Trump Humiliated by Putin Within Hours of His Ceasefire Announcement

Trump wanted a ceasefire so he announced one. Putin immediately ignored it.

Brutal Humiliation

Please note Trump brutally humiliated by Putin just hours after bombshell announcement

Donald Trump has been humilated by Vladimir Putin just hours after the US President made a groundbreaking announcement, with Russia launching a huge strike and leaving a power plant engulfed in flames. The President announced on Sunday that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an immediate “energy ceasefire”, which would see both sides halt attacks on each other’s energy infrastructure. In a dramatic post on Truth Social, he declared: “Effective immediately, there is an ENERGY CEASEFIRE in the War between Russia and Ukraine. Both parties have agreed. Do not break it! Thank you for your attention to this matter.” But within hours of the announcement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of continuing its attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure.

The Ukrainian leader had initially said the US President’s announcement was “news to me”, but later confirmed Ukraine was prepared to refrain from striking Russian energy infrastructure if Moscow did the same. Russia has yet to publicly confirm that it agreed to the ceasefire announced by Mr Trump.

Writing on social media, Mr Zelensky said: “Unfortunately, Ukrainian skies have been infested with Russian ‘shaheds’ all day today. There have been glide bomb strikes and strikes on our energy infrastructure too. A power plant in Kharkiv was attacked this evening.”

The power plant strike formed part of a deadly day of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s second-largest city. A separate strike also hit a grocery store in the Kharkiv area, killing three people and injuring 20 others, according to regional governor Oleh Syniehubov.

Two children were among those injured, while images from the aftermath showed badly damaged buildings and burned-out vehicles.

Kharkiv was also not the only city where energy infrastructure was targeted. Mr Zelensky said a Russian drone also struck a power plant in Kyiv, causing power outages in parts of the Ukrainian capital.

Trump Gives Putin a Hand

The New York Times reports Trump Gives Putin a Hand in Russia’s Economic War With Ukraine

President Trump is moving to buy Russian diesel while also pressuring Ukraine to halt attacks on refineries, a lifeblood of Moscow’s war machine.

President Trump’s deal to buy Russian diesel fuel, and his intense pressure on Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil refineries, could hand a powerful boost to Moscow in its economic war of attrition with Kyiv.

The diesel agreement, if it goes ahead, could send some $4 billion of American money into the Russian economy, energy experts said. A halt to refinery strikes, if Ukraine accedes to one, could be much more valuable to the Kremlin.

Ukraine is expected to get nothing in exchange as Mr. Trump enlists Russian help in his effort to bring down sky-high diesel prices, caused mostly by the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran, before the midterm election early next month.

Moscow remains free to continue attacking Ukrainian ports, steel factories, warehouses, power plants and data centers, a campaign that is gradually pushing Ukraine’s economy toward a breaking point. Such attacks destroy nearly $10 billion in business assets each year, Ukraine’s economy minister has said.

Russia Pounds Ukrainian Energy Despite Ceasefire

The Wall Street Journal reports Russia Pounds Ukrainian Energy Despite Trump’s Ceasefire Announcement

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian strikes had hit energy infrastructure across his country hours after President Trump declared an energy ceasefire between the warring sides.

The Russian attacks—including on gas infrastructure, a power plant and a substation—come as the U.S. heaps pressure on Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil refineries, and after Trump moved to allow Russia to export diesel to the U.S. in a bid to drive down American prices at the pump.

“Last night, Russian oil refineries were not burning. But at midnight, a Russian jet-powered Shahed struck a gas-production facility in Ukraine,” Zelensky said in an address to the Warsaw Security Forum on Monday. “And there was also a Russian strike on an ordinary gas station, involving several drones.”

Ukraine has long maintained that it would be prepared to halt drone and missile strikes on Russian oil facilities if Moscow stops its bombing campaign against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which has already caused widespread power cuts this fall.

Overnight, a Russian jet-powered drone attack damaged critical equipment at a gas infrastructure facility in the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian state oil-and-gas company Naftogaz said.

Another attack damaged a power substation in the northern region of Zhytomyr, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha told journalists at a European Union foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg.

“No one should believe Putin’s words. Look at his actions instead,” Sybiha said, reiterating Ukraine’s readiness for a reciprocal energy ceasefire.

In an interview with ABC News on Sunday, Zelensky reiterated that it is up to the Ukrainian citizens to choose how and when to vote, adding that he had conveyed to the American side what would be required for an election.

“Please tell Putin, give us two months, 60 days off. Total ceasefire, 60 days, and we will organize elections,” Zelensky said, adding that security was a priority to hold any vote.

No One Should Believe Trump’s Words

It was not Putin who agreed to a ceasefire. Trump announced one with no hint of agreement.

Q: Is there any point to repeatedly looking looking like a fool?
A: No, it’s counterproductive.

What Trump Does Best

Looking like a fool is what Trump does best. He cannot control himself. And it does not matter the subject.

If Trump wants something he announces it. Legalities and constitutionality do not matter.

Reciprocal tariffs, birthright citizenship, the SAVE Act and mail-in voting executive orders, flouting the Epstein Files Transparency Act (EFTA), tariff rebates, $5,000 vote-for-me bribes, are examples.

Trump views himself as a king. He wants dictatorial powers so he assumes them, no more no less.

Lasting Republican Damage

Republicans will be damaged for decades from Trump’s actions.

His Inane loyalty picks in prior elections cost Republicans 2 senate seats in Georgia, 1 in Arizona, and 1 in Pennsylvania.

Loyalty pick John Paxton appears headed to the gutter where he belongs this election.

In the 2026 midterms, stupid tariffs and an absurd war are going to cost Republicans between 3 and 7 Senate seats off the top, and perhaps another could-have-been in Michigan.

That’s a grand total of 7 to 12 Senate seats.

Trump humiliated by Putin? C’mon Mish. You know better than post drivel like this.

As long as Zelensky continues to attack Russian refineries, send hordes of drones towards Moscow and attack non-military structures and kill innocents, then Putin will continue the attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Supposedly, a Ukrainian was involved with destroying the Nord Stream pipeline, but we all know that there was US involvement in that criminal act.

I think Trump is trying to get around Lady Lindsey Act by bringing in Russian diesel. Regarding laws, please. You don’t even know who killed JFK decades later. Laws are meant to be broken or circumvented. How often do our Presidents circumvent the law and break it? All the time. I’m so sick of these various commissions to investigate this or that. We are a Banana Republic masquerading as this high state of virtue. Ridiculous.

Finally, I think Trump is realizing that Zelensky and his Nazi henchmen are 1. Preventing the end of this war which the West cannot win (which the US started with coup in 2014) 2. Committing mass corruption that no longer can be hidden. How much has been grifted to American politicians and businessmen? 3. If Russia takes eastern Ukraine from the Dneiper River and Black Sea (Odessa) then Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and other bordering countries will gobble up western Ukraine and there will be no American business conducted. Blackrock will lose billions. I hate Blackrock which I think is awesome should it happen. The Ukrainian state will cease to exist. The Ukrainian people must rise up, declare neutrality and do business with the west and east. Otherwise, they are doomed.

I highly recommend going on You Tube and listening to interviews run by the various educated podcasters. If you get your geopolitical news from the mainstream media then you have no idea what is going on. One excellent written website is the Unz Review with multiple contributors.

You Tube: Judge Napolitano, Danny Haiphong, Danny Davis, Nima Alkorshid, Glenn Diesen, Patrick Henningsen, Gerald Celente, Garland Nixon, Larry Johnson, John Mersheimer, Aaron Mate, Brian Berletic, Alastair Crooke, Professor Jeffrey Sachs, Colonel Douglas MacGregor, etc. Apologies for any mispellings. These folks will lead you to more information and informed individuals than you can imagine.

Stay away from AP News and misinformed folks. If you go to Drudge, Breitbart, AP News, NY Times, Fox, and other MSM, you will be fed lies.

Speaking of deals, I wonder what side deals, or at least expectations of favors, this represents (involving a guy who can tip the Ukraine war either way any day with Starlink access). This does represent a lot of Republican advertising, pre-election:

The Uniparty must be replaced. There has to be created a government office independent like the GAO to investigate corruption. Also, term/age limits and a different way to fund elections other than lobbyists. Our system is messed up and our country reflects it. Musk providing BILLIONS to Republicans. This is good? How much is Soros and Co. providing to the Democrats? I see nothing positive for our country. Just chaos and suffering if the present system/parties continue on their path of destruction.

Confabulation is a memory error consisting of the production of fabricated, distorted, or misinterpreted memories about oneself or the world. It is generally associated with certain types of brain damage or a specific subset of dementias.

Undoubtedly, Trump delusions of grandeur convinced him that he is the master negotiator, and that he had brokered some sort of agreement.

Trump just makes up whatever story he thinks will help him at the time, and proclaims it to be the truth. Like when he says that a country is negotiating with him, when they are not. China and Iran, for example, have multiple times confirmed during these ‘Trump negotiations’ that no talks are going on. Or when he says country X is investing billions into America and it never happens.

Only the mainstream media and the stock markets seem to believe what he says, though there are indications that is changing.

Trump sort of puts himself in a position of power when he does stuff like this. He can claim there’s a ceasefire, which is of course BS as we all know. When both sides break the supposed ceasefire, which doesn’t really exist, he can choose to get mad at whichever side he wants by claiming they broke the ceasefire and can enact sanctions, etc however he feels. I’m pretty sure he isn’t smart enough to have planned this out ahead of time, but it could work if he played it right.

This time zelensky exposed that it was all BS before he had a chance to take action on either side. We’ve probably also reached the stage where everybody knows it’s all BS now and nobody is gonna be fooled by him, so this strategy (if it ever actually were one) has probably reached its use-by date.

If the George Washington carrier doesn’t return to its base in Japan, then the odds are higher.

“The Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group departed San Diego last week and could reach the region as early as the end of October, joining the George HW Bush and George Washington carrier strike groups.
The deployment would temporarily place three US aircraft carriers in the Middle East for the first time since 2003, according to the report.
By late October, the US naval presence is projected to exceed 20,000 sailors and Marines.”

In the Iraq War they had neighboring country from which to base an assault of a size sufficient to take a country. It took several months to amass it. There is no obvious country from which the US military could amass an invasion to invade Iran. Making the only choice a massive amphibious assault to establish a very large beachhead. Right now, the US military lacks that amphibious capability.

As I understand it, the Mecca Agreement was among Sunni Moslem powers. Persia is Shia. So it seems reasonable to me to believe that the alliance is an alliance against Persia.

Given that, again as I understand it, the Sunni are the most unforgiving Moslems, willing to slaughter anyone who doesn’t worship Allah their way, yet at the same time allied for the time being with Israel and the U.S.A., I see lots of potential for horrific massacres and horrific double-crosses here.

On Trump and his cease-fire, I assume he knows what he is doing. I don’t understand why, as other people have said, he doesn’t just tell the Ukrainians that there will be no more weapons, subsidies, or targeting help. Then the Russians could restore order and hang Zelensky. Or would that be seen as betrayal by all the silly people?

I recall that at the end of World War Two, the West couldn’t accept a separate surrender by the Germans on the western front, because the Western working class would have seen it as a betrayal of our Communist brothers-in-arms.

Trump Humiliated by Putin Within Hours of His Ceasefire Announcement

Nope, Trump humiliated himself since there was no ceasefire, it was all in his head. Putin actually extended Trump a courtesy (as usual) by not exposing his lie while Zelensky promptly stated that he didn’t know anything about that ceasefire and mocked Trump by saying that he was interested in it and was waiting to hear the details…

Trump Gives Putin a Hand

What?!? This is Putin (again) helping out Trump!
There actually is some well founded internal criticism about Putin agreeing to this “deal” since there was an export ban in place (which Putin lifted immediately after agreeing to sell diesel to the US and other international customers) and that export ban was there was a reason, a reason which is still there: Ukraine’s attacks on Russian refineries (which BTW actually are Anglo-American attacks).
What lifting the export ban will do is raising the diesel price on the internal market and with it raising the inflation rate and it will most probably also make shortages come back (Russia refines much more diesel than it needs and even with some refineries offline thanks to the export ban it managed to build a nice reserve, which is what the cuck in the Kremlin is now selling, with a nice profit it must be said, to the Americans and the others).
Contrary to the usual Western MSM propaganda bullshit which most people here blindly believe, the shortages of diesel in Russia were very small and above all very short lived and prices were at a level that the West can only dream of (even considering the average Russian’s purchase power).

Shortages are local and due to rerouting of distribution, not shortfalls.

Yes only local (and in very few places) and because of distribution/logistics which this year was mainly due to Ukro-NATO attacks (although occasional local shortages and price spikes were always rather common at that time of year and so were temporary export bans).

People talking about 40% of the refineries have taken a hit are delusional about the the size of refineries and how much damage a spectacular fire in a storage tank causes.

Trump ignored this to disrupt geopolitics, to stick to his wrong, harmful policies toward Canada, the Middle East, and (arguably) Ukraine. and Russia The new face of war and diplomacy and trade flows is making an idiot out of him on all fronts.

And at least one big Canadian firm is investing big now to export energy elsewhere, The errors of Trump’s USA policies are piling up and compounding.

Anyone who doesn’t understand this is sitting at the table with Trump

Since Trump returned to the White House, he has announced dozens of “deals” that have amounted to nothing. It’s almost a daily occurrence.

The funny (and embarrassing) part is when the other party in the deal says “what deal?” or “we haven’t even talked to Trump”.

And how many times has a deal actually been made and Trump reneges on it the within hours or days?

This new ceasefire is just another example of stuff Trump makes up.

Another embarrassing part is people reporting the deal as real, even after such a long record of the purest bull manure.

This was all an ephemeral election publicity stunt anyway.

Trump is incapable of being humiliated. He has zero sense of shame or remorse. He only acknowledges responsibility in any form when claiming positive credit for himself for everything, or laying blame on others.

One could as easily say Trump was humiliated by Zelenskii, who also disclaimed any ceasefire.

@Walt – since you claimed i never lived in Ukraine- I’d fish up my Ukrainian pension card if I could.

Subtle difference, Zelensky said he would abide by it.

Putin sent missiles.

I wonder if Russians will look back at this part of their great history with shame in 50 years time. It is a long way from the great nation that defeated Napolean and Hitler. So sad.

Russia repeatedly proposed a ceasefire in 2023, which Zelenskyy and Blinken always refused, saying it would be advantageous to Russia.

Of course he would, this ceasefire (like all of the other proposed ceasefires that Russia rejected) would greatly benefit Ukraine and NATO (which means the US too!) because the Western MSM propaganda bullshit that you usually buy, especially on foreign matters, is the inversion of reality: Russia DOES NOT NEED CEASEFIRES BECAUSE IT IS WINNING (despite the cuck in the Kremlin), NATO DOES.

Yet, while Putin actually extended Trump a courtesy (as usual) by not exposing the truth that the ceasefire was only a figment of Trump’s imagination, the cokehead in Kiev couldn’t resist the urge of promptly stating that he didn’t know anything about that ceasefire and mocked Trump by saying that since he was interested in it he was eagerly waiting to hear the details…

In summary: it was not Putin that humiliated Trump, which is what you are trying to argue, it was Zelensky.

I’d say Trump humiliated himself if he thought Russia would stop pressing onward toward its goals.

Agree, I too wrote the same in another comment here. The first one to humiliate Trump was Trump himself.
Then it was Zelensky; and Putin was as usual too much of a gentleman.

Yes, but only after Zelensky initially said “news to me” about a ceasefire agreement (from the news quote above)

AKA, Trump did not clear this with Zelensky beforehand (I’d call that humiliating, too)

This was played on Russian state TV as a masterful diplomatic triumph for Putin, and a pivotal moment for Zelensky. But they are often drenched in delusion, and increasingly grasping at straws.
They did comment on Musk’s bizarre level of influence and control, via Starlink access, over the war fortunes of nations.

I noticed this too. I have an open question about it on the next thread. I’ve asked a few geopolitically aware people already and received answers that none of us feel confident in.
