It took Trump just a few minutes after Biden dropped out of the presidential race to throw away votes.
Trump’s Truth Social Comment
Here is Trump’s comment on Truth Social after Biden dropped out.
“Crooked Joe Biden is the Worst President, by far, in the History of our Nation. He has done everything possible to destroy our Country, from our Southern Border, to Energy Dominance, National Security, International Standing, and so much more. He was annihilated in an Earth Shattering Debate, and now the Corrupt and Radical Democrats are throwing him overboard. He was not fit to serve from the very beginning, but the people around him lied to America about his Complete and Total Mental, Physical, and Cognitive Demise. Whoever the Left puts up now will just be more of the same. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Assist to Democrats
The Wall Street Journal accurately states Trump Gives an Assist to Democrats
His reaction to Biden’s decision was small-minded and divisive.
The 2024 election is Donald Trump’s to lose, and he may yet manage it. That was our reaction to his splenetic outburst on Sunday after President Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race.
It should have been an opportunity to show some class and judgment by welcoming the decision, warning U.S. adversaries not to take advantage of Mr. Biden’s last few months in office, and saying Vice President Kamala Harris will have to defend Mr. Biden’s failed record. Short and presidential, with a unifying tone.
Not Donald Trump. On Truth Social on Sunday after the announcement, the former President posted this: “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was! He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement. All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t – And now, look what he’s done to our Country . . .” And on down from there.
The Second Coming
Please recall the George Stephanopoulos – President Biden Interview on July 6.
“If the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get out of the race,’ I’d get out of the race. The Lord Almighty’s not coming down,” said Biden to Stephanopoulos.
It appears that the Lord Almighty has made an appearance. Either that or Nancy Pelosi.
Question of the Day
The following question is how many independents will see things:
“Would I rather have a jackass president who will get some things right, or would I rather take a chance on Harris?“
Let’s be honest about how Trump’s belittling sounds. If you don’t like the word “jackass” then feel free to substitute a word or phrase that suits you.
I do not know the answer to my question, and if you have an ounce of common sense, you will admit you don’t either.
Regardless, such statements will cost Trump votes.
Harris-Gretchen Whitmer / Harris-Josh Shapiro
What are the odds if the Democrat ticket is Kamala Harris and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer?
How about Kamala Harris and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro?
You don’t know and I don’t know. But we do know that it cannot possibly be any worse than the Biden-Harris odds.
Let’s Be Honest!
Nate Silver discussed the Harris odds on July 12 in The Case for, and Against, Kamala Harris
Let’s be honest: she’d probably be an underdog. But she’s still a better option than Biden.
Peak Trump?
Trump’s polling odds have peaked or soon will.
My statement implies nothing other than widespread belief that Harris-Anyone has a better shot than Biden-Harris.
Trump Prefers Loyalty Over Winning
Not only did foot-in-mouth disease cost Trump the 2020 election, stupid Trump loyalty picks cost Republicans the Senate as well (Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania).
Despite the above, many of my delusional readers tell me it’s impossible for Trump to lose to Harris.
Good News for Democrats: Throw the Polls Out, Start All Over
In case you missed it, please see Good News for Democrats: Throw the Polls Out, Start All Over
Today, Biden dropped out of the race under intense pressure. Yet, it’s still an uphill battle for the Democrats. How does it change the odds?
Trump is doing everything he can right now to lose. Will it be enough? I think not (at least at the moment).
Please see the above link for further discussion of the odds that depend on who Harris picks for VP.
The Big Lie
There are a several things that will help Trump. The first is obvious. Harris is widely disliked.
Second, Harris was part of the big lie. She covered up for Joe, for years.
Democrats are better better off with Harris than Biden. But they would be even better off with someone who was not widely disliked and also part of the the big lie.
Recession
Finally, my base case is the economy is in recession already.
Even if Harris did not have excess baggage, a recession coupled with a weakening economy for the next three months would be hard to overcome.
On July 8, I commented Weak Data Says a Recession Has Already Started, Let’s Now Discuss When
Since then, more weak data hit the fan.
I tie the economic picture together in Three Top Reasons Mortgage Delinquencies Are Rising
It’s an uphill battle for Harris. But that is no excuse for recklessly throwing away votes that may also influence downstream voting.

Does anyone feel they can afford another 4 years of Democratic rule? That’s 4 more years of your precious lifespan forfeited. Trump at least is not a “professional politician”.
Remember what Trump has had to endure since 2016, and is still currently faced with – a classless onslaught of baseless lies and insults! Sure, he has always been salty at best, but the responses that you hear today are from the beast that THEY created.
Trump is a disgusting human being. Biden is out of the race; given the circumstances it would have cost Trump nothing to yes, take a swipe at Biden, but do it in a more classy and dignified way. Even people who agree with Trump’s policies are revolted by the type of person he is… enough not to vote for him because of his character.
Think about it… would you raise your kids with our potential national leader as a role model to look up to and emulate? If everyone did, we we would not have a functioning society! It’s just sad.
It’s interesting when Mish only seems to point out when Trump makes a comment, that it costs him votes with independents , but never does he say the reverse, when democrats including Biden , Harris, et al, call him fascist, racist, or a whole variety of really demeaning vitriol, they seem to get a pass, in fact it garners them more votes from independents. Every time Trump hits back, you suggest that he just lost votes. What say you Mish? Does Trump just take it, and somehow that will gain him more support from independents. If independents are that fickle and are turned off by someone for standing up for themselves, then are they really independent?
This is because I really, really, really am secretly in love with Harris and Biden.
If go back through all my posts you have all the evidence you need.
Possibly there is another explanation.
Perhaps I just want Trump to take his foot out of his mouth but prefer Kamala keep hers there.
calling Trump a jackass is using a euphemism.
Kamala might have a chance IF she can keep from laughing. Otherwise I think its done, stick a fork in it.
People that do not like Trump will take any opportunity to say something negative. Trump’s comments will have negligible impact on his votes. People better vote for policies and not personalities. Biden’s policies are Harris’ priorities and she can not run away fro. 3+ years of doing nothing.
That attitude cost Trump the election in 2020 and the Senate on top of it.
So … care to think a bit more carefully?
I suspect not, but try.
From a strategic standpoint the best thing Dems can do is have Biden resign so that Harris can have a test drive as president. You never know–enough people may get used to it that she can win.
I sympathize with that view and it can easily be correct.
It was my first thought too.
But it would also take away campaign time.
I suspect that Dems are loath to lose ‘1st Woman President’ as a campaign carrot. If she has already achieved that, there is less to draw voters to the polls for a big first with this DEI identity politics milestone. They might even want to save it for a future election, should Trump win in November.
Moreover, they probably like that anything bad that happens to the country or the world between now and November, can be put onto Biden, who is now their disposable puppet patsy.
I predict that Harris is going to be sworn in as president within the next 48 hours. Something is seriously wrong with Biden and he can’t go on. Streets were cleared and a Nevada hospital was put on high alert to receive Biden as a patient last Wednesday, then all the sudden he was taken home to Delaware instead to self isolate.
Just now, Biden’s doctor said he’s about fully recovered from Covid and yet, there’s no two-minute video addressing the nation from his basement or a quick wave from his front yard?
Edited to add link to LV hospital article:
https://news3lv.com/news/local/las-vegas-hospital-on-stand-by-to-treat-president-biden-during-covid-19-diagnosis
That sounds like a great plan, depending on whether they expect Harris to do a good job as president. And, notice the repubs want her to be president for a while. So, it appears the democrats think she’d flub the tryout. And the repubs think she’d flub the tryout. We have bi-partisan agreement!
With the apparent Harris coronation by the Dem politicos, we have returned to the era of smoke filled back room politics.
Just as they used a sham primary process to anoint Joe Biden for a 2nd term, they are now doing similar with Kamala Harris.
With this Dem party, the people do not get a say in who heads their ticket.
There is no “taking a chance” on Harris. Nothing will change with her related to Biden’s priorities. She will tack further left than Biden, will distribute more taxpayer money to the DEI, homeless, welfare, minority supporting factions of the Dem party. If you were happy with Biden’s actions as president, you will happy with Harris.
I will not vote for her.
Trump’s remarks show a real lack of class, besides being a great blunder. De mortuis nihil nisi bonum, “Do not speak ill of the dead” (free translation). Biden showed alot of moral courage to drop out of the race, I’ll give him that. How many other politicians have stayed in office many years after they were semi-vegetables?
The payoff or the threat finally became large enough for Biden to opt out.
Seriously, where is Biden? He hasn’t been seen in days and his brother Frank made a cryptic comment about “enjoying whatever time we have left.” Is Biden on his deathbed or already dead?
It’s certainly possible. My guess is that he feels pretty rotten emotionally and physically and when he does give a speech he doesn’t want to do a rerun of the debate, who would? Go out as a winner, so to speak.
Biden has or just had covid.
Duh. I’m well aware of what we’re being told, but something doesn’t seem right.
The only reason Josh Shapiro is mentioned is because he’s the governor of Penna. No other reason. He follows the Democrat party line.
If you are so bothered by what Trump says which is Truth and allow yourself to get gaslighted so easily because Trump speaks about things that are unpleasant and oohy gooy that’s just yucky, then do not complain about how screwed up the US of A has become.
This is exactly right.
It’s exactly as idiotic as me telling you that your daughter is a whore while expecting your vote.
It offends anyone with a tad bit of common sense.
This Administration is way beyond deserving of any sympathy or cordiality.
Far too much blood on their hands.
This is not a fiction book story. There are corpses all over the Globe because of Joe Biden.
How many more people end up dead because Joe Biden administration is such a Fuck Up as President?
If we want to be honest about Trump’s style we can best describe it as a two edged sword. I believe it plays well to working class people, blacks, hispanics and other people who would not normally vote Republican in the past. I think it’s the primary reason why he’s gained support with those groups. He’s a back alley boaster. I’ve mentioned before that you can compare it to Muhammad Ali’s style which was similar from the aspect of being boastful. People can get behind a fighter.
Of course there are the people who outright don’t like it – they are largely college educated and skew female. Trump will lay into somebody man or woman alike – that’s one of the things this group absolutely hates about him. He doesn’t give a sh!t about the female skewed dichotomy in the West (especially the Anglophone world) where women are allowed to be as shrill and nasty as they want to a man but a man isn’t allowed to ‘swing’ back. Trump swings back. Just the fact that I even mention this as a positive will, for some people, cause them to label me misogynistic. Goes to show you. What remains to be seen is what proportion of independents can go along with this or at least not be turned off by it. That part is anyone’s guess. I’m an independent with strong social and fiscally conservative personal leanings however I don’t like statism or groupthink – probably I’m closest to the LeFevre idea of autarchism. In these elections I tend to vote R because I just can’t stand Progressivism in general – so I hold my nose a bit at the evangelical issues that hold so much sway in the party. Nothing is perfect. Trump has my vote.
If one thinks the suburban, educated women would ever change their minds about Trump and vote for him I can assure you they would never do that. It would be delusional to think otherwise.
It might seem like a bunch of gratuitous insults on Joe’s way out, but on the other hand it might be preparation work to focus the attack on Joe’s replacement, who will no doubt not be a departure from the same policies. So in a way it could be smart to keep the focus on attacking the policies, so the overall campaign can just shift to the next candidate. I can see the ads now: “Just like Joe”.
Yeah, it could be. I’m way more amenable than some to Trump’s belligerent style. But anything overdone can be negative too. He’d have done better to emphasize the 3-1/2 media gaslighting operation about Joe’s fitness without the ‘worst president in history’ thing.
“…widespread belief that Harris-Anyone has a better shot than Biden-Harris…”
widespread belief? among FarLeft partisans, maybe.
polls indicate the opposite, specifically Harris’ weakness – she polls lower than Biden in EVERY STATE THAT MATTERS.
other sites & sources are citing polls & research that indicate a Harris-led ticket is doomed… hardly “widespread belief”.
Those here believing Harris = improvement are going to be surprised & disappointed.
I fully expect Trump’s lead in the polls to be greater in Sept. than July, esp. in the swing states.
Never interfere when your enemy is losing.
For a minute, it seemed Trump was smart enough to stand back and let the dynamics play out in his favor. Had he kept is mouth shut, everybody would be into the Dems blowing up instead of distracted by more Trump-trash-talk.
A great piece of Sun Tzu wisdom
“Class and judgement” is not something anybody will ever associate with Trump. In this context, there seems to be a clip around where JD Vance in 2016 suggested that MAGA stands for Make A-holes Great Again. It’s obvious he meant Trump, and he was right.
If the Dems manage to get a relatively normal candidate in, the relief rally throughout the country may well propel him/her to election success.
We would also be switching from a more traditional “who do you dislike less” dynamic, which could elicit a tremendous surge of support.
Harris is very unlikeable, so that dynamic is not going away
I thought we were getting a relatively normal candidate with Biden and what we got was a woke radical.
Trump has been well underwater from a “negatives” polling standpoint. Watch the negatives polling. I think Trump’s negatives will be meaningfully more underwater than Harris’. The election always comes down to two things: turnout and undecided voters. Biden threatened Democrat voter turnout; the change to Harris/? will energize the Democrat voters and spike turnout. Having lower negatives compared to Trump will give Harris/? the edge with undecided voters.
She doesn’t have lower negatives than Trump
The latest polling results from NBC and her negatives should go down with the polling post-Biden’s withdrawal. Negatives: Trump 53%, Harris 50%.
The president’s most important job is to protect us from our enemies. A jackass just might be the best person for the job.
This is an important consideration. Trump picked a VP with military experience in a time where America is fighting 2 proxy wars (Ukraine / Middle East) and China is doing some sabre rattling over Taiwan. I see that as a huge plus since Trump is not a military guy.
So will the Dems pick someone with military experience for their ticket. If they don’t, it’s an easy point to hammer them on and if they go with a dual female ticket it’s an even bigger point.
We will no longer be fighting a proxy war in Ukraine if Trump is elected. It is one of the better reasons for voting for him, actually.
The Ukraine is a war the West cannot lose. For me, that outweighs everything else, I wish it didn’t. I really don’t get the opposition of some Republicans to aid. If nothing else, when the Soviet Union broke up the Ukraine gave the nukes on its territory to Russia on the condition that the US would protect it from being invaded by anyone. I don’t see Putin invading Poland or the Baltics next (WWIII anyone? Article 5?) but China is watching and if the West won’t stand up for Ukraine they’ll take Taiwan. Hard to say what will happen after that but I guarantee it will be a disaster for the US and the West.
How about Pete Buttigieg?
Mish shows only “inhumane” pictures of Trump since 2016.
Trump should be more humane more of the time and he wouldn’t be in such bad situations.
He’s an angry loudmouth who spews hate and self aggrandizing rhetoric constantly.
People are sick of hearing him.
70%+ of the US didn’t want a Biden / Trump Election. Most of us got our wish.
It’s time to send the old farts out to pasture and bring in someone newer and less angry.
Mish, please don’t return to your NeverTrumperIsh prissiness about Trump’s style. It is who he is and is what many of us like about him.
The majority of the people in America don’t like his angry hate filled rhetoric and self aggrandizement. 70%+ of the people in the country didn’t want a Biden / Trump race. They got their wish.
its ok to be mistaken, as you are right now
Did anyone think the trumpster would do otherwise? Expecting him to do the wise/prudent thing is like expecting the fed to act in the public’s best interest.
I wonder if Harris is actually Roger “Verbal” Kint in this story. I certainly hope not.
What if she stops giggling and talking baby talk all of a sudden?
This is what makes Trump so endearing. It was a genius post that ties Joe Biden to the democrats who propped him up for so long. Whoever replaces Joe will have to carry his baggage. Trump is masterfully pinning Joe’s disaster on his replacement.
Nonsense. He’s an angry old hate filled man who just wants people to pander to him. Trump has never been endearing to most of the country. Mish is correct that he botched this tweet and will likely continue to do so.
People wanted a different election than Biden / Trump. Their wish was granted. Plenty of people just went away from Angry Orange Man in one fell swoop.
you are mistaken again, but we still like you. He’s a loving father, look at his family. Then look at Brandon’s. case settled
Nobody is going to go towards Harris. She’s an extremely unlikeable California liberal
It was an act of God. The Lord Almighty made it rain and Biden got paid.
Trump would have been better off ignoring the whole Biden announcement. Thinking Joe for sending legal teams and using law fare doesn’t deserve any acknowledgement from Trump . Joe’s legacy was trash and always will be medicore
I wonder if Harris will play the lawfare card and start randomly referring to Trump (like Warren) as “that felon.”
It will be interesting to see how much the gloves come off if she gets the nomination. And I mean by both camps.
The Dems have taken great glee in pointing out Trumps faults (bogus felony conviction, dalliance with Stormy etc). I wonder what would happen if the Republicans dig up a few of Kamala’s old lovers (including possible people she slept with to get ahead) and had them start talking about what went on in the bedroom. Would that be fair game based on what he’s enduring?
Trump may not have been very gracious or diplomatic but Biden and team were a wrecking crew whose damage will be long term and/or permanent. Trump will learn that booting millions of illegals out of the country is easier said than done.
But I do not think he will push the “Russia, Russia, Russia” card.
“Despite the above, many of my delusional readers tell me it’s impossible for Trump to lose to Harris.”
That statement caught my attention. I have a suggestion, Mish, please refer to us as “The Delusionals.” That would be akin to the high thinking of Clinton who used the term: “DEPLORABLES.”
Honestly, even IF some of us are delusional, it follows that it is delusional to think that VOTING makes a big difference for those of us who do not vote. America is not, and has not been, a “Representative Republic” unless that label fits the definition of the DEEP STATE spending money similar to water flows over a cliff.
Many of us who are NOT INTO POLITICS, due to its lack of representation, could not care any less what a Politician Says.
WHAT WE CARE ABOUT IS WHAT THEY DO!
Why not choose this term instead, Mish:
DISILLUSIONALS.
Voting in Federal elections simply demonstrates that you haven’t been paying attention.
Mish identifies as a libertarian, which is a hypothetical political position. He did leave the deeply blue-state of Illinois (“Get out while you still can!”), which is notable, but I suspect that he is fiscally conservative, but liberal otherwise. Hence, his comments.
I recall Mish being quite the authoritarian during the Covid hysteria.
Follow the money – property taxe$ in Illinois, esp. Chicago metro / collar counties. Gasoline retail price in IL vs WI, IA, IN is a function of taxes, not RBOB. IL taxes are mainly a function of ridiculous government worker salaries, benefits and pensions and connected contractors and vendors on public projects and contracts.
I’m going to have to pass on this and audience. Like your other works – econ, etc.
Trump failed assassination “conspiracy” will forever stick to Saint Joe, like JFK. Wall street boiling rooms and computers monitors are their casino. Trump bets in locker rooms and cages in front of his spectators.
Right. Because a mental kid from a Super Trumper family (scored .99 on the Trump “who can we manipulate with ads” gun index,) took a shot at Trump, missed and killed one and wounded two. So it was Joe.
Thomas Crooks dad is libertarian. His mums is D. He might have 3 foreign
bank accounts. Gen Z are glued to their cell phones. His phone was cleansed.
WSJ for the elite. Wall street traders are taking body shots and bleed every day. WSJ editors and journalists are useless for traders.
This is opinionated drivel. Trump was right.
Is it time to move on? Everyone to go post-Mish?
I’m getting there… the economic analysis is shallow, and the political notes are both ridiculous and provincial.
Joe F-ing Biden instigated and fed the war in Ukraine killing 500,000 Ukrainians and destroying that country. He has supplied endless weapons to Israel so they can commit a genocide. He has open the border and let millions of aliens stream in causing social problems and economic drain that will last for decades. He has promoted the most vile material in schools targeting young children and then sicced the justice department on parents trying to protect their children from being sexualized. And Mish wants to play nice with this creep? FJB! FI!
Exactly. And I said to some liberals I know, where are all your anti war protestors?? They Hyprocicy on the left knows no bounds.
I cannot stand them
Having said that, I kind of agree with Mike here.
This was just not necessary………People are starting to open their blind eyes and see
He should have taken the high road and not said anything
“And I said to some liberals I know, where are all your anti war protestors?”
One of, perhaps the, most reliable traits of genuinely retarded idiots, is that “Thiiiingz are diiiifereeent thiiiiis tiiiiiime.” For those whose capacity for abstract reasoning simply does not extend to recognizing that 2+2 being 4, also implies that 2 horses plus 2 horses also equals 4 horses, and that the same also holds for cars, and for milk gallons etc.; WW2, The War Between the States, “The War on Terror” and on “Drugs”, as well as any other war which Dear Leader says is Politically Correct, will always be diiiiferent and, like, you know……
The abject morons simply do not have the grey matter to comprehend how singularly stupid being supposedly anti-WAR; yet still cheering glibly for any conceivable actual war, makes them appear, to all and any of the planet’s more intellectually advanced species.
While Biden may not have been the worst President, he was darn close. I thought Trump’s assessment was not that far from the mark. What’s he supposed to do, forget howJoe Fing Biden has attempted to destroy him and throw him in jail. The Dims have been engaging in nastiness for the past 8 years, now all of a sudden Trump is supposed to play nice. F Joe Biden! May he rot in pain and agony in the 9 circles of hell.
Pure projection by Trump: 194 presidential historians concluded that Trump was the worst president in U.S. history. The historians actually know something about this topic.
Anyone who isn’t a libtard historian knows FDR was the worst President.
FDR is always in the top 3.
Links please!
Here we are:
https://presidentialgreatnessproject.com/
“While Biden may not have been the worst President..”
Yes he was. There’s no _may_not_ about it.
The latest President has always been the worst. Going back at least well over 150 years.
And In four years: Trump, or Harris, will have set a new low: Government bigger, the debt greater, Americans poorer and less free, China; and increasingly the rest of (South-)East Asia; and even Russiaand others; will be even further ahead on any meaningful metric.
The real world, practical difference between a Biden, Trump or Harris presidency, is +- 2% tops. While China is running away at, at least, 20%/year.
Biden is not the problem. Just another symptom. “The System”; meaning absolutely every.single.facet.of.all.of.it.without.any.exception, is the problem. Nothing will get better, until that entire giant zero-redeeming-qualities nothing-but-a-tumor is completely eradicated, wholesale. Biden to Trump doesn’t even qualify for rearranging Titanic deckchairs status, as far as significance is concerned.
I disagree. While not a Trump fan, he is infinitely better than Biden. His major weak spots are decorum, big spending and support for Israel.
Sorry, Circle 8 is already reserved for Trump. In any case, logically, you can only rot in one of the 9 circles.
But who is choosing to vote for Trump based on how nice his social media posts are?? Very few. Mean Tweets (which are true) are nothing compared to the policy differences, rescuing the economy, reforming the deep state agencies, and stopping and preventing wars. The DC Dems have done everything to weaponize the justice system against Trump and his supporters, and then they set him up for assassination. Some mean Tweets are warranted, based on what Biden and Harris have done to him, and to this country. Trump speaks for many.
Trump speaks for himself and ONLY himself. It’s the ONLY thing he cares about. There are people who could actually be swayed to vote for him if he just shut up about himself and “The BIG Lie”. He LOST the election and he can’t stand being a loser. He needs adulation and isn’t capable of actually thinking about anything except what is good for him.
Lock them all up …
As an Independent voter, and someone who doesn’t like all the vitriol coming from the Dems and Reps., I agree, Trump’s response to Biden stepping down was not good for the unity we need as it continues to perpetuate the divide. With that said, I watched the live speech given by Robert Kennedy Jr. which was the complete opposite of Trump’s statement. In addition, he spoke about the issues that Biden and Trump would not, do not, address because their policies and divisive is what led us to where we are today as a country, broken…financially and spiritually. https://youtu.be/qKSxSQqxU5E?si=bNFOKBK0W0_-evKg
Kennedy is personally a fine man, but his policy ideas are probably even worse than what would come out of a Harris debacle of a presidency.
You’re selling a Harris administration awfully short.
What was he supposed to say? “I thank President Biden for his service to our nation”? The guy’s a fucking crook who had his son shaking down foreign countries for bribes. He’s also an imbecile who’s surrounded himself with imbeciles like Blinken and Sullivan and brought us to the brink of nuclear war. He wanted millions of people to get fired if they didn’t subject to worthless (at best) and unproven gene therapy shots. Trump just survived the latest deep state attack on him, so he may not feel like making nice. I doubt this comment in July will affect many votes in November. Plus, it might be a good idea to stop any “Joe was a noble servant” crap before it gets traction.
Yes, he should have said it and been polite. It’s good sportsmanship even if your opponent is a cheater and a liar and a rogue. However, you are probably right: what is said now will be largely forgotten in just a few weeks if not days. Also, even if Trump had proved nice, I seriously doubt that he’d be getting much credit beyond the WSJ for doing so.
This is why the majority of voters will vote against him. He can’t shut up when it matters most. He’s a liar and a fraud and could win easily if he wasn’t so foolish and angry. The majority of voters are sick of hearing him rant and pretend that he’s interested in anything but himself and more money and power.
severe TDS.
“majority”? look at the polls, fool.
Trump wins in a landslide. Re-think your life.
Throw the polls away
Fresh set needed
True. We won’t really know until couple weeks after the democrat convention. I’ll agree with the “act presidential” prescription in this way: he needs to try as hard as possible to not call her a cunt.
Throw the “pols” away. Fresh set needed.
Positively, Donald Trump is an extremely Dishonest man, nevertheless, we still trying to FIND a solution to help us who’s going to be the more Decent president, and Capable to FIX so many issues that our country is critically Facing. Positively, not Kamala, nor perhaps Trump, Mr. Kennedy doesn’t add neither.
Despite what any of the polls say, this race was always going to be close no matter who the Democrat nominee is and will come down to the same few states in play last time. Democrats are largely voting against Trump and not for any particular candidate. Trump has probably hit his ceiling with Independents so it will come down to whether the Democrats can get enough people out in the few states that really matter.
The Democrats are relieved because they dumped Biden. But after the initial relief wears off, they’ll realize that they chose a candidate just because she polls better than Biden in matchups against Trump.
What happens if the polls turn against Harris before the August convention? Will they dump her then?
Regarding whether Trump lost votes with his stupid comments. I’m not so sure about the. That’s just the way he is. He won’t magically turn into a statesman overnight. You’re going to get a NY wise guy, he’s not going to change.
Why can’t Trump control his mouth? I’m voting for him only because he is the lesser of two evils.
Agree whole heartedly. Sometimes it is better to keep one’s mouth shut. Look at Biden…he sunk his campaign by opening his mouth at the debate and other recent forums. Trump has had momentum since the debate and the assassination attempt. Now is not the time to blow that momentum by coming up with stupid & antagonizing statements.
The next time Trump acts Presidential will be the first time he has ever done so
Everyone knows what they are going to get with Trump and no one cares. This is not your grand father’sCamelot. It’s 2024. Wake Up!!!
It’s gonna take more than A miracle for Kamala Harris to be elected president …
~60% of the American electorate want nothing to do with a Trump or DNC Presidency & yet that’s what we’re going to get so does it really matter what you or I think. The forces arrayed against meaningful change are nearly omnipotent & will remain so until such a time as when we really hit bottom. The system will not fix the system & individuals can tinker at the edges until the cows come home but we have deep structural issues, not the least of which being all 3 branches of the American gov’t have gone rogue for the most part. Other than polling few of us have been canvassed about any issue in decades and if we have we’ve been ignored. Until we face up to the fact that we have lived in an plutocratic dictatorship going on 2 centuries now there will be no change. Larry Fink in charge of the Treasury? Oh yea, that’s a good idea – not.
60% of people will be happy it’s NOT Trump or Biden.
We want to move on from Old men, especially Angry Orange ones.
You can’t handle the truth. Nothing in his statement is incorrect. In addition to terrible policy decisions, Biden wanted Trump in prison. Biden’s selection for head of USSS almost got Trump murdered. Yeah, I’d say it was a bit personal. I’d lose some respect for Trump if he did say something nice about Biden.
Yeah and your daughter is a ninny and a fool.
That is how Trump comes across
Yeah it’s very presidential
I don’t know who will win and I don’t care. I simply adjust my investments to account for either possibility. Currently raising cash levels to take advantage of the inevitable opportunities that will arise in the heat of the campaign and election.
So much time is wasted by so many on this daily soap opera. I prefer to focus my time on improving my life. Gotta go. Time for my run. Have a good day everyone.
It’s going to be very hard to sympathize with you when they come to confiscate your assets. You’re the poster-child of everything the communists say capitalism is.
Move along. Nothing to see here.
That’s okay. I wouldn’t want your sympathy. But I will gladly read what you are investing in and why.
It came to me last night about the border and the 10 million illegals. The Dems are playing the long game. It’s not about the illegals voting, it’s about their children voting. Let’s assume half the illegals are women or female children. How many were pregnant when they crossed? How many children will each female have while she’s waiting for her court date 8-9 years from now? They will become US citizens, you know. If it’s 2 kids each, that’s another 10 million new illegal/citizens.
That just came to you last night?
“The Long March Through The Institutions” – Rudi Dutschke
They are no different than CEOs, who mostly focus On the short game because that’s where shareholders will get rid of them if they don’t. They’re playing the senate allocation game. The only votes they hope to gain right now from the mass illegal immigration are sympathy votes from Hispanics that are citizens. Everything else is a tossup how it might play out.
“…The first is obvious. Harris is widely disliked…”
I made the exact same comment about Harris yesterday. The reason she’s so disliked, IMHO, is because she’s fake. Most politicians are good at inconspicuously feeling out others and morphing into someone that appeals to their audience. Harris simply does not have this skill. She’s awful at it, and it shows. Voters don’t like a chameleon who can’t seeminglessly change and fool them.
I don’t believe even the Internet has sufficient space to denote all of K.Harris’s problems. She’s unlikable, She’s damn near unlistenable in a position that requires a great communicator. She’s a blatant hypocrite, talentless, lazy and has not accomplished anything through actual effort.
That said, none of that would make her unelectable in our current system of smoke and mirrors.
I think it comes down to, “is it worth the effort?” on the part of the kingmakers?
I’m sure there are more viable candidates they can polish with their millions of pac dollars.
I think Kamala is a placeholder, to endure only as long as needed until the real replacement can be manipulated into position and then she will get the Covid and tweet out her resignation and her acceptance of a position on the board of Facebook/Meta or some other “fiscal buyout” like a 100 million dollar book/movie deal..
Stomp on evil Democrats. Never give a sucker an even break.
