Kamala Harris Forced to Make Her Case Because Biden Won’t Make It

The unofficial campaign for Kamala Harris has started. Credit Harris for the hoot of the day. She says “Everyone fully aware of my capacity to lead.”

Image of Kamala Harris on Air Force 2 courtesy of the Wall Street Journal, caption mine.

Ready to Serve

In the wake of a disastrous week for Biden, Kamala Harris is forced to present a case for herself because it’s clear Biden is senile to last another term.

The Wall Street Journal notes Kamala Harris Says She Is Ready to Serve as Biden Faces Age Scrutiny

Vice President Kamala Harris was detailing her priorities for the campaign during a flight on Air Force Two early last week when she was asked a delicate question hanging over the Democratic ticket: Do voters’ concerns about President Biden’s age mean she must convince them she is ready to serve?

“I am ready to serve. There’s no question about that,” Harris responded bluntly. Everyone who sees her on the job, Harris said, “walks away fully aware of my capacity to lead.”

There is no serious talk of replacing Biden on this year’s presidential ticket, Democratic officials say, pointing to the filing deadlines for primary ballot access that have already closed. In the unlikely circumstance that Biden withdraws as the Democratic nominee, Harris would still have to earn the required delegates to take his place at the party’s convention in August. If it were to happen after the convention, a special meeting of the Democratic National Committee would decide the party’s presidential ticket, according to the DNC’s rules.

Harris recently visited a Milwaukee suburb for the first stop of her abortion-rights campaign tour. After the Dobbs decision, Wisconsin’s 1849 state law banning abortion was reactivated.

Harris said in the interview her upbringing prepared her to not shy away from talking about abortion openly. She was raised by a mother who worked as a breast-cancer researcher and made women’s reproductive health a frequent topic of conversation. “She was talking about hormones at the dinner table all the time,” she said with a laugh.

Turning more serious, Harris added: “This stuff should not exist in the shadows. We don’t talk about it and then people suffer, because women aren’t supposed to talk about these things.”

Abortion Won’t Decide This Election

Most of the rest of the article was about abortion rights except for a couple of paragraphs about Palestinian rights and the Mideast.

Harris is now an an abortion tour. But abortion was a midterm issue. The issues now are the border, inflation, the Mideast, and China.

The idea that everyone is aware of her capacity to lead is more than a bit of a joke.

Biden appointed her the border czar and Harris immediately went into hiding. Biden may have thought the border issue would blow over. Then again, he may have been delusional about her ability to do anything.

Harris will soon be forced out into the open because it’s increasingly likely Biden won’t make it to November. And even if Biden can last until the election, everyone does know what’s next.

Biden Too Senile to Stand Trial

On February 9, I commented  Special Council Concludes President Biden Is Too Senile to Stand Trial

Some questioned my use of the word “senile”. But look up the definition: “having or showing the weaknesses or diseases of old age, especially a loss of mental faculties.”

Does that definition fit or not?

Damage Control Does More Damage

The damage control soon began. But it backfired with a disastrous Biden interview when he discussed red and green states, and confused the president of Mexico with Egypt and events in Gaza.

For details, please see Let’s Do a Fact Check on Biden’s Laughable Damage Control

And on the border, Biden Proposes Ankle Bracelets and Commands Will Solve the Immigration Problem

Is Harris capable of talking about anything but abortion?

We are going to find out. It will be impossible to keep Harris and Biden in hiding until the election.

Expect a Supreme Court Ruling 9-0 or 8-1 in Favor of Trump, Then What?

On the other side of the coin, there’s a strong chance Trump loses at least one felony case in D.C. or Georgia.

For discussion, please see Expect a Supreme Court Ruling 9-0 or 8-1 in Favor of Trump, Then What?

I expect good news for Trump next week, likely a unanimous ruling, on narrow grounds. Then what? That’s a very different subject.

On February 6, a federal appeals court ruled that Donald Trump is not immune from prosecution for alleged crimes he committed during his presidency.

Is Trump Guilty?

Here’s the problem: The issue is not whether you think Trump is guilty. Rather, the issue is whether the prosecution can convince a D.C. jury that Trump is guilty.

D.C. is not the friendliest of places for Trump to face trial.

Can the prosecution convince a D.C. jury that Trump tried to remain in power despite losing the election?

The Real Question

Would a majority of Americans, not just Republicans, look past two criminal convictions? One?

What a disastrous set of choices for independents and swing voters to decide

So we are finally going to rid America, of arguably the worst President in our Country’s history, and we’re going to replace him, with arguably the worst Vice President in our Countries history…

This is what is called “Progressive” by these lunatics? Seems more like how low are we actually willing to take ourselves. I understand the Dems can’t stand the Republicans slogan “Make America Great” but replacing that slogan with the Democrats slogan “Make America a Cesspool” isn’t doing it for
Me…

Short of just making them up, It baffles me to no end, how Biden isn’t at 2% approval and Harris at 1% and that’s being generous!

Well, two days before Putin invaded Ukraine, she did provoke him by saying Ukraine should join NATO.

Seems to me it reads more like this:

Of course the answer would be No!

“Everyone “Is” fully aware of my capacity to lead”

Of course that would be a pipe dream of make believe.

She may have meant to say it that way, but who knows what’s in that head of hers, besides gravy?

Seems Harris had Myorkas as a mentor, as he was pretending there was no border crisis and now pretends he inherited the crisis from the previous administration.

I’ll go ahead and write something here that I wrote to a group of (Republican) friends recently. It’s my silly wild-ass prediction for 2024. And I’ll stick by it unless Biden actually makes it to the finish line in November.

  1. Biden is going to drop out of the race sometime near (but before) the DNC convention. The convention will then nominate a replacement who hasn’t won a single delegate in a brokered convention. Harris? That would be a laugh, but not impossible. Gruesome Newsom? Perhaps. Or somebody else that we’re not thinking of (like my governor, Bozo, er, Beshear).
  2. Because of the turmoil on the Democratic ticket, and perhaps a weak candidate if it’s Harris, RFK Jr will be the first independent candidate to pick up electoral votes in the modern era. He was polling well in New Hampshire against Biden until the DNC pulled the rug out from under his campaign, so this is quite possible.
  3. Because of 1 and 2, Trump will win the election. I don’t know who you’re talking to, but everyone I know on that side of the aisle will vote for Trump, convicted felon or not. In fact, the persecution he’s facing makes those Trumptards want him back even more.

There was more to my predictions, but that will suffice for now. Of course, it all hinges on number 1, and if that doesn’t come to pass, then all bets are off.

Just as with the 2020 election, this is an Anybody But Trump (ABT) election. Trump continues to shoot himself in the legs. His latest comments about NATO and Nicki Haley’s husband show that he must be trying to lose the election. If he gets even one conviction and a possible sentence, then it is all over.

A dying potted plant beats Trump!

That comment about NATO is a lie of omission from major media. The quote was tightly edited.and out of context. Here’s the full segment…it was Trump bragging about making NATO members pay a greater share of the $ load. (Sorry this is long)

“They want to give like almost a hundred billion dollars to a few countries. 100 billion! And I said, and I’m telling you this.

This is breaking news. We have breaking news.
I said, “Why do we do this? If you do, you give them, not a hundred billion. You give it to them as a loan. It’s called a loan: give them the money, and if they can pay it back, they pay it back. If they can’t pay it back, they don’t have to pay it back because you know they’ve got some problems.

But if they go to another Nation, they drop us like a dog, like a female drops a mail after a date because he doesn’t like her… Right, if that happens to our country, then very simply, we call the loan, and we say we want our money because we give money, and then they go to another side as an example
.
Let’s say we give all this money. We were already into Ukraine for over $200 billion, and they could make a deal with Russia in the next three weeks, and all of a sudden, they don’t want to deal with us anymore.

We’ve given hundreds of billions of dollars, and why are we at over $200 billion and the European nations are if you add them up. It’s a very similar size economy. They’re $25 billion. So we’re at 200 plus, and it affects them much more. We have a thing called an ocean between us, right? Affects them much more, but we’re at 200. They’re 250.
I did the same thing with NATO; I got them to pay up. NATO was busted until I came along.

I said everybody’s going to pay. They said, “Well, if we don’t pay, are you still going to protect us?”

I said absolutely not.
They couldn’t believe the answer and everybody… you never saw more money pour in. The Secretary-General, Stoltenberg, was – I don’t know if he is anymore – but he was my biggest fan. He said all these presidents came in, they’d make a speech, they’d leave, and that was a bit, and they all owed money, and they wouldn’t pay it.
I came in, made a speech, and said you got to pay up. They asked me that question.

(Following is what the networks ran with )
One of the presidents of a big country stood up, and said, “Well sir, uh, if we don’t pay and we’re attacked by Russia, will you protect us?”
I said, “You didn’t pay? You’re delinquent?”
He said, “Yes, let’s say that happened.”

“No, I would not protect you. In fact I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You got to pay you got to pay your bills… And the money came flowing in… and Henry would know this… If I said yes, I will, you don’t have to pay yes, I will, most politicians have said to that [question], “Yes, we will protect you under any circumstances,” well, then they’re never paying up. I said, “No, no, you have to understand. You don’t pay your bills. You get no protection.”

It’s very simple. Hundreds of billions of dollars came into NATO, and that’s why they have money today because of what I did.

And then I hear that they like Obama better. They should like Obama better. You know why? Because he didn’t ask for anything.

We were like the stupid country of the world, and we’re not going to be the stupid country of the world any longer. We’re not going to be. Got bad under this guy, so he now wants to send him 50 to 60 billion dollars. I have to say one thing.
I think the greatest salesman ever in history is Zalensky, and I like Zalensky because, during the hoax… you know the impeachment hoax? They said I made a threatening phone call to him. And when they asked him, he said, “No, it wasn’t threatening.” It was a very nice call. He could have played to the bandwagon. He didn’t do that. He told the truth, so I like Zalensky. But that war’s got to end. We can make a deal on that war… one of the things we’re going to do.

This court actually read the constitution. The Founders didn’t even know medical abortion exist. The 10th amendment gives it to the States. Roe vs. Wade was decided on politics, not the constitution. What if the Roe court had been decided that abortion was murder? This cuts both ways

Depends on who Trump’s opponent will be. If it’s Biden, then I’d say absolutely a majority would look past convictions. If it’s someone else, let’s say Gavin Newsome or Michelle Obama, then I think Trump would be in some trouble. Especially if it’s the latter of those two, and she comes out with a decent border security policy. I’m not seeing a whole lot of panic yet from the Democrats. That leads me to believe they already have a replacement selected and ready. They are just waiting for the right time to reveal.

“Harris is now an an abortion tour. But abortion was a midterm issue. The issues now are the border, inflation, the Mideast, and China.”

Not if you’re a woman who keeps getting their rights trampled. But just wait for the GOP attack dogs to launch attacks on Harris and have their misogyny shine through at some point between now and election time. Don’t underestimate the GOP’s ability to act and do stupid.

On that point, I wonder why the GOP is terrified of Taylor Swift and her sleeper cell agents of angry female voters.

Ultimately, I think this election will demonstrate the start of the changing of the guard from boomers to millenials. We’ll just have to wait and see.

You didn’t read the Supreme Court decision closely enough. No one trampled anyone’s rights. It was decided incorrectly from the beginning because it’s always been a state’s rights issue. No different than Plessy V Ferguson being wrong from the start. Incorrect decisions get overturned. As they should.

1) Generate a grass roots campaign at the State level to change the laws.
