers in the world?
It’s also resolving our own personal issues. How do we live in peace with ourselves and not let outside issues suck us into resentment. That is when it is on us.
There are ideas of what a nation is. Is it a nation based in fascism? Do we want to give one person all our power to do as he or she pleases in the whitehouse? Do we want balanced power between the rhree branches of gov? Right now as I am reading, the supreme court is sliding laws in favor of corporations. Supreme court justice Thomas is taking lavish gifts from a rich friend that would love court findings to go his way.
There is 1 party that is trying to control what you see, what you hear and keep current events in the U.S. outside of your awareness
And that is the Democratic party.
You think there is balanced power now in the media? Education system? Border patrol? Border? We have no stinking border?
Just WTF is running the country right now? can you tell me? Has anyone seen Joe Biden??
Kamala Harris? Really, thats the answer to Trump?
I’m the most peace loving generous guy( who is not rich) around and I am ready to load up on ammo because of what I see is really going on in America right now
How about calling out the Democratic party for their treasonous excess?
Let me know when you get to the Biden crime family with regards to Ukraine and China
Or have you conveniently skipped that part????
Typical liberal. Can never look in the mirror, be honest about what the Democratic party will do.
And you want Kamala. Are you even aware that she has been the vice president for almost 4 years?
Trump has not _cuked the the country up these last almost 4 years you guys have
I love these people that annoint themselves the higher moral ground just because they are Democrats.
Trump is not the solution, but people like you are the problem
What would you like the United States to become?
There are ways to generate open minds and critical thinking. What the democrats are doing is not one of them. I’d suggest this blog does more sharing and critiquing ideas than most other venues. In the future, a ‘Mish’ will switch from writing and written comments to open online sessions where his ideas can be discussed and developed. Not a hive mind, but a collective of many minds seeking understanding.
We live in competitive politics. I admire John McCain for his honor to do the right thing running for president against Barrak Obama. Now Trump? That is one dark person.
I do want the world to bend my way, but then that’s not the way the world works unless I’m singing to the choir in my like minded group of people. My son is by 23 and me 15% nigerian. I am keenly aware of racially biased people. I’ll go to the mat for him to be treated fairly.
There are people on here thinking that this is a really open group and yet are very active in listing someone’s comments as negative. I seem to be scoring very high in that regard on here. You would think a bland statement that I gave above me wouldn’t be offensive to others. We should all compete on an equal basis in society. Our white skins really shouldn’t be a sign of privelidge over others but a sign of equality. We all have gifts to share with the rest of our society and be paid accordingly.
I’m not sure who will argue with you judging people by their individual qualities – that’s basically the antithesis of DEI and the modern racial grift industry.
I have worked for a few people who are quite disrespectful of muslims. So a white majority can treat people quite rudely if they wish. I did not like what I was seeing.
As regards trump all I can say is SPOT ON! Ike sums it up: Never let yourself be persuaded that any one Great Man, any one leader, is necessary to the salvation of America. When America consists of one leader and 158 million followers, it will no longer be America.
