If you were wondering how much cream puffery there would be in CNN’s Dana Bash interview of Kamala Harris, we now have the answer.
Is It Because?
Please consider the CNN report Harris explains in exclusive CNN interview why she’s shifted her position on key issues since her first run for president
Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday offered her most expansive explanation to date on why she’s changed some of her positions on fracking and immigration, telling CNN’s Dana Bash her values haven’t shifted but that her time as vice president provided new perspective on some of the country’s most pressing issues.
In the CNN exclusive sit-down interview, Harris also said she would name a Republican to serve in her Cabinet if elected.
Pressed by Bash on her reversals on fracking and decriminalizing illegal border crossings, Harris sought to explain why her positions had changed.
“How should voters look at some of the changes that you’ve made?” Bash asked Harris. “Is it because you have more experience now and you’ve learned more about the information? Is it because you were running for president in a Democratic primary? And should they feel comfortable and confident that what you’re saying now is going to be your policy moving forward?”
On Thursday, Harris pointed to the Biden administration’s Inflation Reduction Act, which provided record investments in combatting climate change, as an example of her climate record.
“My values have not changed. So that is the reality of it. And four years of being vice president, I’ll tell you, one of the aspects, to your point, is traveling the country extensively,” she said, pointing to her 17 visits to Georgia since becoming vice president. “I believe it is important to build consensus, and it is important to find a common place of understanding of where we can actually solve problems.”
Values Unchanged
Yeah right.
Perhaps in this sense: I will tell whatever lies I need to to win in November.
Let’s modify the title of CNN article to a more appropriate “Harris explains why she’s shifted her position on key issues and CNN was pleased to give her the answers right in its questions.”
Are You Expecting a Creampuff Interview of Harris and Walz by CNN?
On August 27, I asked Are You Expecting a Creampuff Interview of Harris and Walz by CNN?
One of my readers responded, “No. Why?”
Another said “Betteridge’s law of headlines”.
The law of headline says “Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no.”
I replied “So you are not expecting a cream puff interview? And do you speak for everyone?”
For the record, I am very aware of the law and purposely ask questions that have yes, no, or maybe answers.

The Harris platform, so far.
I think more like a cannoli.
Stuffed with fattening sweet goo.
Deep fried so it’s crusty on the outside.
Sometimes it has green sprinkles on the outside.
Each time Harris answered a question, she first looked down for the length of time necessary to read a text. Was Harris allowed to have a smart phone to assist her response.
Harris vows tougher approach on migration, supports weapons for Israel
By Andrea Shalal, Steve Holland and Stephanie Kelly
August 29, 2024
Summary
– Harris’ first formal interview since nomination
– Harris has moved to center on immigration, fracking
– Could name a Republican to cabinet if elected
– Harris leads Trump 45% to 41% in Reuters/Ipsos poll
SAVANNAH, Georgia/WASHINGTON, Aug 29 (Reuters) – Kamala Harris vowed a tougher approach to migration along the U.S. southern border and said she would not withhold weapons to Israel, in her first interview with a major news organization since becoming the Democratic nominee for president.
In the interview with CNN anchor Dana Bash, Harris sought to show she is in command of the issues and give Americans a sense of her policy positions with little more than two months until Election Day on Nov. 5.

They used to call it “flip flopping”. Now they call it “policy evolution”.
Yeah, its weird. Like Trump, when he was a democrat, was pro choice, then when he ran as a Republican, and needed those Evangelical votes, he became “pro-life”, and then now that abortion is actually unpopular and the public keeps voting to keep it, he’s going back to pro choice. It’s weird how that happens. I mean, that, candidates who want to get elected by the people, somehow change their positions to what the people want. Just weird.
None of that is true; Trump has never been a Democrat or a Republican, and has never taken a position on that issue.
You’re weird for repeating the word weird as many times as you can by the weird establishment cult you fawn over.
I’m beginning to believe that Trump may from Mars, or Hungary.
Klaatu barada nikto Enjoy your cream puffs while they last.
If KKKamala becomes next president
expect rapid decline in remaining freedoms of this once great country
now guaranteed fiat $dollar destruction of rapid/rabid nature
Like it or not, Kamala’s most likely the next President.
Trump’s strategy of alienating large blocks of voters isn’t going to work.
You have it the wrong way round.
Her values haven’t changed. As Border Czar, she let some10 million illegal aliens into the country. Despite claiming to finish the wall, she said nothing about deporting those who illegally entered the U.S. with Harris’s help. What does finish the wall even mean? A court recently ordered what Trump had authorized, to be finished.
‘Finish the wall’ means she is ‘finished with the wall.’ It will be removed, and bridges built over the Rio Grande
“Harris also said she would name a Republican to serve in her Cabinet if elected.”
She has a group of Republicans for Harris, to choose from. They turned their back on the Republican Party, so they would be a great fit for Harris.
So, what did you want Mish? A “gotcha” interview with a bunch of surprise questions that she couldn’t answer to make her look bad? That is the opposite of creampuff.
They asked her about Fracking and she said she’s changed her stance and that their admin did not “ban fracking” and that she wouldn’t in the future. And that allowing it to continue while continuing to promote and subsidize green energy initiatives is a perfectly acceptable way to proceed.
They asked her the stupidest question of all, “What will you do on day 1?” with an implication to “make things better”. Well the answer to that is that absolutely nothing, no change, happens on “Day One!!!” that alters the course of the future. You have to build consensus and work with enough people (from both sides of the aisle) in order to do anything meaningful legislatively. The “Day 1” question is just nonsense.
They asked her about “Bidenomics” and if she approved of their economic progress, and she said that she was proud of their accomplishments and looked forward to doing more. After the initial spike in inflation, it has come steadily down. People have had jobs, and, there is more to do. She said her focus is on the middle class and she won’t be giving tax reduction to corporations and wealthy people, but, spoke of the general theme that her efforts would be focused on helping the majority of people (middle and lower middle class citizens). So, in the end, what is wrong with any of that?
Of course, no media (neither right wing or left wing (or absurd MAGA wing)) ever asks anyone, “When and how are we going to turn around our deficit spending ways?”, even though virtually everyone thinks it’s a problem.
No one ever asks, if the Fed’s solution to inflation is to raise rates until it slows the economy and people start losing jobs, or can’t afford a house because the payments are too high, how does that actually benefit the people that need help (ie those people who are going to end up losing their jobs?).
And what about if all of this AI investment works, will it not put a huge amount of white collar paper pushing jobs out of existence? When that happens, what are the repercussions for the overall employment outlook?
So, you can badmouth “The Media” all you want, but, in reality we need politicians that actually will find a way to work together and be forward looking, and not this horrible confrontational “do nothings” that we’ve had for the past ten years. And, in the end, without saying, that is what I think Kamala Harris is basically running on.
but am i or am i not still a threat to democracy if I don’t care to vote for her?
You can vote for whoever you want to. Every citizen can and should.
That’s sidestepping the question.
The Democrat Party has overtly called vast swathes of the electorate a threat to democracy, whilst simultaneously indulging in attempting to exclude minor party candidates from the primaries and ballots, and indulging in overt and obvious election interference via spurious lawfare cases against their main rival, and whilst avoiding unscripted interviews, and whilst shovelling cash into the accounts of the industrial military complex to fund a dubious American war in Ukraine, and after bullshitting the whole world about unnecessary experimental vaccinations, gaslighting on race riots and protests against ballot harvesting on January 6th, and whilst indulging in rampant money laundering and corruption… Oh and dumping helicopter money funded by debt.. and breaking illegal immigration laws.. and attempting to censor citizens online..
The list in endless… This weird democrat cultish regime is like a banana republican party nothing to do with democracy. Just liars and morons – that’s the democrats.
They vilified those who reject them.
Ask her WHY exactly she’s changing her positions? Especially if she insists that she’s “not changing her values.” Ask her how she reconciles her values so that they’re consistent with two completely opposite policies?
Ask her why Biden/Harris let millions of ppl walk right into this country.
Ask her if she was aware of the schools, parks and public places in poor areas that were taken from the public’s use and converted to migrant shelters?
Ask her if she’s aware of any wealthy areas in America having any such public spaces shelters built in their communities?
Ask her why she didn’t do anything to close the border and deport the ppl she had let walk in after seeing the impact on poorer Americans?
Ask her why Biden/Harris thought pumping billions of dollars into the economy would NOT lead to inflation.
What we need is an MSM which isn’t in the pocket of the Democrat Party.
What is the highest rated television media in the country? Foxnews? Is it “in the pocket of the Democrat Party”? No, it spews nonstop propaganda against that very party and it’s candidates. So, whatever you call “MSM”, you have just as much blatant propaganda and “softball” interviews, coming from outlets that favor the right and the left. On both sides, it’s all nonsense to gain ratings by getting viewers riled up to hate the “other”, without ever really talking anything of substance.
the real benchmark today is for the politician him/her self. if you only do msm, you are afraid and likely dishonest. if you do free form podcasts (rarer by the day), you actually want to be heard and understood.
Fox is much more split between right-leaning “normal” democrats and RINO fake republicans. It’s not a rabid pro-trump channel like msnbc is a rabid anti-trump channel. It’s a fallacy and false equivalence to depict fox as some kind of counterbalance to the likes of cnn.
Nutjobs like joe Scarborough have their counterparts in the likes of alex jones.
How many executive orders did the Biden admin process/sign in the first seven days?
Here’s a hint: more than one, and less than four dozen.
Is that what you want?
What people want is the 25th amendment invoked for biden (and some honesty about his unfitness for work) and an iq test for kanala Harris and tim walz. There has to be some minimum standards for brain cells in candidates.
Methinks thou doth protest too much..
Join the farce. The Founders would be pissed. All that work forging a constitution without equal, resulted in this poor excuse for leadership.
I am reading comments here from people who ACTUALLY think that these dildo’s and dilDIDS mean what they say or are there for US!
Jesus, wake the hell up.
Precisely why I don’t vote. It’s a pointless waste of time, but here we are. Lots of people are looking for a savior, and there’s no shortage of montebanks who will ablige to offer them the moon.
Pretty soon even local elections will be a waste of time. The national ones are all culture war, hater horserace. RFK tried to uplift the policy discussion and the DNC ran him off with lawsuits and smear campaigns. So here we are. 2 for crap candidates
You should vote third party in protest.
If everyone that didn’t vote because it’s “a waste of time” voted third party, the wake-up call would be stunning. If this was combined with all the people that hate the person they vote for because they hate the other one more, the 3P would get in.
And oh boy, wouldn’t watching the MSM cope in that event be worth it? 😀
Vlad (the-impaler) Putin will appropriately punctuate her. We have a significant difference (three standard deviations) of IQ.
Some of your readers here are really STUPID. Count me in. I am here to learn.
How is this lady going to run the country if she cannot get through an 18 minute interview without an emotional support governor and an emotional support interviewer?
So long as that DAZZLING SMILE is painted on and well-practiced, people will vote her in and then the handlers handle it all from there.
Look, we have had a propped Mannequin of a man running things to date.
She’s not going to run anything, the continuity management team will be doing that.
I just recalled the word we used in H.S. Several Decades ago, which sums up Harris Perfectly!
“Air Head”
I spotted the valve long ago. Her treads are worn. It is all also HOT AIR.
*Point of view from an Italian*:
if Harris were to win (and even if you don’t believe it, she can win), a new January 6th is certainly in the cards because those who vote for Trump do not believe it’s possible that others see things differently. My question is: will the government take precautions this time?
If Harris does win, the last Jan 6th insurrectionists will at least stay in jail.
The insurrectionists do not exist. Those are all figments of a weak mind.
Just like everything else conservatives don’t like, it doesn’t exist, or it’s woke. Grow up.
Just like the Russian dossier didnt exist, or Meta trying to conceal the hunter biden laptop didnt extist.
The Democrats Jan6 commission was a sham. That is a simple fact. Insurrection has a specific definition, J6 doesn’t meet it.
Is this the same Randocalrissian who the Urban Dictionary refers to as: “A random guy who inserts himself into a conversation or shows up unexpectedly and acts like he belongs”? And operates out of https://randocalrissian.net? flogging assorted crap?
Oh good, nonexistent insurrectionists aren’t in jail.
Why all the complaining?
Gianni, keep on drinking that excellent Chianti… and try not think too much. I would sit down with you for a Glass and then explain that the crap you are reading and watching in the Mainstream has been fashioned for your weak-minded side.
INSIDE OF YOU ARE POTENTIAL CLARITY BRAIN CELLS: turn them on NOW!
Are you a member of the “only Trump can save us” tribe?
I think people are beginning to join the ‘critical thinking’ tribe.
Woke?
If this is the same RandoC from Reddit, he is playing his usual pea-brain games. Might be worth 30 seconds to block him
I’d love for someone to provide advice to US leadership, but Italy cant take care of itself, so thanks, but no thanks.
The ‘government’ took precautions last time. That story is just now emerging with new facts concerning the bombs. Stay tuned.
I also suspect if there is an ‘insurrection,’ the outcome will be somewhat different to 2020. The National Guard might even stand down.
Nothing happened on January 6th, a lot happened in the BLM riots, and kneeling to a drug addict criminal who died of an overdose.
Where do dat kinky haired girl gots her hair did?
LOL
you laughing is just sad.
She is Tamil Indian not Jerry curl. Her hair may not be frizzy at all
This just cements my belief that we need to give a white guy a chance.
Hasn’t worked since Reagan, every white president since then has been an atrocity. And I am only sparing him because I am on conservative turf here.
As bad as they all were Obama was far worse.
And it was a really, really short interview. Guess that’s all the “decent” material they had.
you mispelled “needed.” Do you understand how basic campaign strategy works? When you have an advantage, USE IT, don’t give it away.
Can you imagine the outtakes?
Cut! Cut! Ms. Harris, perhaps you might refrain from salivating at the cameraman’s crotch.”
Edward Dowd
@DowdEdward
Lots of commentary on Kamala Harris interview.
Yes she’s an abject dullard. Anyone with eyes to see knows this.
That’s not the point rather the point is we have a power structure that doesn’t care she’s an idiot and the majority know it.
They want you to think you are powerless and demoralize you.
It’s the revelation of the method.
One may wonder how traveling the U.S. extensively helps combat “climate change “. Those 17 flights to GA (not to mention all the commotion during her brief times on the ground) must have cost an awful lot of C offsets.
None of the above.
Perhaps in this sense: I will tell whatever lies I need to to win in November.

Why is Harris being held to a higher standard than anyone before her ? Elections are not about governing.
She’s only being held to any standard by most of us here (you being an exception). The media isn’t holding her to any standard at all. They’re promoting her shamelessly. We might get stuck with her as president just because Biden promised to pick a black woman as VP. If he’d have picked Val Demings of Florida, at least we’d have had a normal, sane, old-school democrat instead of this California fruitcake.
I haven’t seen Fox promoting her. Or even Newsmax.
How can someone be so serious and dumb at the same time?
Do you prefer unserious and dumb like her opponent ?
A plurality will likely choose neither.
Her opponents are the sane people of the US, so that makes you not her opponent
Not too many dumb billionaires.
Trump is a serious but undisciplined speaker. Kamala is a discplined but dumb speaker.
Would Trump ever agree to be interviewed by CNN even taped ?
Already has. Trump did have a town hall on VNN in 2023.He had an interview on CNN June 2016 with Chris Cuomo. Now let’s see Kamalatoe have an interview with some conservative.
Oops. Check your shit before charging into stupid online.
Next you’ll be asking if Vance would ever agree to be interviewed on CNN
Can’t wait until Sept 10th. Woohoo!
Jiminy Cricket, let’s hope she crashes & burns like Brandon 2.0.
Is she bringing her dad to that one, too? I mean Walz. Her real dad doesn’t like her.
Does she even know who her real dad is? Her mother was hardly a chaste lady
So she is saying that after 3 years Plus, she realizes that her opinion and positions on most all of the important issues we are facing are WRONG, and she is changing them. Why doesn’t she just say it….but no, if elected she will boomerang back to her eccentric left positions…..She is a disaster. DIdn’t see if Walz was holding her hand through the whole interview to provide support?
She didn’t say that. Read the transcript. CNN said that to make it look like she was thinking that.
You have insulted cream puffs and that is unforgivable.Creampuffs actually have substance and are sweet. Harris is neither of those things.
They’re both full of cream, though.
Never realized just how Dumb Harris truly is, at least I got the rebranding part right.
If they asked a real question it’s all over. Harris is unable to answer a real question.
How anyone expected it would be anything but is beyond me. CNN for the femocrats might as well be Pravda.
After Kamala’s word salad in a cream puff interview, Trump should agree to allowing the hot mike condition for the upcoming debate with Kamala. If he can shut up for an hour or two, Kamala will self destruct. The media will start comparing Kamala’s debate to Joe’s disaster. If your opponent wants to make unforced errors, LET THEM!
The state-run media-induced sugar high Harris received is, predictably, over. Polymarket’s wagering platform has Trump’s chances of winning at 50% vs, Harris at 48% with $768 million bet, a key reversal for you chart technicians.
Makes me think of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy where it was mentioned that someone survived a Vogon poetry reading by gnawing one of their own limbs off… I’m suddenly curious whether there might have been a statistically significant uptick in self-inflicted injuries during the airing?
Good point, I probably need to give the Mrs. the key to the gun case & the keys to my car.
if you are a democrat and you stand for this malarky, this candidate by default, rather than by primary, you are a bigger fool than your presidential candidate.
I voted Democrat once or twice, I’m glad I realized what they were about.
I’m registered independent, but I’m pretty sure that Democrat Door is closed forever, they appear to be a ship of fools.
Party of eggheads and drag queens.
Clowns to the left of me..jokers to the right..Here I am stuck in the middle with you.
Must not have been a very good interview, CNN didn’t break out the 48-point headline font.
Did you write this article before you wrote the earlier one Mish? Haha
My 93 year old mother just called and did watch this without diapers. She said it’s horse crap. LOL by the way, she lives in Georgia.
She shouldn’t be in charge of the country either. 93 year olds rarely have an up to date perspective on things. Neither do 78 year olds who want to drag us back to the 50’s.
Some are a bit different friend. I’m 75 and just finished producing a high performance probe for the future of USA technology (225GHz). My family has the habit of working until we drop. And yes, we were immigrants to this absolutely fabulous country. She’s a bit sharper than most I would say. I’m just a shadow of her by comparison. Not everyone can be measured by the same yardstick.
if that’s true, then what is the purpose of a yardstick?
Not by their words, but by their actions. How else shall we make the yardstick?
you’re the one who implied the yardstick is relative which, by definition, is false. I’m just trying to understand. maybe you should just try sticking with being so impressed with your own resume.
I am unimpressive, friend. Just fortunate to live in a nation in which I can thrive.
I’ll take the 50’s (less the KKK) over what lies ahead under Comrade Kackles any day of the week.
It is Democrats that want us to believe we still live in the segregated 50’s.
The reason why a “soft landing” is a fairy tale straight out of La-La-Land is all bubbles pop, and a “soft landing” is based on bubbles remaining unpopped. In the “soft landing” scenarios, mind-boggling bubbles remain at “permanently high plateaus” as gamblers rotate out of one soaring sector into another soaring sector, in an endless rotation that keeps the entire speculative bubble fully inflated forever–or close to forever, which in today’s world is a few years.
In March, 2002, two years after the dot-com bubble had topped out, Scott McNealy, co-founder and CEO of dot-com darling Sun Microsystems, wrote a now-famous encapsulation of the difference between strong fundamentals and a bubble:
“At 10 times revenues, to give you a 10-year payback, I have to pay you 100% of revenues for 10 straight years in dividends. That assumes I can get that by my shareholders. That assumes I have zero cost of goods sold, which is very hard for a computer company. That assumes zero expenses, which is really hard with 39,000 employees. That assumes I pay no taxes which is very hard. And that assumes you pay no taxes on your dividends which is kind of illegal. And that assumes with zero R&D for the next 10 years, I can maintain the current revenue run rate. Now, having done that, would any of you like to buy my stock at $64? Do you realize how ridiculous those basic assumptions are? You don’t need any transparency. You don’t need any footnotes. What were you thinking?”

What does this have to do with the subject? Mish should delete this post.
How about I post a video to the latest pro wrestling super slam?
Cuz the elections are also fake so who gives a f789.

Trump ain’t gonna save ya… collapse is BAKED IN
Lest we forget, Dana was married to Jeremy Bash, Chief of Staff at CIA under Leon Panetta in the Obama Admin. Good old Jeremy, a lawyer by trade, also signed the psyop letter by 51 Intel Community members declaring that Hunter’s laptop appeared to be Russian disinformation. Which Joe declared to be the case at one of the debates. Into the sea with all of them.
Into the sea with them.
Not sufficient!
Vampires sucking the blood of society must be slain thoroughly:
Stake thru the heart.
Then decapitation.
Then burned.
Finally, once they stop trying to get back together, you can scatter the ashes at sea!
The only relevant question is whether this interview helped, hurt, or was neutral for Harris. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the polling shows.
No one watches CNN unless they are in adult diapers
Or communists.
I don’t disagree, but other media outlets will report on the interview so it’s gonna get circulated and spun up 6 ways to Sunday by both sides of the isle.
Or stranded at a major U.S. airport.
Glad she brought her dad with her
Post of the day!
If only he’d brought a bicycle with training wheels.
That would have been EPIC!
Not a genetic fit.
And Walz’s answers were even more pathetically evasive than Harris’.
It’s clear he lied in claiming to have served in combat carrying a weapon in war – he had no response.
It’s clear he lied about prior drunk driving incident – he had no response.
What’s funniest is how he’d lied about fertility treatments – though I can see why he wouldn’t want anyone to know he had to have his own sperm mechanically injected into his wife’s uterus to get her pregnant (apparently they did IUI fertilization, but he claimed IVF which is the one where the eggs go in a test tube).
The man literally has no sense of honor or honesty.
I’m not taking Walz side but you do know that Trump is the other candidate? [rotflol]
We aren’t voting for Trump, we’re voting against you.
I hear you. But Trump’s bragging and exaggeration is not at the same level of dishonesty and evasion as what Walz did.
Can you see either Harris or Walz being capable of taking the media, Deep State and legal abuse that Trump has for 8 years? That has been well beyond normal political bounds, even for the US, and Trump can be excused a bit because of that.
Do you see either of Harris or Walz being the type to stand up after getting shot at, and bravely urge their supporters to stand firm?
I”m not pro-Trump, was seriously planning to vote RFK, but I’m definitely anti-DNC.
Be serious. DO you know how many people have sued and are suing Trump for dishonest business dealings?
