Trump and Elon Musk Fuel Preposterous Vote Fraud Claims in California

Is Elon Musk really as stupid as he sounds?

Trump and Musk Fuel Preposterous Claims

The Wall Street Journal reports Trump Fuels Election-Fraud Claims in California

President Trump and his associates are escalating allegations of election fraud in California, turning to a playbook they have used previously to sow doubt about election results.

“Not possible for Spencer Pratt to have lost the L.A. runoffs after the big lead he had. 3rd World Nation. Rigged Elections!” Trump wrote Monday on Truth Social, before referencing the state’s messy primary to replace California Gov. Gavin Newsom, where Trump-endorsed Republican candidate Steve Hilton is clinging to second place. “Now they’ll be working on great guy Steve Hilton. Won’t have results for, possibly, TWO WEEKS, according to officials.”

Others in Trump’s orbit making fraud allegations include Elon Musk, who has made more than a dozen posts on X questioning the California process and mail-in voting generally.

House Speaker Mike Johnson also echoed Trump Monday, while stopping short of saying there was outright fraud. “I’m saying it stinks to high heaven, and everybody knows that,” the Louisiana Republican told reporters. “Let’s remove the appearance of impropriety,” he added.

Simple Explanation

Gonna explain it so that even completely brain dead #MAGA cult members can understand it:

I live in Los Angeles. I am a moderate who can’t stand the ultra left and ultra right. Bass isn’t great and maybe she will lose to the progressive who will run against her? She would have much rather been running against Pratt in November! She would have had a 95% of winning against Pratt. Maybe a 60% chance now against Raman. Anyone who thinks there is fraud is happening is either incredibly stupid OR purposefully lying—no other choices. Statistically and indisputably, 75% of Los Angeles is either Democrats or independents who lean Democrat because the candidates who are Republican always end up being stupid MAGA clowns since 2016.

Trump got 26% of the vote in Los Angeles in 2024. Pratt will end up with slightly less than that, which makes sense, since he ran his campaign as an obnoxious MAGA asshole in an environment where Trump’s approval ratings are their lowest ever!

Most people in L.A. vote by mail, in a 100.00% legal way, and often wait until the last few days before/on election day to send their ballots in. Those mail-in ballots lean SUPER HEAVILY to Democrats, ironically because the same brainless MAGA cult members attack mail-in-voting and hurt what ever absolutely miniscule chance they have of winning!

So stop the f**king nonsense. Election deniers are among the dumbest organisms—and claiming fraud in this Los Angeles Mayoral election is the dumbest of the dumb.

The Believable Numbers

More on the Numbers

Correct, Correct, Correct

A Reasonable Position

Maybe California’s laws should change. A week after an election is a very long time to still be accepting ballots, and it damages trust in the process. But a registered Republican heading for a loss in one of the most progressive cities in the world is not a shocker.

One Agreement With Musk

I still do not know if musk is as stupid as he sounds, or if he just wants favors out of the Administration.

Billionaires who are arguable geniuses in one area can be remarkably stupid, racist bigots, or whatever in other areas.

Regardless, the one and only purpose of the Save Act is to enable Republicans to steal the election.

And once voting is fraudulent, the party in power can rig the votes.

Repeat Lies

Multiple major democracies allow voting by mail, including Canada, Germany, Australia, and the UK. The post provides no evidence that mail ballots “switched” California’s election or that fraud occurred. Assertions that fraud is “statistically certain” are unsupported.

Reflections on Speaker Mike Johnson

Effort to Steal the Midterms

To anyone not brain dead, it’s obvious Trump wants to rig the midterm elections.

That is the real purpose behind The Save Act, Trump’s appointments, and Executive Orders.

Trump Issues Order Against Mail-In Voting. Supreme Court Will Strike It.

On April 1, 2026, I commented Trump Issues Order Against Mail-In Voting. Supreme Court Will Strike It.

Here’s another set of silly Executive Orders about to be blasted sky high.

Once again, Trump is wrong. Expect an appeal.

The Brennan Center for Justice issued a brief on April 8, 2026, Analyzing the President’s Executive Order on Mail Voting

This bid to seize control of mail voting would wreak havoc on elections and harm American voters.

Last week, President Trump issued a new executive order that aims to illegally rewrite the rules for federal elections. The principal thrust of the order is to charge the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) with determining who may vote by mail and instructs it to refuse to deliver ballots sent by anyone not included on newly created federal mail voter lists. It threatens criminal penalties for election officials, mail carriers, and others who send ballots to or deliver ballots from individuals the administration deems ineligible. Perhaps to facilitate this usurpation of state and federal laws governing mail voting, it also orders the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to compile lists of voting-age U.S. citizens in every state, using incomplete and unreliable federal data sources.

If implemented, the executive order would inject chaos into our elections, block eligible American citizens from voting, undermine voter privacy, and expose election officials and others to criminal prosecution simply for doing their jobs.

Trump wants the Post Office to control which votes are counted. If that’s not purposeful fraud, what is?

That is what’s behind Trump’s appointment of Bill Pulte as his acting Director of National Intelligence after Tulsi Gabbard resigned was forced out.

Three Reasons the Save Act Is Unconstitutional

On March 4, I commented Three Reasons the Save Act Is Unconstitutional

The SAVE Act won’t pass, and that’s a good thing.

I support voter ID. And if that’s all the SAVE ACT was about, Republicans would propose a simple bill on voter ID.

Instead, the SAVE Act purposely and unconstitutionally disenfranchises women and minorities.

On March 11, I noted SAVE Act Silliness: Trump’s “Go for the Gold” Killed It

The SAVE Act is unconstitutional. Trump want to make it worse. Only fools think they know more than Thune.

Republican liars want you to believe the SAVE Act is about voter ID. It’s not.

Fortunately, the act will die because it is not a budget item so it cannot be passed in a budget resolution with just 50 votes.

Four Predictions

  1. Trump will continue his efforts to steal the election all the way through the election and beyond.
  2. He will fail to steal the election
  3. There will be a Republican bloodbath in November
  4. Idiots like Musk and Trump will continue to sound like idiots, blaming anyone and everyone but themselves for the bloodbath.

Number one is 100 percent likely. It’s ongoing and obvious.

Assuming number two is correct, I am 85 percent confident of number three.

Technique of Liars

Trump’s lawyers never present solid evidence in real courts. Instead, they make absurd claims in the circus-court of public opinion.

Musk is willing to make an ass of himself for political reasons, or he is stupid enough to believe what he is saying.

This does not mean I support a month-long counting process or California rules. If the SAVE ACT proposed simple changes without purposely disenfranchising women and minorities I could support it.

There Is No Evidence

Meanwhile, there is no evidence of fraud, none, that would have overturned anything.

Point-by-point, Trump’s 6 claims in Arizona, 5 in Michigan, 6 in Georgia, 5 in Nevada, and 5 in Pennsylvania have all been proven nonsense, in a study by Republicans, in detail.

For discussion of the asininities of the cases, please see Trump Has Meltdown on Meet the Press, “You’re Either Crooked or Stupid”

Trump walked off a Meet the Press interview after being challenged to present evidence of voter fraud.

There was no evidence of fraud then, and there is none now. It’s all purposeful lies unless Trump and Musk are really stupid enough to believe what they are saying.

The cult however, does believe anything Trump says. That’s the point of the lies.

Madison Square Garden Hoot

As an outsider, the litmus test for me is if you are against having to show ID to vote you are the group committing voter fraud PERIOD! To suggest as the Democrats do that requiring Voter ID is racist, discriminatory etc etc is just so absurd. Do you think for one second that someone who is so Incompetent, so detached from society that as an adult they have no photo id would actually go out of their way to vote? Here in Canada you are NOT allowed to vote without first being Registered in your precinct to vote and second you absolutely have to show photo ID. The Democrats are fully against having to show photo ID, the Republicans are fully for having to show photo ID, anyone with even a shred of logic should be able to reach the conclusion that the Democrats commit and want to commit voter fraud.

I also live in Los Angeles and a lot of Democrats supported Pratt. Especially the people like me who live in Raman’s district. We all hate her. Constant trash talk about her at the dog park. People are fed up with the crime and trash everywhere. Assuming Democrats are more likely to vote late than Republicans, that doesn’t explain Raman’s vote count relative to Bass after June 2 as compared to vote count on election day. Why would almost all the later Democrat voters vote for Raman instead of Bass who was the leader? Also, Raman herself conceded election night because her performance was so bad. It’s on video.

Jon
Jon

Reply to  Pete

Maybe the constant talk at the dog park is a self-selected group of Raman haters who don’t actually represent the majority? I ask because people tend to gravitate to others who share their views. And when that happens “everyone I talk to” has the same opinion, but “everyone I talk to” represents an almost infinitessimally small group relative to the population of voters.

It’s the people who live in the neighborhood and use the park. We want parking laws enforced so that we can drive home without tourists taking pictures of the hollywood sign blocking the road, we want the homeless camps cleaned up so we can walk underneath the 101 freeway to Hollywood without being attacked, and we want to be able to walk in our neighborhood without having to avoid used needles and human poop on the ground. She either doesn’t show up to neighborhood meetings or shows up and dismisses us as elitists. We’re elitists if we pay amongst the highest tax rates in the country and expect the police to show up when called, firetrucks to work, and our neighborhoods to be clean and safe.

Look. For the first time in the history of the state the population in California and Los Angeles is shrinking. That alone is a documented fact you have to accept.

Suppose people who do mail-in voting are a little lazier and less-informed that folks who show up in person. Suppose, there is a significant difference in that they vote more by name recognition than specific issues. I’m not saying any of that is true, but there could be a lot of reasons that late arriving ballots could skew heavily in one direction or another. Jumping immediately to fraud is baseless.

This knowledge may be a few years old, and it is also from Australia, but as I recall it, we used to have what we called “absentee voting,” which was for people who for one reason or another couldn’t vote on election day. The absentee votes were counted afterwards, and as I recall it, the commentators used to say that they would be expected to favor the conservative candidate, on the grounds that conservative voters were more conscientious, and more likely to go to the trouble of filling out the forms etc. to get an absentee vote. Your more recent experience in America seems to be dramatically opposite.

I think it’s probably just a variation on the technique of putting out the lights in the counting room if the election is not going well, and having a dramatic change in the trend afterwards.

It’s nearly impossible for illegals to vote in the USA. In order to get on the voter rolls, you have to show up and register at the elections office, showing id there. Id that proves you are an American citizen. Secondly, if you did show up and voted under someone with the same name and no id, you still have to go through the process of showing your id to an election’s official before the ballot is actually counted. There may be a tiny number who slip through, but that number has been shown to be statistically insignificant, like less than .001%.

The votes come in on election night. Then, the Democrats have two weeks to harvest the votes they need.

California mails a ballot to every single registered voter in the state.

But won’t that mean there are a bunch of undelivered ballots floating around that people could fill out in the following two weeks? No.

My understanding is all Registered voters receive a ballot. You can mail it in drop it off or go vote in person.
So if you vote twice they will know. Because your name is gonna show up that you voted twice.
I dont get what is the difference between two weeks and the next day. If gonna throw the election would it not be easier to take all the ballots on election night and declare a winner without having numerous checks and balances.

The heritage foundation has some information on voter fraud in every state. Its a conservative organization check it out. .

Jungle primary – top 2 vote getters advance to the fall elections regardless of party. 2 democrats will compete for LA mayor, but a republican will compete for CA governorship. Ranked choice is a good thing, and let me show you why. I live in a highly Republican area in Florida. We often have 5 people running for one position representing different interests of the party: libertarians, Baptists, land developers, general business. A few years ago, a libertarian candidate was very popular and likely to win the primary. So some prominent land developers got together and funded the campaign of a guy who sounded even more libertarian. So they split the libertarian vote, allowing the pro-land developer guy to get in with a small plurality of the vote. Ranked choice would have allowed the first and/or second vote to go to the original libertarian, and he would have won the election easily, because he actually represented the views of most of the folks in the area.

I think Bass and Raman are idiots, but Pratt makes them look tame by comparison in terms of being ill qualified.

The only thing your insane post is correct on is that this isn’t a D vs R thing. It’s a quality of candidate thing, and Pratt is patently unqualified. Being a trumpie in LA on top of being totally unqualified is not going to cut it here. Had there been a qualified candidate on the right side of the spectrum, he would have stood a chance to make the cut, as I would have much preferred to vote for anyone not named Bass or Raman. But not for MAGA unqualified Pratt. So I abstained instead and didn’t vote for mayor.

The issue with these seeds of voter fraud that Trump has been pushing since he lost to Biden is that they undermine the confidence in both Democrats and Republicans of our govt.

We now have a situation where neither is gonna be happy with the outcome this midterm election, and both will try to force the other to their view (aka belief that they won). We see this same pattern with everything else America has done throughout the world, same power struggle, and the same lies.

As we see in the world today a no confidence vote on the powers in charge is leading to war. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that when the citizen loses confidence in its own govt it means civil war.

Be careful how you tread, and what you tread on, for the future is ripe for blood in the streets.

They don’t need massive fraud. They just need a little in close races. And the text messages that PreCambrian describes below don’t preclude it. Those who count the votes decide everything. That being said, I highly doubt there was fraud in any meaningful degree in the LA mayoral jungle primary. I mean who cares?

There are representatives from both political parties observing the counting. They don’t see anything wrong. When there are people that absolutely want to challenge something, it is almost always that the signature doesn’t match properly. In a very few cases it is that the actual vote is unclear.

By your logic there should be no elections because “those who count the votes decide everything”. That actually isn’t the case. Recounts show that the counting is accurate to within a miniscule percentage. Given this fact then the only issue is “is the ballot from a legally registered voter?”. That is what comparing the signature is supposed to accomplish. And as Mish has described many times, audits of elections of millions of votes only turn up less than 10 illegal votes.

There is absolutely no basis in reality for the claim there is MASSIVE vote fraud in California. This is why you imbeciles show up in courts of law with ZERO evidence. You have no standards for evidence. None. You do not know what evidence looks like. Wild claims are not evidence. Consistently showing up in court with no evidence pretty much tells people Trump and his band of idiot voter fraud accusers do not know their asses from a hole in the ground. They’re dumber than bricks, and you believe them, which makes you… guess what?

I live in California. I get a text from the SOS when my ballot should be in my mailbox. I get a text from the SOS when they receive my returned ballot. I have never got an incorrect text (a text that they received my ballot before I completed it) or two texts (which would indicate that someone voted with my name in addition to my vote). I screwed up the ballot mailed to me and I had to “surrender” my previous ballot and attest to the fact. I asked for a receipt that I had surrendered my ballot but for some reason they wouldn’t do that. I was afraid that I might be charged with voting twice (since I had to sign the envelope, etc.) They did allow me to take a photo of the envelope with a very large green “surrendered ballot” sticker on it.

I have complete confidence in the counting of the ballots. I don’t have any confidence in the Trump administration. I actually voted for a Republican for Insurance Commissioner. I would probably vote for more Republicans if they weren’t so totally batshit. Right now my choices are between Republicans who don’t even want fair elections or Democrats who have basically closed down refineries in California and have stopped homeowners insurance rate hikes and therefore made homeowners insurance very difficult to obtain.

So I vote for Democrats because at least I will be able to vote them out of office. I won’t be able to do that with Republicans.

Probably, at this point in CA, the GOP must rely on the ape shit crazy shills to entice the tiny and shrinking base to fork out mullah. Not that they have a goal to govern, perish the thought, but just to channel funds in their direction.

Both Pete Wilson and Arnold Schwarzenegger won in California as Republicans. Schwarzenegger was the perfect Republican for California, socially relatively liberal and fiscally relatively moderate. Brown was actually very good in his last terms. Newsom doesn’t have any beliefs, he only wants what will get him elected. Definitely not a leader.

Same here. It’s awful voting in Cali these days. I still vote for the odd Republican if they are 1) qualified and 2) not MAGA drone cult members. Those are few and far between.

I end up skipping many choices bc the Democratic candidates are 90% crazy left too. It makes for a pretty sparsely filled in ballot.

The military stationed abroad in the hundreds of countries occupied by the U.S. votes largely by mail. They used to lean heavily Republican, but I may not be alone musing if they still do and that’s why the White House might be making sure that their votes must not be counted.

“It’s impossible to prove, but any reasonable American can just feel it.”

So what are the odds that the GOP gets crushed in the midterms and simply chooses to ignore the results because of this elusive “high level upstream fraud” that requires no evidence but a hunch?

There will be no election because the Chief Pedophile of the United States will not permit his reign of terror to be impeded by democracy. The US is now Zaire being looted by a white version of Mobutu.

I’m sure there will be an election just like there’s an election in Russia and China. And we all know who wins those. You get one choice but it still considered an election.

I don’t think we’re going to have an honest election. I don’t think we’re going to have an election that, at some point, Trump tries to arbitrarily declare the victories necessary on the claim that it’s so fucked up and fraudulent that only he can make that decision because he is the anointed one.

I tried to keep it from getting personal, you cock gobbler. 🙂
