10 resign over Trump’s effort to sweep a murder by Ice under the rug.
I had previously labeled the shooting a homicide. I now think it’s third-degree murder based on the ICE agent’s “fucking bitch” comment.
Third-degree murder is a category of homicide that generally involves a killing without premeditation or intent to cause death, but with a degree of malice, recklessness, or a “depraved mind” that demonstrates a disregard for human life.
Most states do not have a specific “third-degree murder” statute, often classifying such acts as second-degree murder, manslaughter, or negligent homicide. The charge is primarily recognized in three states: Florida, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania.
Resignations
Six Prosecutors Quit Over Push to Investigate ICE Shooting Victim’s Widow
Not only does the administration refuse to prosecute a man guilty of murder, they choose to investigate the spouse of the murdered victim.
The New York Times reports Six Prosecutors Quit Over Push to Investigate ICE Shooting Victim’s Widow
Six federal prosecutors in Minnesota resigned on Tuesday over the Justice Department’s push to investigate the widow of a woman killed by an ICE agent and the department’s reluctance to investigate the shooter, according to people with knowledge of their decision.
Mr. Thompson’s resignation came after senior Justice Department officials pressed for a criminal investigation into the actions of the widow of Renee Nicole Good, the Minneapolis woman killed by an ICE agent on Wednesday.
Mr. Thompson, 47, a career prosecutor, objected to that approach, as well as to the Justice Department’s refusal to include state officials in investigating whether the shooting itself was lawful, the people familiar with his decision said.
The other senior career prosecutors who resigned include Harry Jacobs, Melinda Williams and Thomas Calhoun-Lopez. Mr. Jacobs had been Mr. Thompson’s deputy overseeing the fraud investigation, which began in 2022. Mr. Calhoun-Lopez was the chief of the violent and major crimes unit.
Mr. Thompson, Mr. Jacobs, Ms. Williams and Mr. Calhoun-Lopez declined to discuss the reasons they resigned. The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Tuesday’s resignations followed tumultuous days at the U.S. attorney’s office in Minnesota as prosecutors there and in Washington struggled to manage the outrage over Ms. Good’s killing, which set off angry protests in Minnesota and across the nation.
After Ms. Good was shot, Harmeet Dhillon, head of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, told her staff that she would not consider opening an investigation into whether the agent had violated federal law, according to three current and former department officials who asked for anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about the situation. At least four prosecutors who had already intended to quit or retire signaled they would accelerate their departures, those officials said.
Todd Blanche, the deputy attorney general, said in a statement that “there is currently no basis for a criminal civil rights investigation” into the ICE agent.
Instead, the Justice Department launched an investigation to examine ties between Ms. Good and her wife, Becca, and several groups that have been monitoring and protesting the conduct of immigration agents in recent weeks.
Shortly after Wednesday’s fatal shooting, Kristi Noem, the secretary of homeland security, referred to Ms. Good as a “domestic terrorist.”
Mr. Thompson strenuously objected to the decision not to investigate the shooting as a civil rights matter, and was outraged by the demand to launch a criminal investigation into Becca Good, according to the people familiar with the developments, who were not authorized to discuss them publicly.
The Trump administration has cited the fraud investigation that Mr. Thompson led to justify the surge of agents, which federal officials have called the largest immigration enforcement operation in history.
Most of the defendants charged to date are of Somali ancestry, but are American citizens by birth or naturalization.
President Trump and several top aides have seized on the matter to argue that Somalis are swindling the nation. Mr. Trump has called Somalis “garbage,” and he said his administration was considering denaturalizing some, because, he says, “they hate our country.”
The fraud cases — which involve plots to bill state agencies for safety net services that were never provided — have cost taxpayers several billion dollars, according to Mr. Thompson.
As the scandal drew national attention, Mr. Thompson became a high profile figure, earning praise from elected officials across the political spectrum. Several urged him to run for office, something Mr. Thompson — who refuses to discuss his political preferences — has said he has ruled out.
Mr. Thompson, a Stanford-trained lawyer who was born and raised in Minnesota, joined the Justice Department nearly 17 years ago. Before joining the U.S. attorney’s office in Minnesota, he worked in Chicago between 2009 and 2014 prosecuting street gangs, drug cartels, public corruption and domestic terrorism cases.
Mr. Thompson was acting U.S. attorney in Minnesota for several months starting in early June, and oversaw cases that included the prosecution of the man accused of assassinating Melissa Hortman, the former speaker of the state House of Representatives.
What Are Gestapo Tactics?
AI-Generated Answer: Gestapo tactics refer to oppressive, often brutal methods used by a secret police force to control populations, involving intimidation, surveillance, arbitrary arrest, psychological torture, forced confessions, and making people “disappear” to crush dissent and maintain totalitarian power. Key tactics include using fear, terrorizing citizens through informers, creating a climate of suspicion, and bypassing legal processes to imprison or eliminate opponents without trial.
Essentially, Gestapo tactics involve using fear, secrecy, and violence to eliminate political opposition and maintain absolute control, characteristic of authoritarian states.
Those arrested by the Gestapo were often held without judicial process. The power of the Gestapo was used to focus upon political opponents and ideological dissenters.
It takes one hell of a lot of confirmation bias to not see the path we are on and to dismiss what’s going on as not Gestapo-like.
But if you are blinded by an overwhelming desire to deport them all, you will find a way to ignore, if not defend, what’s happening. And if you are a racist or a MAGA moron, you will openly cheer what’s happening.
Door-to-door is unconstitutional, but the end justifies the means. If any die in the process, it was their fault.
Nothing Like the Gestapo
ICE detain Native American—punch him repeatedly even after complying with face scan. Mother brought passport & birth certificate but agents didn’t care—just joked that he “wasn’t really from here.” “Police can you help us?” she begs officers just watching. “We’re citizens!” Jose “Beto” Roberto Ramirez was born in the U.S.—and is a member of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians located in north central Minnesota.
Nothing Like the Gestapo
ICE agents violently detained a Virginia mother while she was driving her daughter to school because she couldn’t recite her Social Security number from memory, even after showing full, valid legal documents. This isn’t professionalism. It’s intimidation, incompetence, and abuse of power.

Good’s last words to Ross: “That’s fine dude, I’m not mad at you.” Ross after shooting and killing her seconds later: “F*ckin’ b*tch.”
Clearly, nothing like the Gestapo. It’s simply third-degree murder.
Three Types of People Support These Actions
- Bigots and racists
- MAGA cultists
- People brainwashed by bigots and racists, and MAGA Cultists
The first two are not mutually exclusive.
Look at this Idiot Eric Matheny (and an excellent response)
Observations on Deport Them All
Rogan: A man brought here as a baby, lived in the U.S. for 20 years, can’t speak Spanish, never lived anywhere else, no criminal record, deported anyway. That’s not “border security.” That’s ripping Americans out of their own lives and dumping them in a country they don’t know.
Is This What We’ve Come To?
Rogan: “You don’t want militarized people in the streets just roaming around, snatching up people — many of which turn out to be U.S. citizens that just don’t have their papers on them. Are we really gonna be the Gestapo, ‘Where’s your papers?’ Is that what we’ve come to?“
Q: Is This What We’ve Come To?
A: Unfortunately, yes.
Nazi Labels
Trump calls Somalis “garbage.”
However, please note that Trump has not yet offered a “final solution” to the problem.
Prediction of the Day (Mine)
Trump is looking for a way to cancel the midterm elections. He will threaten to do so.
When he does, the vast majority of Republicans will look away. MAGA will cheer.

Addendum – Idiotic Whataboutism
Reader:
Hey Mish,
I am waiting for you to write an article that does a deep dive on all the murders & rapes of US citizens by illegals.
Mish:
I am in favor of rounding up the criminals and deporting them all. I have mentioned that over a dozen times. I have written over two dozen times I am not in favor of open borders.
Your fear-baiting “whataboutism” does NOT justify the Gestapo actions taken by Ice.
Period.
Some of us believe in a constitution that does not allow unreasonable searches based on looks, or illegal door-to-door checks.
If Trump had half a brain, he would have worked out a deal with Democrats to round up the criminals while offering an amnesty deal for hard-working people who have been here years, some decades. He would have been a hero.
But no, what you seek is a race-baiting article to justify your beliefs.

Ah, you go to the old standby, race-baiting. I never mentioned race in my comment …. I could care less if the illegal is white, brown, or black.
But I’ll just focus on one phrase in your response: “offering an amnesty deal for hard-working people who have been here years”
So in your opinion, what other crimes merit an amnesty if one is “hard-working”???
Except Mish said hé is in favour of deporting criminals. Did you ignore that on purpose or did you not read his response?
The context of “(Mish) am in favor of deporting criminals” is within the idea that “hard working” and “long time” cancel crimes. Leprechaun, correctly, asked if illegal immigration was the only crime that can be canceled.
The best response is “I (Mish) was wrong. Hard working and long time” do not cancel any crimes. Illegal immigrants must be deported. Legal immigration is the only immigration”.
i won’t hold my breath waiting for that response.
There is in the USA the idea of “statute of limitations”. It means there is a time limit on the state’s ability to prosecute a crime. There are many reasons for it, but the key one is that people make mistakes and if you aren’t a career criminal and are a productive citizen, there is no value to society in causing them harm. It is a function of something called morality, as opposed to using legalisms for no other reason than to cause harm.
I don’t speak for Mish, but do speak for myself. Someone who illegally enters the United States (and probably does so because Republicans refuse to update our archaic immigration laws), finds work, supports themselves and over years builds a good life for themselves and their families is probably more valuable to the US than half the citizens are. I know a few lazy, barely employed, white meth heads who add zero value to society. I’d much rather see them deported.
What is the current immigration law? What exactly is ‘archaic’ about it? You blame it on Republicans because that is as far as your brain goes. Do some research!
The last significant update to immigration law occurred under the Reagan administration with less Republican support than Democratic support. The bill, among a wide array of issues, sets limits on the number and types of immigration, using benchmarks relative to the 1980s. Those benchmarks have massively changed over the decades. We need a massive increase in legal immigration limits for the following reasons:
But Republicans refuse to change those limits. Which creates an enormous demand among employers in the country for illegal immigration. This is what happens when your elected representatives are too dumb to understand basic economics.
You have the implicit assumption that the “harm” has ceased over time and can be forgotten.
False.
Fact is, when illegals are a net loss for our society instead of a gain, then the harm is continuing in realtime.
Example, 80% of Somali heads of household in the Minneapolis community are sucking us dry on welfare and assistance. If they are running drugs or drug money, they are a loss. If they are robbing us and sending bags full of money out of the country, they are a net harm to this country.
Memo: no natural-born American citizen should have an IRS gun to their head in being forced to pay for this bullshit taxation to support foreigners. If you don’t think it is the monopoly on violence that forces you to pay taxes, try not paying them and refusing to show up in court for your penalty.
As for the “gestapo” tactics, the DHS and Border Patrol are following the law. Their job is to deport, by force, anyone in the USA illegally.
If they had been doing that job when Clinton and Bush were the chief executives, then we would not have had 3000 American perish on 9/11/2001. Most of the 19 hijackers were of Saudi origin who overstayed their visas and lied on their applications.
Immigration is a net positive per CATO. I agree.
It would be even bigger if we had something between open borders and deport them all idiocy.
But racists will never admit immigration is a positive.
And anyone who defends Gestapo tactics as “doing their job” like you – is a racist moron
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION!
I can tell where you stand just by your playing the racebaiting racist card.
Changes nothing, nobody out here is going to become what you hope to label them as.
It is not about racism, it is about national sovereignty, culture, language, borders. Without those, you have no nation.
Which leads to the next world view question – do you support the concept of sovereign nations? If so, how does that square with your open border no immigration enforcement policies?
Outstanding response. You actually changed my mind.
Being ‘in favor’ is meaningless. How does he plan to achieve it when some states allow criminals to roam free.
If the kid came here when they were a baby, the kid is innocent.
Maybe you should stop focusing on immediate deportation, and work on a solution that doesn’t involve government overreach and trampling of citizens’ rights, violence, murder, etc.
Illegal immigration isn’t the purpose. The violence and murder are. It all becomes clear when you understand that.
Your moniker is appropriate – a little man living in a little world. I can’t resist wasting my time here – thinking you might open your mind – by suggesting that killing is still killing regardless of your diversionary attempts at justification. If one of your family had been killed in similar circumstances, you’d be on the other side of your arguments. Unfortunately, I don’t think your mind can expand that far. Even worse, you are one of the many.
I’ll give all of you “deport them all” chaps six weeks after you’ve ‘deported them all’ before you start begging for half of ’em to come back (for economic reasons among others). Probably won’t even take that long.
Billy – do you mean I’d want back some of these people:
Sriudorn Phaivan, a Laotian illegal alien convicted of strong-arm sodomy of a boy & strong-arm sodomy of a girl with a deportation order since 2018.
Tou Vang, a Laotian illegal alien convicted of sexual assault and sodomy of a girl under age 13 and procuring a child for prostitution with a deportation order since 2006.
Chong Vue, a Laotian illegal alien convicted of the strong-arm rape of a 12-year-old girl and kidnapping a child with intent to sexually assault her, with a deportation order since 2004.
Ge Yang, a Laotian illegal alien convicted of strong-arm rape, aggravated assault with a weapon, and strangulation with a deportation order since 2012.
Pao Choua Xiong, a Laotian illegal alien convicted of rape and child fondling with a deportation order since 2003.
Kou Lor, a Laotian illegal alien convicted of rape, rape with a weapon, and sexual assault with a deportation order since 1996.
Hernan Cortes-Valencia, Mexican illegal alien convicted of sexual assault of a child and DUI with a deportation order since 2016.
Abdirashid Adosh Elmi, a Somalian illegal alien convicted of homicide.
Gilberto Salguero Landaverde, a Salvadoran illegal alien convicted of three counts of homicide with a deportation order since June 2025.
Gabriel Figueroa Gama, a Mexican illegal convicted of homicide who has been previously deported in 2002.
Galuak Michael Rotgai, a Sudanese illegal alien convicted of homicide.
Thai Lor, a Laotian illegal alien convicted of two counts of homicide with a deportation order since 2009.
Mariana Sia Kanu, an illegal alien from Sierra Leone convicted of two counts of homicide with a deportation order since 2022.
Aldrin Guerrero Munoz, a Mexican illegal alien convicted of homicide with a deportation order since 2015.
Abdirashid Mohamed Ahmed, a Somalian illegal alien convicted of manslaughter with a deportation order since 2022.
Mongong Dual Maniang Deng, a Sudanese illegal alien convicted of attempt to commit homicide, weapon possession, and DUI.
Aler Gomez Lucas, a Guatemalan illegal alien convicted of negligent homicide with a vehicle and DUI with a deportation order since 2022.
Shwe Htoo, a Burmese illegal alien convicted of negligent homicide.
Nah, I don’t think I’d beg for any of these to come back to the US.
Nor would anyone else
Now If Trump would only start going after these people we would be better off
‘start going after these people’
Maybe do some research before you make asinine comments.
Since taking office, the Trump administration has arrested over 650,000 illegal aliens, with approximately 70% of those charged with, or convicted of crimes.
As of July 2025, ICE had arrested 752 non-citizens convicted of murder and 1,693 convicted of sexual assault under the Trump administration.
Note: ‘convicted.’
Maybe CATO has more recent numbers?
Leprechaun, nobody is defending that long list. We’re lamenting the government’s willingness to tread on American’s rights.
The losers in illegal immigration are US blacks. They don’t get jobs. But MIsh seems to be okay with that.
Again, nobody here, Mish foremost among them, is “OK with that.” Don’t put words in his mouth.
You seem to just attack without crediting people’s legitimacy or their plain statements. Are you a Russian or Chinese bot? Serious question.
What do I need to do? Post unemployment rates for minorities?
An estimated eight million undocumented immigrants are believed to be part of the U.S. workforce. And you wonder why wages are low at the bottom end of the scale.
I think you can’t be against “open borders” and against the expulsion of illegal immigrants at the same time. There’s a contradiction there.
Not for smart people. Smart people are aware of thing called “nuance”. I’d tell you to look it up, but then I’d spend the rest of the day showing you how…
“nuance”, nice way to solve contradictions
Mish isn’t against expelling illegal immigrants, where did he say that? He’s against the brutal and illegal tactics, up to and including murder.
Zero contradiction.
<<while offering an amnesty deal for hard-working people who have been here years, some decades>>
If I’m not mistaken, the Democrats offered a “deal” before Trump 2 was elected to still allow 1.5 million or so entries annually, for no reason at all (in addition to ordinary H1-B etc.). Mish, I think you should study a little deeper on what citizenship really means. If “citizen” to you is just a hard-working compliant consumer, the essence and character of your country is lost, the declaration of independence is useless, and the only ideal remaining is monetary transactions.
As an amateur photographer you should have noticed by now that you can’t have a good picture by just adding a lot more pixels that don’t match the original at all.
The problem with forgiving those who have been there a long time is this: it means that the longer you break the law, the less serious it is.
Americans have totally forgotten what citizen means.
For them nowadays it means a “hard-working compliant consumer who has the papers”.
A nation used to be defined by a set of common characteristics, ideals, language, history, traditions. But now we have Omar speaking in Somalian to people who say they are Somalis with US passports, and promises them to support Somali objectives with US taxpayer money.
Notice that Mish didn’t even make a fuss about it.
250 years upon its founding the USA is turning into a non-nation, just a large supermarket up for the taking by opportunistic politicians. It’s dying like banana leftovers on an expensive counter.
The main culprits are the previous administrations. They were in favor of “open borders” but didn’t want to make them legally possible for fear of losing the elections. So the solution they found wasn’t to change the law, but to not enforce it, leading many people to live illegally. This practice is very common in Europe: laws that are not to be changed but are simply ignored. This has another advantage: these laws can be applied to certain people who displease those in power. A famous example in France: during the 2017 presidential elections, the leading candidate before the first round was François Fillon. A few weeks before the vote, he was prosecuted for employing his wife as a parliamentary assistant when he was a member of parliament. This ruined his presidential campaign. Hundreds of MPs did the same thing, but only he was prosecuted. I therefore think that laws that exist but are not enforced are very dangerous. They can be revived against opponents.
I remember it very well. It is rule not by law but by judges.
Yes
“the essence and character of your country is lost, the declaration of independence is useless”
If I’m not mistaken, the central concept to this country is the defense of freedom and individual liberty. It is not “essence or character” or other ephemeral undefined terms. An American who upholds individual freedom upholds the declaration/constitution. Those who nod at ‘blood and soil’ or support warrantless searches or roadside executions by state agents are not upholding American values.
There was already a LAW passed by Congress, which Bidum chose not to implement. I wonder if this was an issue for Mish at the time???
What you saw with an allowance if 1.5 million (plus a road to citizenship for those already here) was a democrap tactic to do NOTHING.
<< I wonder if this was an issue for Mish at the time???>>
My problem with libertarians is that they would have done nothing in 1940, but wait in the sidelines to accuse “for moral reasons” someone and benefit from the result anyway.
The same for national integrity. They remain aloof and talk only about morality, as if they are gods or something. In the meantime, they benefit from strict laws/regulatory enforcement in their investments, and from the existence of a country they would never have built themselves, because they would be paralyzed in the face of hard black and white choices that frequently appear in politics.
Libertarians seem to never act in crucial matters. They wait for others to act, so that they can criticize them for mistakes along the way.
Mish’s “not completely open but not completely closed borders” is the weirdest position yet. Because “not completely closed” means open. And if you don’t keep feeding them with taxpayer money, you’re a racist etc. Meanwhile, Libertarians say “we didn’t support that, because it was not exactly what we wanted“. Moral parasites.
I an tired of responding to your racist MAGA bullshit.
I have nearly had enough.
Open: Biden waved them in and tore down fences
Closed: Where we are now
Something in between. A process that makes sense, where claims are investigated and visas are granted by need and reason
Meanwhile Gestapo = Gestapo and there is no legal or Constitutional basis for what’s going on.
Door-to-Door is blatantly unconstitutional and I am sick of your racist and Fingel’s support of it.
I put up with a lot of your racist shit and I am sick of it.
— ICE does not need warrants, they are different than ordinary police, and I would recommend you mention their legal framework before you make assessments on the door-to-door raids. They have the right to do it (unlike ordinary police).
— The previous system (before Obama) was stricter than “something in between” and worked just fine. It even let in a lot more than it intended to do (such as the “talent visa” and the completely unchecked fiancé visas – and since I’m a beneficiary of the latter, let me inform you that they conduct no checks at all, and later on at the citizenship test, the only questions were “who is the President” and “how many States”).
— Entries are not closed nowadays. We still have a lot of immigrants, it’s more controlled now. I can see it from the number of credential summaries I’m translating each week. They are coming through legal channels now, vs. when they would just walk in and get paid for just existing, and moved to selected areas for pure political benefit. Tim Walz was punishing his own (democrat) whistleblowers, because the Somali vote was crucial for his complete control of the State (albeit expensive).
— Taking about Somalis who are 74% or so on welfare/stamps, is not racism. The percentage is beyond crazy, most of them have been citizens for years!
You opened the ICE subject by taking political sides, by saying you would cheer a Republican loss in the elections (though Trump doesn’t seem to care, be can step down for health reasons way before any impeachment). The way things are politically now in the US, a republican loss is not a win for moderate democrats. It’s a win for AOC and Omar.
So, a 10-year plan, during which they are housed, fed, given free legal representation, educated, etc all at taxpayer expense. Great idea!
Then, a democrap president will grant immunity.
Yes, Trump is in a rush by to remove illegal aliens. He has four years, maybe two if he gets impeached.
Calling pedo, gestapo, nazi, racist is what you do best.
And yes, I have had enough. Enjoy your blog.
…and free healthcare, thus raising the cost to the rest (if they even can afford it anymore), and a rent-assistance check monthly which raises the rent for the rest. Food stamps to raise the cost for the rest (you can have Amazon grocery delivery you bought with stamps, and no obligation to even find a job, ever!). How much do all these contribute to price inflation? Nobody knows for sure, although with rent it’s evident in the areas most affected.
But the GDP increases (debt is part of it), rent and food expenditure increases, so economists are happy.
The “I’m against private property” Cea Weaver gets a highly paid job and solves her problems for life, Katie Wilson becomes mayor of Seattle and for the first time in her life moves out of her mother’s house (age 44), because now she has an income. And bloggers are preparing anti-Trump anthologies to file for future government positions and NGO cash per post.
Meanwhile in the UK the Gvt officially now reads your personal messages even outside social media (end to end encryption bypassed and dead), arrests anybody who even researches “questionable things” even without interacting (they published the guidelines!), and upon recommendation by King Charles, British Columbia sent official letters to homeowners that “their ownership status will change“. They are still numb from the shock. Just like Cea Weaver expresses it, same vocabulary.
Mish thinks that moderate old-school democrats will raise from the grave and replace Trump, and the Constitution will be saved. And that in no way will we suffer Europe’s decline, extraordinary energy prices, paranoid censorship, election cancellations.
I say it was 250 years. Not a bad run, could had been better. There’s no successor.
‘Round up’ HOW EXACTLY?
In the arrest of an UNKNOWN person, how must the ‘officer’ proceed without there being a risk of injury to him/her?
Be precise. NO more vague generalities. Solve the problem ‘without using overwhelming force’. How many dead officers will you tolerate?
As for a deal, what if the democrats wanted amnesty for all current illegal immigrants?
And, of course, you presume that the next democrap president won’t pull a Biden, and tear down the flood wall.
It should be clear what this is really about, and always has been. It is not about the poor immigrant. Guess what it is?
Here is an example:
https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/07/23/criminal-illegal-alien-accused-murdering-15-year-old-and-attempting-rape-mother
How should ICE arrest him when he is spotted in a crowded McCDonalds?
<<And, of course, you presume that the next democrap president won’t pull a Biden, and tear down the flood wall.>>
They absolutely will. They have not backed down from this position. Although I don’t watch Fox News (it annoys me with cowboy bullshit), a friend sent me this, video proof: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/immigrants-needed-redistricting-purposes-house-dem-admits-viral-clip-quiet-part-out-loud
And they’ll give them all free living and healthcare, to ensure their vote forever. Look at Tim Walz, punishing the whistleblowers (who are democrat State employees!!!) in the Minnesota scandal.
You don’t need to “cancel elections” to become an absolute dictatorship. You just move around large masses of completely dependent voters. And if anyone protests, call him a racist.
Expect it to get much worse. There is no other way to find equilibrium. Once all illegal invaders have been removed maybe we can restart mindful legal immigration. Until then we live in a state of anarchy. Laws for thee but not for me mean there is no rule of law.
Good luck to us all as we find our way out of the leftist hell the open border policies have caused.
In this thread:

God sees you, and he’s not buying your Nazi bullshit.
Some of the trolls are arguing with each other, lol.
So Trump threatens Iran leadership over their state thugs murdering innocent protesters but refuses to even investigate one of his own murderous thugs who killed a protester. Hmm…

It’s like saying you are against ‘narco-terrorists’ and then pardoning the guy who was convicted in US federal court of bringing 400+ tons of cocaine into the US.
“A St. Paul resident says federal officers knocked on her door and asked her to identify Hmong and Asian households in her North End neighborhood last week.
…
“Vice President JD Vance noted on Fox News on Wednesday: “I think we’re going to see those deportation numbers ramp up as we get more and more people online working for ICE, going door-to-door and making sure that if you’re an illegal alien, you’ve got to get out of this country and if you want to come back, apply for the proper channels.”

It appears that the charade is over and no one should continue to contend that this is about expelling convicted criminals and gang members.
If they would arrest demonstrators, before things get so out of hand, maybe the deaths would not occur. We cannot obstruct traffic in our own towns or scream, yell, and lunge at police officers. They would arrest us. For some reason, they let these things get out of hand. Maybe it is because so many people are involved.
If they arrested and interviewed demonstrators, it may become known what is the source of this behavior. Normal people do not behave like this in public. This is instigated and paid for by someone. What is the source?
Isn’t the Dark Lord Soros always The Source with you people?
I watched an interesting show with Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramoochi. He was the guy who Trump appointed as his Communications Director during his first term for about 2 weeks, and has know Trump for decades. The Mooch was asked “who are the people that still support Trump after all of this?”. The Mooch’s answer, and I paraphrase: “They are the people who believe in the US Constitution. They believe diversity among the peoples of this country is great … as long as white men are in charge and get first pickings at jobs and wealth. They believe we are a white, Christian nation and must maintain our white, European traditions. Though not of the Spanish and Italian varieties, more of the English and German varieties.”
He went on to say Trump believes all of this himself, is absolutely a fascist and racist, and his followers see themselves in him.
Nowadays, we call this reporting…
“…according to people with knowledge of their decision….”
Does it get any funnier? If you don’t see the humor, there really is no hope for you.
MIsh says he is in favor or ’rounding up all the criminals.’ Should the US run an ad on Facebook:
if you are in the US illegally, and have committed a crime, you are hereby requested to present yourself at the nearest Homeland Security for a deportation hearing.
I call ‘bullshit.’ Saying you’re ‘in favor’ is NOT implementation. However, it is the normal approach for liberals.
So, you’re saying the US doesn’t have an implementation system already in place? I’m pretty sure I can show you the hundreds of billions spend to law enforcement agencies all over the country and at all levels of government along with a pretty effective judicial system. It worked great under Obama, but no innocent citizens got killed. So maybe not what the fascists are looking for…
Let’s assume ICE rounds up all or most of the illegals. Who do you think the ICE apparatus will be turned on next?
Easy. Pedos first. Then, homeless people. Then anyone critical of liberals.
If they take the pedos, we’ll need a new government and half of ICE will be gone.
Anybody that’s too dark, then trans people, gay people, odd people, and then anybody that says anything negative about their friends and family disappearing.
Here in Chicago area, ICE protestors are being arrested by local police. This protects them from direct contact with ICE (which could be fatal).
My advice is stay out of the way of ICE. The officer mishandled the shooting, but he will be exonerated. That’s not justice but it’s rare to have justice in this world.
While it complicates the issue, how much did Good contribute to the situation?
What would a reasonable person do in that situation?
GTFO. Which is what she was doing when he shot her.
Yes, there will be no justice for the remainder of this Administration.
We will wait them out.
If we don’t demand justice we will never get it.
A few years back a policeman killed an unarmed citizen who was begging for his life, down on his knees, he had not done anything wrong. Nobody said “Gestapo” back then. We can’t be referring to Nazi Germany every time we don’t like something.
For the last 15 years or so police forces have become a lot more violent and trigger-happy. As far as Minnesota, I think you can call it a homicide (I’m not a lawyer).
But this is the result of Open Borders. Chaos on both sides.
I agree with a lot in your post here. But I do think there’s a difference between the ‘old’ police brutality and the new methods applied by ICE to induce fear (masks, no identification, door by door searches) and the way they appear to be immune from prosecution as we see now. To me that is a movement towards how the Gestapo used to operate and therefore I think the label “Gestapo tactics” is warranted.
ICE is not ordinary police, they don’t need warrants, and they can do door to door searches legally. One has to look at the legal setup of ICE before going into characterizations designed to invoke emotions. “Gestapo” and “Nazi” are emotionally loaded terms. And Obama’s deportations and children cages were not peaceful in many cases either. It was just not reported.
But Mish showed another aspect of his mindset recently, by confusing average nationalism with Nazism. I wonder how would he feel in France (with their frequent parades, nationalistic supremacy pride, and continuously violating EU rules in their favor even down to restaurant wine lists) or in the UK which now arrests old women for “just feeding the pigeons”:
https://www.the-independent.com/news/uk/crime/woman-pigeons-arrest-met-police-harrow-b2898065.html
They need a judicial warrant, to enter a private home.
How do you feel about FEMA employees skirting the homes with TRUMP signs after Hurricane Helene?
I don’t give a fuck one way or the other, but I’m sure it has deep spiritual meaning to you.
What if White Lesbians Matter is 100% intentional? Aka George Floyd, Round Two, just in time for the midterms.
If you can’t see the parallel between the BLM riots and the SS, but you see the connection between ICE and the Gestapo, what does that make you?
Ah yes, asinine whataboutism, and now it’s even hypothetical whataboutsim.
Well what about clear Constitution violations?
Racists don’t give a damn about that.
I see a clear pattern. You don’t. Have I ever referred to any of your statements as ‘asinine’?
As for racist? It is in the same category as pedo, gestapo etc.
There were also clear constitutional questions with the release of Epstein papers which you ignored.
My point in this post was the obsessive references to Nazi Germany. If I see a fat guy talking against Jews (plenty of American professors fit the image), should I call him Hermann Goring?
Does he have a bald head and is he Deputy Chief of Staff in the Trump administration? If so, then yes, you should call him that. The important thing in the comparison is that he has to be part of the government in power for the comparison to make sense. I think that is obvious to everyone else.
Nazis and ICE are government agencies, which is important. BLM is not a government agency, so it is treated differently and the rules regarding government agencies don’t apply to it. Most people understand those basic facts.
Police shootings have gone down down down since the 1970s. They still happen on occasion and if they fit the narrative the MSM and various onljne saps use it as propaganda. Otherwise they are of little importance.
Some of them linger in the mind, actually.
I do watch the channel “civilrightslawyer” on YT, and he shows cases of police abuse and brutality that normally should alarm the DOJ. Including invasions in people’s homes! But for one to use the term “gestapo”, one would have to examine the legal framework. ICE can do things that ordinary police can’t, and without a warrant. If ordinary police was doing these things, I would be screaming as well (still though, “gestapo” is a term that opens up different conversations).
I think the comparison to the Gestapo is grossly exaggerated. Under such a regime, any concrete action against ICE would be unimaginable. The Gestapo’s main activity would be to hunt down and imprison those who express opinions hostile to ICE’s actions. You would be in prison.
In Trumps political ICE atmosphere, do not be surprised if Mish gets “Suicided” or deported.
One day you come here for his insight and it is simply gone…
Mish would have been in prison in modern United Kingdom or Germany. His criticism is far far worse than the things for which people are getting arrested and imprisoned over there nowadays.
That’s why him referring to Nazis is complete nonsense, doesn’t appreciate his complete freedom of speech, and shows very narrow thinking in the overall framework. Furthermore, he purposefully ignored the legal setup of ICE, which is not ordinary police, and doesn’t need warrants.
He’s calling you ghouls nazis because you’re FUCKING NAZIS.
You’re just butthurt about being called out for it, and that is no excuse whatsoever.
They’re following protestors home now, so that’s a checkmark on the getsapo side.
Anything else?
the number of victims does not match
ROFL!
Will it take train cars full of non-complying Citizens, headed to detention centers and then into the fog of extermination camps BE ENOUGH EVIDENCE that we are headed into abyss? Where is my country?
ICE and Trump make more damage than good. I guess that the killing in Mineanopolis (doesn’t matter if it was murder, accident or self-defense) erased public support for crackdown on Somali fraud there and for fraud in general across Blue states. ICE deporting or self-deporting hundreds of thousands people working, paying taxes and consuming goods and services will sooner or later hurt the economy. At the end independent voters will issue the verdict together with GOP voters who stay at home.
I’m Canadian but… If taxpayers really do accept tax fraud being the price to pay for ICE acting within the law, they have fallen a loooong way from reality. Expect more taxpayer-supported fraud. Maybe I’ll move down for my share – if I’m not too late.
Paying taxes? lol! The welfare illegal immigrants receive benefits in the thousands of dollars per month. Free healthcare. Free to the illegal, costly to the taxpayer. At the end independent voters will endorse closing the borders, deporting illegals, and a growing economy.
“I guess that the killing in Mineanopolis (doesn’t matter if it was murder, accident or self-defense) erased public support for crackdown on Somali fraud there and for fraud in general across Blue states.”
Your guess is wrong. Fraud continues to be a significant issue for the locals and will remain so, but a couple thousand masked federales randomly searching individuals (with an occasional beating and, at least so far, isolated killing) is the national story at the moment.
Yes, fraud is fraud, but breaking the constitution, acting like the Gestapo, and embracing Hitler slogans daily is repeat national news.
Certainly, and that was my point.
I was responding to J_Schneider who, in addition to having a unique way of spelling Minneapolis, supposed that the local population no longer cares about the widespread fraudulent activity. (it should also be noted that it isn’t just a Somali issue.)
I’m sure the Russian trolls and maga lowlifes here understand the legal issues involved better than these senior career federal prosecutors. /S
Da. No “legal issues” here. Crystal-clear case of self-defense AND threat neutralization. He’ll surely walk, that is, if politics don’t overwhelm logic, as happened to poor Chauvin.
Angry, dangerous pig got put in a pen where it belongs.
It’s becoming an overused expression, sure, but this was a clear-cut and well-documented case of FAFO to me and nothing else. She’d still be alive had she had just let them do their jobs (and not aimed her vehicle at one of them before stepping on the gas). Yes, someday we’ll have to worry about a gestapo-like force in the US but this does not appear to be the that yet and I’m not entertaining the slippery slope argument either because were it not for Biden letting God knows how many foreign criminals in, these forces wouldn’t have to be so heavily amend (and always on edge due to the lunatic defenders of the criminals).
So Mish has a 2-1 ratio of dipshoots in his comments section. Kind of sad tbh.
It’s either that or you haven’t looked in a mirror lately.
As a physician, I have presented complex medical vignettes to AI and have been impressed with the completeness and accuracy of AI’s judgement and medical decision making. In the Minnesota case AI was limited to viewing all available tapes of the recent shooting. The neural network concluded that both parties were at fault. The officer used poor tactical judgement and excessive force. AI recommended that his firearm immediately be taken away, he immediately be terminated from ICE without administrative pay, and that he be referred for criminal and civil prosecution.
AI can be judge and jury? I really don’t think that would be a good thing.
This is an unusual event where the event was captured on video. It’s like an AI reading of a CT or MRI or a 3d picture or video of a dermatological condition and applying the rules of diagnosis. In this case AI is reviewing videos from the event from multiple angles and applying the law. The assessment doesn’t rely on any witness bias or on any prosecutor or defense lawyer presentation bias.
AI does not understand nuances nor intent. If the situation is very clear it helps but most situations are not. What makes you think AI cannot have bias? There are many examples where they do.
Nuances? He was filming with his phone, switched hands so he could draw, shot her once from the front, stepped aside, and shot her two more times, all while filming.
Not nuances. Aggravating factors.
— And then the AI reviews a case of a man lying still on his couch watching TV for 5 minutes. He died 30 seconds before the video ended (coronary plus a highly stressful reminder), and the AI can’t figure out why, because all it saw was a video, and nothing had changed on the outside. That’s why we have doctors, and that’s why we have courts and trials and testimonies, and we even review the stress under the circumstances, etc.
— Btw, the AI in the immigration case would have deported all of them and sue them on top of it for (i) violating US border laws repeatedly and continuously, (ii) lying to the authorities to obtain driver’s licenses, (iii) working without employment authorization, (iv) continuous tax evasion, (v) lying in their paperwork in all interactions with US authorities during their stay, etc.
Can you watch the videos?
BTW I have not seen any AI analysis of the videos. It’s all been done by people.
Mish, I observed the sharp turning of the steering wheel seen in the ICE agent’s cell phone video, his transfer of his cell phone to his left hand, freeing his quick draw shooting hand before getting in front of the car, and the <5mph brush-by contact. Poor tactical skills, poor and unprofessional people skills, and excessive lethal force? You bet.
This is the AI analysis with the podcaster’s parameters for query: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR7ododCSyA. I concur with the exceptions made by other commenters on AI limitations. Yes, AI is imperfect, but, given the caveat of multiple videos from various angles and given the current law and current police policies in this specific occurrence, a well formatted AI is less imperfect than a (political) judicial process. There are crooked judges, prosecutors and defence attorneys and the jury screening process often doesn’t weed out personal bias. Some people could not believe their eyes for the 6 Jan 2021 event.
Perhaps you haven’t heard about AI hallucinations aka errors. AI is currently a prediction of what word will come next. Your medical AI can’t be using the same models for learning but unless they are 100% they too “hallucinate”.
in other words, AI is proving to be overrated.
It’s usable, and somewhat helpful, in the right hands.
I’m sure if you feed the same AI with 100 cases of medical mistakes, it will propose to remove all licenses and file lawsuits against all of them. Because everything is easy in hindsight, and of course AI assumes that the ICE officer should have been a well-programmed robot, analyzing 10,000 factors per second.
I personally prefer to stay away from armed cops, especially in tense situations. Same in the case of ICE (who do not need warrants, and are not ordinary police). To interfere with them and then provoke them on top of it, is double dangerous.
Hopefully, this is only the beginning and this action continues to grow exponentially. Eventually, the deranged tyrant will get the measure.
Mish, you are way out over your skis on this issue and politics generally. You should stick to economics. Trump voters voted for deportations, not for surveys on deportation by the regime media. We don’t care what Dems think about the deportations or anything else. There is no deal possible with Dems on immigration that is not a betrayal. Ask Reagan’s policy people who are still alive how his amnesty deal with Dems worked out?
Yes – the problem is exactly as you said.
You do not give a flying fuck about the constitution because you want to deport them all.
The end justifies the means by you.
You don’t care what anyone thinks – which by the way more people want to abolish ICE than keep it. And it will be a majority soon.
But you don’t care.
And you don’t care about Gestapo tactics or slogans either.
Fortunately – some of us do care about the constitution
Bravo!
+100
It is funny how all those gutless cosplayers of 2nd amendment warriors who were claiming to be the last line against a tyrannical government are silent in the face of a true government over-reach.
Today I watched a video of a guy pulled from his car at a gas station and beaten so badly by a mob of ICE guys under the supervision of Bovino that he had obviously stopped breathing (no breath steam) and was limp as a dead person. They quickly picked him up like a sack of potatoes and put him in a vehicle and went off. No record of going to the hospital (or to a dump site?)
They are short of ICE people and there are Bureau of Prisons in military uniforms on the ground.
Show the video.
I was saying to my buddy that it doesn’t shock me that the USA is descending into being an actual police state at this point, but what is a bit surprising is the amount of Americans earnestly cheering it on.
How can you be shocked when during COVID police walked down the street and ordered people off their porches and into their house? Or arrested people at the beach? Or advocated for refusing healthcare to the unvaccinated?
There should be a civil case in state court against the shooter. The only way out is to bankrupt the families of ice agents.
He likely has no real assets worth going after.
They’ll sue ICE for sure and quite likely get paid bigly which means you, me and all the rest of the taxpayers are on the hook for the settlement.
Yup. Sometimes there’s no justice. But there is always money.
It would take years and he could counter-sue. In this case money for lawyers would be no problem because since he was a police officer on duty the government typically handles the civil suit and the government would be the one paying if it lost so it wouldn’t bankrupt the family which is your aim. Myself I prefer to wait for the FBI investigation before judging since I wasn’t there.
The “investigation” by FBI is a total sham. They cut off the state agencies for that reason. The biggest damage Trump has done to the nation is that he has completely destroyed all the institutions that were built over centuries. DOJ, FBI and many other agencies have lost their independence and I am not sure the US can recover from this.
The agents aren’t ‘police’. There is training, but standards have been reduced and there is the significant hiring bonus so one can reasonably infer that the quality of the applicant pool has gone down. Here is the first sentence from an opinion piece last month, the link for the entire column is below:
“Authorities have also cut academy time for recruits without prior law enforcement experience, from 16 to eight weeks.”
https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2025/12/03/ice-hiring-border-patrol-jobs-immigration-agents/87483770007/
Qualified immunity. Which I despise.
Pretty sure the Trump admin picked a time of place of this murder to occur to make a point. I don’t believe anything is an accident with the Trump admin. We are seeing what I posted from mind-war.com last year play out in 2026. Basically they want apartheid in America. Elon Musk didn’t really have a fallout with Trump. They dined on new years eve like they were best friends. Elon might be Jeffrey Epsteins replacement.
Local police stood down surely there is something they can be prosecuted for. She would probably still be alive if they had been doing their jobs.
Are you nuts. The local police were not in the area.
She was dead before they arrived.
According to federal officials, the individual referred to as the “ICE warrior” (Renee Good) was alleged to have been harassing ICE agents for
hours on the day of the fatal shooting incident.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that Good had been “stalking, impeding, and blocking” ICE officers throughout the day leading up to the confrontation on January 7, 2026, in Minneapolis. Other sources mention she was part of a local “ICE Watch” group that aimed to document and resist federal immigration enforcement activities
She just dropped of her child at school.
Are you going to believe every god dammn lie of this administration?
Johnathon Turley wrote “The ICE Elephant: Why The Law Requires All The Facts” which is a pretty good read.
Turley is a hack.
Never heard of Turkey. I note you attacked the author instead of attacking the facts. People who do that are usually wrong.
Mish you are operating on Mockingbird media propaganda. She and her wife had been their blocking the street–you can’t miss the orientation of her SUV–for a good while and attempting in other ways to obstruct the law enforcement efforts of ICE. Having obvious smug fun doing it. None of her behavior was innocent, least of all accelerating when a man is standing directly in front of your SUV. You should watch the unedited videos, not what the lying media feed you.
A police matter – why had they not been called?
Very dangerous woman armed with a whistle. Excuse me I thought you might have a brain or at lease some common sense. You are a joke of a human. Most likely a good christian.
Had that been the case, it was a police matter, not for ICE enforcement. Regardless, he’s a trained professional and therefore accountable. Don’t confuse the two.
I am very interested to see the video of Becca Good. The officer’s video recorded someone faintly saying “Drive, baby, drive.” If the command “Drive, baby, drive,” is loud and clear on Becca’s video, then it is reasonable to conclude she directed Renee to run over the officer. I think Becca has not made her video public because it would incriminate her against inciting assault against a federal agent.
If Minnesota presses charges against the officer, then the officer would definitely be able to subpoena Becca’s. If Becca takes the 5th and refuses to turn over the video, then the officer’s defense would be he heard a protester instruct Renee to drive at him, which is reasonable justification of self defense.
Drive Baby Drive was her.
You think she was telling her to kill the officer, and not drive AWAY from the man about to kill her?
Too bad autism wasn’t a diagnosis a thousand years ago for all the dinosaurs on this board.
No one will ever see Becca Good’s video …. If it was beneficial for Renee, the world would have already seen it 1,000x over.
The fact that it has not been seen speaks volumes.
Becca Good might have already consulted a lawyer or received some prudent advice. It doesn’t make her guilty of anything, but she shouldn’t put out more media that might incite a vengeful administration to take other actions.
Let MN charge Ross and let the Feds charge Becca. Even Steven. Everybody’s happy.
I think that sounds like a good plan.
Hey Mish,
I am waiting for you to write an article that does a deep dive on all the murders & rapes of US citizens by illegals.
And I mean DEEP dive that details the specific ways that the women were sexually assaulted, the way that the husbands and fathers were murdered, and the way that young children were raped & tortured before being killed.
Reader:
Hey Mish,
I am waiting for you to write an article that does a deep dive on all the murders & rapes of US citizens by illegals.
Mish:
I am in favor of rounding them up and deporting them all.
I have mentioned that over a dozen times.
I have written over two dozen times I am not in favor of open borders.
Your fear-baiting “whataboutism” that does NOT justify the Gestapo actions taken by Ice.
Period.
They’re not Gestapo tactics. They’re legal actions by a federal law enforcement officer.
First of all, Supremacy Clause. So Minnesota has no standing.
Secondly, 18 USC 3 – “Whoever, knowing that an offense against the United States has been committed, receives, relieves, comforts or assists the offender in order to hinder or prevent his apprehension, trial or punishment, is an accessory after the fact.
Except as otherwise expressly provided by any Act of Congress, an accessory after the fact shall be imprisoned not more than one-half the maximum term of imprisonment or (notwithstanding section 3571) fined not more than one-half the maximum fine prescribed for the punishment of the principal, or both; or if the principal is punishable by life imprisonment or death, the accessory shall be imprisoned not more than 15 years.”
You wanna play hardball, let’s play hardball.
You are a Fucking moron.
The constitution
1. Prohibits illegal searches
2. Prohibits door-to-door witch hunts
DOJ’s own instructions do not allow
1. Officers to get in front of cars
2. Shooting at cars to stop them
And it does not allow comments like “Fucking Bitch”
So I have a question for you:
Are you a proud racist, MAGA moron, or both?
They also require the agents to render aid (which they have been trained for). They not only failed to do so, but prevented a doctor on site from doing so and made an ambulance park very far away. So many of the agents on site are guilty of serious crimes and violations of protocol and all should be relieved of their duty and prosecuted.
The Supremacy Clause does not give a federal officer carte blanch to commit a crime. A degree of deference is accorded law officers – whether federal or state – because they are employed by society to do a difficult job and sometimes find themselves in dangerous situations where decisions are made in a split second.
First, phony lawyer, read the effn’law
…Whoever, knowing that an offense against the United States has been committed…
What offense was she supposed to be aware of? Who was the offender she was supposed to have protected?
Warrantless stops of random people?
And by the way, the death penalty only applies after trial and conviction, not in front
You do realize the gestapo WAS a legal federal agency.
I know you don’t care about facts but…
.From Texas, “During this time (2012 to 2018), undocumented immigrants had the lowest offending rates overall for both total felony crime (see exhibit 1) and violent felony crime (see exhibit 2) compared to other groups. U.S.-born citizens had the highest offending rates overall for most crime types, with documented immigrants generally falling between the other two groups.
But hey, remain an ignorant tool of liars
If he lived in 1860,he would be whining about all the white women being raped by black men. Another maga myth.
When my Dad was 11 years old he witnessed a white mob chain a black man who was accused of killing a white schoolteacher – he confessed after being severely beaten – to the roof of her school house, and then they burned it and him to the ground. It was 1931.
It’s pretty sad when ICE kills a harmless American citizen, and all the American government is trying to do is to frame her as a domestic terrorist.
Her vehicle enabled her to cause death or great physical harm. She was not harmless. Her spouse said it her (spouse) fault.
Are you really that much of a F-Head?
Her spouse claimed fault because she was responsible for the move to Minneapolis, no more, no less.
It is just becoming more and more obvious that Trump and his minions have no interest in the Rule of Law or in justice.
I’m not as sure as you that this incident has anything to do with Trump. This is a “standard” police stop interaction. Police are aware of, and trained for, traffic stop incidents. It was the officer’s instinct in the moment, concerning whether or not this incident was life threatening. Unlike us arm chair quarterbacks, officers in the field are in potential life or death situations on each and every traffic stop.
Bullcrap police are NOT trained to stand in front of cars. Just the opposite they are trained to keep their body in a safe as possible position.
Dumb and dumber. The police were not involved anywhere or anytime in this incident. Let’s not bother with the facts, straight to the noose please.
You people are a bunch of hysterics. Your “imaginary model” of the world is very different from the world as it actually exists. Stop living in your phone world of instigram and tik tok, and start walking the streets and interacting with strangers for a change. The “real world” operates in a way that is nothing like the fantasy world in your head.
MN Attorney General Keith Ellison will bring charges against the ICE officer. He will stand trial in MN, as is appropriate. I predict a conviction on 3rd degree murder.
He should be bringing charges against local law enforcement officials who stood down failing to assist ICE facilitating her demise.
I predict he walks.
The burden of proof on Police in a shooting is VERY low. They just have to feel threatened in order to use lethal force (ie regular citizen doesn’t have to be armed or even strike). This guy was in ‘attacked’ by a vehicle in a different ICE related incident a few month back so he has easy defense saying its happened to him before and he felt threatened.
TT – I am thinking about this. Not so sure, but certainly delayed.
In Minnesota, there is no statute of limitations for murder or any other crime that results in the death of a victim.
And Trump cannot pardon someone for a state crime.
There is plenty of evidence to convict.
Look at the Trayvon Martin case (I live near where it happened). In that case the guy doing the shooting wasn’t even a cop, he was just a neighborhood watch guy who shot an unarmed 17 year old kid (Black) that he ‘thought was up to no good’.
He walked from the charge because he said it was self defense.
After that (and other similar cases) I’ve realized you shoot to kill first and worry about charges later because odds are you can claim some kind of threat to your personage and walk.
Juries gonna be different. Ice is a popular as genital warts
Ahmaud Arbery, remember that case? Juries are hard to predict. OJ Simpson jurors now say the facts didn’t matter.
MN Statute 609.066 will prevent the officer from being charged under state law.
Did 609.066 prevent Derek Chauvin from being convicted? If a Minnesota jury can convict Chauvin and 4 other officers who did nothing but stand by, there is a pretty damned good chance they will convict in this case. We are becoming a nation of retards-both on the left and the right. I keep thinking if only we would stop electing corrupt leaders. Maybe the problem is we now have just too many corrupt, stupid sheeple. This cop obviously committed some form of murder- probably manslaughter or negligent homicide. Anyone who because of partisan politics or some other bias who refuses to admit this lacks basic humanity and common sense. Probably should not be permitted to vote or even to own a gun.
I’d agree, Tim, if he’d fired just one shot. The second and third shots are less defensible, although admittedly all three shots were within about 1/2 second. It’s Minnesota not Texas. Different jury pool.
If he gets a choice it’s better to go for a trial by judge. He’ll get a far more dispassionate ruling from someone who will go by the letter of the law rather than optics.
I agree. 1 shot defensible. Third shot intentional.
Yes. He kept shooting after he moved.
The last shot or two appeared to be made in anger.
Plus he called her a “Fucking Bitch”.
Obviously being a “Fucking Bitch” is grounds for immediate execution with the ICE, MAGA, KKK mentality.
How do you know the 1st one was the kill shot? Maybe it was the 3rd one?
Saying he fired in anger is going to be impossible to prove. The fact he stops at 3 shots, doesn’t point his gun at the other woman or fire at the back of the vehicle as it rolls away says he was in complete control and not firing in rage/blindly.
His final expletive sounded very angry.
Although I am not sure which woman it was directed at.
He was angry someone put his life in danger? The list is now “hard working and long time” negates crime and “angry” creates a crime.
If I shoot and hit someone in a legal use of deadly force, I don’t stop shooting. I shoot until the threat is neutralized. How do I know? More shots. Lots of people have been killed by people who have been shot. Some got run over by an SUV.
You only stop at 1 shot if you know the other person is dead. Otherwise you keep shooting. 3 shots in 1/2 second is absolutely nothing.
Google around and you’ll regularly find cases where Police fire an absurd number of shots in a few seconds time.
Firing at the head of someone when you are clearly not in danger (shots 2 and 3 through the side window) is murder. I don’t think it will be difficult to convince a Minnesota jury of that beyond a reasonable doubt.
I think you’re right.
The Lawyers who have resigned for the way this case is being handled will find a lot of locals in agreement with their stance. It seems some Ice agents are going overboard in their handling of some folks. Defending enforcers actions even when video shows misuse will only build even more mistrust of Government Agencies.
The media spun retirements. No one left because of this.
