Nikki Haley Will Be ‘On Our Team in Some Form’, says Trump.
CNN reports Trump Says He Thinks Haley Will Be ‘On Our Team in Some Form’
Former President Donald Trump said Thursday he believes Nikki Haley will be “on our team in some form,” weighing in for the first time on the former South Carolina governor’s announcement a day earlier that she’d be voting for him.
Asked by a News 12 reporter at his Bronx rally whether there is “room for her on your team, or better yet, your ticket,” Trump replied, “I think she’s gonna be on our team, because we have a lot of the same ideas, the same thoughts. I appreciated what she said, you know, we had a nasty campaign. It was pretty nasty, but she’s a very capable person, and I’m sure she’s going to be on our team in some form. Absolutely.”
Haley, who served as ambassador to the United Nations under Trump, said Wednesday that she will vote for him in November, but she did not offer a full-throated endorsement. She instead encouraged Trump to reach out to her supporters, some of whom have continued to cast their vote for her in primaries since she exited the race.
“Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, and not assume that they’re just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that,” Haley said during a Q&A session following a speech at the conservative Hudson Institute in Washington, DC.
Trump reiterated he is likely to decide on a running mate “sometime during the convention,” which begins in Milwaukee on July 15.
Good Move!
No, make that great move, and for multiple reasons.
First, it shows Trump can put aside differences. That’s a change.
Second and more importantly, it shows Trump wants to win, not just appeal to the MAGA base that hates Nikki Haley.
OK, I get it. Nikki Haley is a Neocon. But millions of people like her. It is more important to do things to win than to get cheering from the MAGA base.
Nikki Haley supporters are not going to vote for Biden, but they might sit it out. Trump needs to bring as many of those voters into the fold as possible.
If Trump can just knock off the name calling he will be better off.
This is how it will play: Trump wants a “bird brain” in his administration. Bird brain is the term Trump repeatedly called Nikki Haley during the primary campaign.
Some voters will be permanently turned off by the nastiness of the primaries. But Trump now has a chance to bring some of the fence sitters back into the fold.
Huge Inroads with Blacks and Young Voters
Trump has made huge inroads with Blacks and young voters. Now he is trying to appeal to suburban women.
If he can continue to do this, he has a potential to win in a landslide.
Meltdown Over Young Voters Sitting Out the Election
On April 29, I commented James Carville Has Meltdown Over Young Voters Sitting Out the Election
Swing State Poll Shows Black Voters Abandoning Biden In Huge Numbers

On April 12, I commented Swing State Poll Shows Black Voters Abandoning Biden In Huge Numbers
Blacks constitute only 14 percent of the voting age population, but the swings toward Trump are so huge they could decide the election.
WSJ: “While most Black men said they intend to support Biden, some 30% of them in the poll said they were either definitely or probably going to vote for the former Republican president.”
That poll is stale, but every poll since then shows the same thing.
Goodness Gracious
“My goodness gracious, my God. That is a huge lead. No Democrat has lost that state since John Kerry.”
Two New Swing State Polls Show Why Biden Is Desperate to Debate Trump
Trump Leads in 5 Key States, as Young and Nonwhite Voters Express Discontent With Biden according to Nate Cohn at the New York Times.

On May 19, I commented Two New Swing State Polls Show Why Biden Is Desperate to Debate Trump
The Shocker
18-29 year-olds turned out en masse for Biden four years ago. Trump now leads age groups 18-29 and 30-44.
And it’s not just the youth vote. According to Pew, Biden captured 92 percent of the black vote in 2020. Now it’s 49-14-11 (Biden, Trump, Kennedy).
If these percentages hold, Trump is going to win every swing state plus a few more not yet presumed to be in the ballpark.
Reflections on the Economy
Economists still don’t get it. They think the economy is doing great.
If you are an asset holder, the economy might seem great (see Dear Jerome Powell, Is Everything Under Control? Spotlight Gold and Silver).
But the 36 percent of people who rent, mainly young voters and blacks, see things differently. And they will decide the election, for Trump, if the polls stay anywhere close to where they are.
Hint: The polls likely won’t change because the economy is nowhere close to strong, especially for those who will decide the election, renters, primarily young voters and blacks.
Specifically, People Who Rent Will Decide the 2024 Presidential Election

Trump must have promised her a couple of Middle East wars. That’s all it takes to win Nikki’s heart.
Trump is showing how he will govern. That will be from a broad base of input.
Biden has only one agenda that being from progressive left.
Trump will continue to demonstrate a willingness to isolate Dem party into the corner they have created for themselves. Dems all vote the same on a line item basis. There is no dissension allowed. Which is why they are not interested in fielding any candidate who is capable of thinking for themself. Prime example being present W.H. occupier.
Trump is betting on appealing to those with a different view on how to run a Nation then what is currently happening.
Not exactly a Team of Rivals but putting some rivals in your administration could work. Trump can serve only one more term so someone has to be prepared to take over in four years. He will need a strong VP.
This morning i see a headline on ZH, that the Libertarian Party nominated Chase Oliver.
Finally! A young candidate.
lol, go do your research. The guy’s a train wreck.
Haley’s campaign gave her the opportunity to speak and show how really stupid she is. It was embarrasing.
Wrong Mish! It means Trump is an idiot and will continue to be rolled by the neocons and the deep state.
Keep your Friends close, but your Enemies even closer, in politics anyway…
The punjabi skank is more of a chain around the neck, but US elections are just a choice of the least horrible candidate. Decent, honest people are not an option.
I don’t know. I think he should have left bird brain drift into irrelevance, though you are correct some of her voters might come out to vote for him because of this, but they are not many anyway. She was a foil meant to spoil his chances but was too delusional to see it, she should not be rewarded for her bad behavior.
It’s all very exciting. Multiple black swan events ahead
She would be happy to be appointed Federal Dog Catcher
Indeed, MAGA hates Haley (and she despises Trump). But Haley is trying a Hail Mary pass to get on Trump’s ticket. Trump will probably nominate her at the end to be ambassador to the WHO. At the same time, the Haley voters are conservatives, and no true conservative will vote for a scumbag like Trump.
Haley voters are conservatives…….
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I can gift you an English dictionary if you don’t know what “conservative” means.
If Nikki Haley is not the most odious POS in our political landscape, she’s certainly in the top five. I don’t know what that says about her “voters” but I doubt they would meet the English dictionary definition of conservative.
Great description.
I am talking about the Haley voters being conservative. Haley herself is just Trump on high heels. She says whatever she thinks gives her a political advantage, which means she calls Trump a scumbag one day, and then says she is voting for him the next day. But then numerous Republicans have done the scumbag-twist (Liz Cheney being a big exception).
Definitions of words evolve… perhaps I can help.
conservative (as of 2016) – noun: An obese crybaby that bleats it’s victimhood to anyone who will listen, plots to victimize anyone they think is not like them, and worships a tin-pot wanna be dictator.
When the only viable alternative is four more years of invasion and inflation (not that Trump is going to stop it, but it’s at least arguable that he can stop the bleeding) the Haley voters will hold their nose and pull the lever for Trump.
MAGA is a movement, and movements don’t have emotion, people do. Haley is extremely emotional, and bases her choices steered by emotion. Trump is smart and not at all emotional, but rather cunning and bases his decisions on facts, and a lot of self education along the way. He is very long range, and very strategic in his decision making.
My guess is that he will either do the bare minimum, to get the most from Haley voters, but concede no power or decision making to Haley. A cushy, do nothing, make money, and be in the game will be enough for Haley, as she was and is going nowhere Politically. They both know this, so an arrangement will be made as a result. One that benefits Trump short term (all he has), and keep her out of his hair and away from the press, until he’s gone again.
Trump making positive Haley noises fits his general strategy perfectly.
Trump uses tit-for-tat as his strategy. He gets in to trouble with his detractors because he hits back. Those he hits don’t like that. Also, he gets in trouble with his detractors because he butters up the opposition in his first move, before any opposition move.
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/t/tit-for-tat.asp
She is a blood thirsty war whore!
The next president will have to do a very ugly job and be extremely unpopular and extremely hated in order to clear the ground for the next 20Y/30Y.
That’s a bigly job, bigly.
Yep, and even a lame duck Trump won’t do a thing that could make him look bad, so he’ll do most of the same can kicking. The only thing he may be able to do correctly is seal the border (again).
Or alternatively he (or she) could not be a warmongering, zionist loving, geoncidal, psychopath. In that case, of course, it’s unlikely they would be elected.
Perfect for a Trump Presidency!!!
Trump doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty. Trump doesn’t care if he is liked, as he cares far more about America. The MSM already has their Anti-Trump Agenda in full swing, and it has been for years now. Nothing Trump does or doesn’t do will change that, and he knows it, and so don’t they.
Should be Great for the Country, and even pull the Nation together again, I dare say…
[1M] SPX might be down in the next 2Y. A lot, into RSI recession territory for the first time since Feb 2009. And more than once. The question is who has the skills to manage it and who can eliminate debt : Trump/Youngkin or Gamala/Biden. Can Jacklyn from the Olympic Tower (52nd street and 5th Ave) do it or Trump Tower.
“… into RSI recession territory …”
Uh, what?
Are you attempting to regurgitate what someone said on Fox?
What, exactly, is an “RSI recession”?
I don’t listen to Fox.
Vote for the one u hate the most .
RSI is Relative Strength Index. A technical tool used by some traders to estimate when stocks are overbought or oversold. Though, like you, I have no idea what an RSI recession is.
I keep a double RSI on my charts for entry/exits on short term positions (30/70, two difference time frames, never less then five minute frames), he’s obviously stitching words together that he thinks sounds right.
An “RSI recession” is nonexistent.
.
Trump was good at eliminating debt. He filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy 6 times.Maybe he will work that same magic for the country. Lol!
Now if he picks Tulsi, he will sweep the election.
Tulsi should be Trumps VP and put in charge of things to get her lined up for 2028 — then its her job to prove herself.
Haley should be NATO representative, help NATO pack boxes and mothball NATO headquarters. Haley gets her bribe money and stays out of the way… win win for voters. If Haley is in charge of anything important, it will be bad.
not bad, Willie…
…send neoCon Nikki to NATO, then pull the US out of NATO.
i like it. it’s the knife-to-the-face that she & neoCons deserve.
That would be the ultimate chess move.
Well Trump said he was going to ban birth control and Louisiana is now banning the abortion pill. So much for making headway with women voters. You can’t stop stupid.
But the real showcase has been the resounding Booooo he received at the Libertarian Party, the video is just painful to watch but very telling. We now know where most independent voters sit.
https://www.c-span.org/video/?c5118686/donald-trump-tells-libertarians-choose-presidential-nominee
Win by a landslide? Lol….nope.
Socialist / Marxists wanted a big bloated government that controlled everything everywhere all the time.
They now control your uterous, exactly what you wanted and voted for
Congratulations, you punked yourselves
So you believe Biden would gotten a different reception at the Libertarian Party convention?
Presumably all those attending are voting Libertarian. Trump just went on the chance he can convince a few to vote for him instead of Libertarian.
The MAGA people are going to vote for trump no matter what…
The dems will vote for Biden no matter what, the elections the past few cycles have been nearly 50/50. Some states came down to thousands of votes, remember trump begging for 11,000 votes in Georgia?
This election will come down to independents and women voters. Trump may gain a few points with blacks and latinos but that will merely replace all the elderly that voted for trump in 2016 that have since died.
Will Haley supporters vote for trump? Some will and some won’t and those that don’t will hurt a hell of a lot. If trump had gotten cheers at the Libertarian conference I would have said it’s a done deal, Trump wins but the booing showed it’s not a slam dunk.
Losing some republicans and some or most libertarians starts putting him deep in the negative column especially when it all rests on swing states.
Both of those guys are anti-libertarian as can be. Biden obviously wasn’t stupid enough to show himself there.
And now trump takes on a VP that publicly trashed him in hopes of getting the people that voted for her in the primaries.
Only fly in the ointment is they voted for her not because they wanted her, but because the did not want trump.
Visualize Losing, trump simps.
And your shuffling mumbling zombie never showed up after being invited. In fact, there isn’t a communist democrat on your side that would EVER show up to a LP convention or event because you people are cowards and pussies and too concerned with the next family grift
Based on this weekend, I think Kennedy pulls more voters away from Trump than Biden.
Trump said : “I think that Nikki Haley will be on our team in some form”. Some form can be anything. How about the US ambassador in India.
US ambassador to Antarctica, maybe… MAGA might accept that, just for the lulz.
Trump has a big mouth but he’s very smart. Trump is going to win by a landslide!
That’s why all his personnel selections end up undermining him. Stroke of genius.
“OK, I get it. Nikki Haley is a Neocon. But millions of people like her. It is more important to do things to win than to get cheering from the MAGA base.”
Seriously Mish?
Thinking voting changes anything?
Are you really advocating for the Orange Dotard and his Mustache’d Walrus again.
Does pathological Narcissism mean anything to you?
Trumps father, rejected him and sent him away to military school. Obama and Clinton had single mothers, “rejection’s cohort is narcissism” it is the recurrent presidential pathology of late.
Narcissists ally themselves to greater issues, external to themselves. (Mother Teressa was a classic narcissist BTW.) These strategic architected performances are then manifested as coming from them.
But?
It’s not about us! It’s about them seeking approval to rehabilitate feelings of imperfection from the rejection they suffered.
IT WILL ALWAYS BE ABOUT THEM…
Granted presidents come in a lot of pathologies like the alcoholic Bush with the horrible frozen evil mother. Strong link between alcoholism and cold mothers BTW.
I do not know a single ardent Trump supporter who came from a loving, empathetic and kind home? The good, strong, kind, caring substitution daddy president is a powerful meme for those who faced childhood rejection. One of my friends, from a horrible cold abusive home, has built a shrine, in his house, to Trump?
(Not that the molesting creepy gramps Biden is much of an improvement.)
What are the fundamental issues facing the US populace?
What are overriding issues that supersede all other issues?
What needs to change?
Will electing candidate A, B, C remove malevolent strictures hobbling and inhibiting a healthy society?
Or
Do we need to fire everyone and start over.
Starting over was placed into the constitution knowing full well we would get to the point of social strangulation and crony favoritism.
Do you really think, noodling around the edges will restore the US?
How about generating a Mish master list of things that really need to change to get the US onto a healthy trajectory. Then let’s analyze who can deliver the goods.
#1. On my list; is the pathological surveillance state and complicit judiciary capable of dis-intermediating any challenge to the states power. We’re slaves pretending to be free. They will make absolutely certain (one way or another), a Ron Paul or JFK will never ascend. They will cut the Carter’s off at the knees.
Starting over is really the only viable option, because media and everything else is locked down, bought out and 100% corrupt. A Digital Panopticon prison is reading and analyzing this post.
Like Jacklyn Onassis I hate what the US has become.
I would endorse starting over and that could be via several avenues. Any of which are fine with me
To the comments below on name calling. All complaints are against Trump but Democrats engage also but seem to do name calling against groups of people.
Hillary – deorables
Hockul – clowns
Bidens – always complaining about one group or another
Yes, Hilary said “Deplorables”
Trumped openly mocked a handicapped journalist, belittled the appearance of his own rape victim, beyond that I don’t think it’s necessary to list more…
While I could care less about such a juvenile topic, what names has Biden used?
Biden’s just boring, that’s his problem, he’s not an entertainer, like Trump, or Reagan for that matter.
.
You fell for the hoaxes.
I put it to ChatGPT, who will be a better president for the USA and the world?
ChatGPT says: Trump will be 0.01% better than Biden.
Massive risk.
DJT needs 110% of MAGA support.
Courting neoCon reptiles is probably the most efficient method of testing MAGA loyalty.
Trump does NOT need neoCon votes or support, imo – 2016 proved this point in spades. But he absolutely needs MAGA… ALL of MAGA – 2016 proved THIS point in spades, too.
If MAGA support wanes, DJT is finished.
Risk the base to woo “some fencesitters”.
Huge, unnecessary risk, imo.
“DJT needs 110% of MAGA support”
Correct.
He’s lost Libertarians, you might wanna watch this Trump Gets MERCILESSLY BOOED at Speech – YouTube
Where can they go : vote for Jacklyn ?
It’s either Trump or Biden.
IMO, the best thing Dem’s could do, set up “Free beer, shots and Strippers” festivals on election day, centered at least 30 miles away from voting locations.
The Libertarians heckle & boo EVERYONE… even THEIR OWN candidates.
Your “point” is moot.
Mish thinks the most important thing is to win the election, and his comment isn’t wrong – just woefully incomplete. Trump has to win the election first, but winning the election at the cost of losing the following four years is a waste of everyone’s time.
Winning the election is only step one. Being able to lead and influence once in office maters too.
Plenty of CEOs have “won the election” by the board of directors, only to fail miserably as the most capable staff decided to just bide their time until the CEO failed.
Washington DC has lost influence abroad. Allies like Israel and foes like Iran regularly give DC the middle finger. There are lots of critical global trade meetings between the BRICS countries where the US is not invited and not welcome. The US has lost every single war and “international police action” since Panama in 1990.
Domestically, even the moronic “talent” on TV have realized the masses are angry (better late than never). The situation at home is not as bad as abroad, but more Americans think the government is a hindrance than a help.
Trump can’t fix DC if he doesn’t get elected, but he also can’t fix DC if he appoints the same tired names as before.
“Mish thinks the most important thing is to win the election, and his comment isn’t wrong …”
Being realistic, I find it strange that no one’s talking about a jury currently deliberating a trial for the same charges that got Michael Cohen incarcerated, with far more evidence than they had on Cohen.
Regardless who you want to vote for, how and why is this topic not being talked about?
Trump is extremely likely to be incarcerated within weeks.
.
you and the senile crowd at MSNBC are hoping Trump will get locked up. You are out of your minds.
Do you also expect Biden to be jailed for taking bribes from foreign nationals? That is far more likely, and its not going to happen in real life.
Grow up
“you ….are hoping Trump will get locked up.”
“Hope” would be an understatement, equal application of the rule of law.
He has been charged with rape and successfully sued, openly admitted to sexual assault because “when you’re wealthy they let you”.
He has exemplified extreme wealthy privileged & entitlement, and that’s an example to the world of what America stands for.
No prosecutor in the country would try a case like this. It’s strictly political. The NY Democrat legal establishment has no ethics at all.
“The NY Democrat legal establishment has no ethics at all.”
Said by countless Rikers inmates.
.
Trump is probably praying for incarceration in October. It will secure his landslide like no other candidate before. The constitution does not prohibit an inmate from winning. It will solidify the Democrat corruption in the history books. If he stays out of prison, these kangaroo trials will quietly fade away and never be written about by the academics.
“ The constitution does not prohibit an inmate from winning.”
This is true.
He’ll be incarcerated for 1-1/2 years, same as Cohen, which then means if he were to win, the VP would be acting president.
The presiding judge is very unlikely to offer a reduced or lightened sentence in light of the number of contempt charges during the trial, the whole case rests on exemplifying the concept of “no man is above the law”.
This state conviction is untouchable by Fed government or executive powers, leaving the probability of impeachment to grow as time passes and his inability to serve becomes increasingly apparent.
.
.
Wrong, he just needs the same people who voted for him in 2020 (slam dunk), plus a few more young people and few more black people and he’s in. Did you not read the article above?
Trump is the damage mitigation candidate. Upon re-entry, he will be older than Ronald Reagan was when Reagan left office. Drawing the same tired, washed-up names out of the same hat of corrupt useless bureaucrats is going to really piss people off. If Trump wants to use Nikki Haley to get elected, whatever. If he wants to do something beyond keeping the oval office warm, Haley’s role needs to be ceremonial at most.
If Trump wants to be anything other than a seat warmer, he needs a representative government. That rules out the over 65 crowd that dominates Washington DC and has horribly overstayed their welcome.
He needs more people like Tulsi Gabbard, and fewer people like Nikki Haley.
James Carville peaked in the 1990s. He and Mick Jagger desperately need to act their age. They already had several farewell tours, they are done. Get out and stay out.
As Mish pointed out two posts ago, the Convalescent News Network is watched by people drooling in retirement homes. Neither its audience nor its on air “talent” are going to change the world – they had their time already.
I get what Mish is trying to say about winning the election and not pissing off the Republican establishment too much; but the establishment (both parties) have horribly overstayed their welcomes. Enough already. You are done. Get out and stay out.
Washington DC desperately needs new blood if it is going to be relevant going forward, and if any of these people had talent, they should recognize their limitations. They should be emeritus already, they should be mentoring younger people not pretending to still be in the game.
Trump is just a place holder unless he fills DC with people well under 65, and names that aren’t left over from previous regimes. Nikki Haley had her chance, and her ONLY function now would be to appease the likes of Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer – both of whom should have been retired years ago. Haley is there because she poses no replacement threat.
A country with an average age around 39 cannot be ruled by people well into their 70s and beyond. A smattering of the same old ass kissing age 50+ names, chosen not to pose a threat to the octogenarians. Winning the election is step 1, being leader afterwards requires buy in from the whole country, not just retirees
All true!
The bitter civil wars raging inside both major political parties remains another untouchable news story by regime media. The fact is that most of the people inside the Republican Party are neither conservatives, nationalists, or Constitutionalists. The actual conservatives within the party are the “Freedom Caucus,” and just a few others. The rest of the party is simply neocons, RINOs, and big government Beltway Bandit globalists.
“The bitter civil wars raging inside both major political parties…”
There’s no extreme disagreements on the left.
Republicans, yes, but nothing near that on the left, for now.
.
Democrats spend money to buy voters.
Republicans cut taxes to buy campaign donors.
Given a binary choice of one or the other, I’ll vote for the voters interests, until the “end of days” comes that Republicans have promised for 30 years.
I’m not a Democrat, but math is math, and once bribery was legalized by the SCOTUS in 2010 as “free speech”, the writing was on the wall, there’s no stopping this path.
I just prefer not to die broke or starving, where I cannot out-bid billionaires in campaign funding.
.
Agree. If is important to focus your attention on improving your own life rather than wasting your time on things you cannot control; like politics.
While I’d much rather talk shop, stocks or business, and other productive topics, I can’t escape the feeling I’m living Germany’s “Reichstag” moment in real time.

😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 you girls on the left are simply hilarious. Made up boogeymen and scared of your own shadows. Stay in the basement. It’s safer there
Porta-potty graffiti artist.
Half right:
Lots of individuals have changed the world in fact that’s all that ever really has.
Occupy was the only leaderless movement that moved the needle. Usually you need MLK or Ghandi.
Say what you will about bird brain but she absolutely ruined her presidential aspirations by running against Trump. MAGA does not forgive or forget. Same can be said about Ron DeSantis. All he had today do was get in line behind Trump, become his VP and then coast to victory in 2028.
Some people will never learn.
Well someone has to run in 2028. If you think all those who ran against him in 2024 are doomed for 2028 then where do you think a viable candidate will come from in the next 4 years?
Trump’s endorsement will go a long way toward helping whomever runs in 2028 and expect to see several of those who ran this time run again because they aren’t that old.
Vivek ran a great campaign. Very loyal to Trump. Haley and DeSantis were not. So Vivek has a shot as does Tulsi and whoever Trump chooses as his running mate.
This Vivek?

Trump/Youngkin or Trump/Scott have a better appeal than Gamala/Biden. Trump needs a good partner, a good future president. Trump is old.
Hell, my neighbors barking dog has more appeal, doesn’t mean I’d vote for it.
America needs a strong dose of “stable”.
Trump needs a good, conservative partner to stabilize him. He doesn’t need a radical or a Saint for the VP ticket. Saint Pence screwed up. If elected he will be only a transitional president. 4 years max. The question is who will build a better base for the future: Trump/Youngin or Gamal/Biden.
The answer is: “none of them”. Expecting politicians to make the future better for you is a waste of time. If you want a better future, you need to make it for yourself.
I don’t control the climate change. I don’t care about the temp 500
million years ago.
I can’t control climate change either. But I can understand it and profit from it. What do you understand and profit from?
Profit? Like make money? Make money, for what? Why? Make money, then what? Any other values than making money? Any virtues other than prudence?
I focus on improving all aspects of my life; health, wealth, family and friends. I am an exercise junkie; run over 25 miles per week; gym workouts; long walks with family and friends, etc. But I’m not here to talk about my health and family. This is an economics blog and I am here to discuss economics and investing. I have picked up some great investment ideas that were literally worth millions to me. And I have tried to share some investment info as my way of paying it back. Whether people want to listen to my suggestions is up to them.
But yes, my focus here is often on improving my wealth. Why are you here?
It’s not who would make a better president, it’s who would aid America in committing national suicide – and that man is Joe Biden.
You must take me for someone who cares about who wins the election. I don’t vote and I don’t care who wins. I can profit from whichever moron wins. I made money during both Trump and Biden’s terms.
All true
You may need to leave the US but a better life is always an option.
“Trump needs a good, conservative partner to stabilize him.”
Like, perhaps, Pence?
Perhaps a reformed white collar cell-mate who’s found God and can impart his hard learned lessons to Trump.
He’ll likely get the same time Cohen did, he’ll also likely remain influential, what happens between incarceration and release will be very important.
.
Again, we see pols have no moral core. Trump is just another sleazy politician with grandiose ideas and willing to do anything to implement his program.
“Trump is just another sleazy politician”
I can’t think of a single sleazy politician that’s ever run for office after being successfully sued as a rapist.
There’s a strong likelihood he’ll be serving a sentence while campaigning, this is no garden variety sleazebag, he’s a whole new level.
.
Nobody believes the Stalinist courts and Dr. Ford.
Goebbels did a profound job convincing the populace that all other news was “fake news”.
History, doomed to repeat.
.
Your neighbor’s dog is smarter than u. If Trump scares a guy like u it’s a good reason to vote for him.

I attribute this to the nonstop right wing bitching about cherry picked data, such as inflation, that ignores reality.
Seriously, 50% of the American public thinks stocks are down for the year, meanwhile I’m making a killing in stocks.
How freaking stupid are people?!?
They ain’t all that bright on the whole.
However, ’23 fiscal year spending at the federal level was nearly 28% borrowed money the growth you see isn’t what you think it is.
“However, ’23 fiscal year spending at the federal level was nearly 28% borrowed money the growth you see isn’t what you think it is.”
This spending growth started in 1980, when Reagan’s initiation of “job creating” tax cuts created the jobs in China, and yet they still continued increasing the tax cuts to wealthy campaign donors.
“There’s a Trump voter born every minute”
P.T. Barnum
.
Spending growth started in earnest with Johnson’s vote buying, but that doesn’t detract from the observation that last year’s ‘growth’ isn’t genuine growth.
Also, Growth != Prosperity
People are incredibly stupid. One look at the comments section here demonstrates that. They get their info from cult conspiracy websites and tik-tok. They will gladly tell you that their eyes glaze over when someone mentions math or science. They are proud as hell to be dumb f*cks.
They tell you that you are an idiot to invest in stocks, while you make millions each year doing just that.
Then they complain about not being able to afford the high prices of things today. And it’s always someone elses fault that they are poor.
They are poor because they waste their time complaining rather than working hard to make a better life for themselves and taking advantage of the opportunities that are right in front of them. But they can’t see those opportunities because they are blinded by their own cult narratives.
Yep. There are a lot of stupid people.
“Yep. There are a lot of stupid people.”

Thank you, in advance.
.
I choose to have an incredibly busy life. Always trying to improve and enjoy my situation. I can go many days without having any spare time to check out this excellent blog. Occasionally, I have some spare time (typically weekends and some evenings) and I will pop in and comment. But I cannot guarantee when I have the time.
Thanks for the comment.
The people I know are feeling the effects of greater than 20% inflation the past 3.5 years, and they see that the economic data is manipulated and Frankengineered.
I think the citizenry has finally lost all trust and confidence in both regime media’s endless lies and marxist cheerleading, as well as the government institutions that are being forced to churn out these steaming piles of worthless metrics that get parroted.
I love rib-eye, I haven’t had one in a year, solely on principle I refuse to buy beef at over $15/lb.
I learned that beef prices have been subject to a price fixing scheme by the “big 4” meat producers attempting to buy out cattle ranchers.
From there, I remember how the TBTF’s inflated oil prices in 2008 to crush disposable incomes and collect on shorts on sub-primes.
What I do know is that I bought chicken drums to barbecue for less than 1$ / lb yesterday, Pork is also reasonable, this isn’t all inflation, not when prices are so diverse, this is something else.

Blah, blah, blah. Complain, bitch, complain. When did Americans change from being self-reliant to being such whiners and crybabies? You’re embarrassing.
When Biden/Obama took office
So all the bitchers and whiners must be Republicans? Got it. Thanks.
“…When did Americans change from being self-reliant to being such whiners and crybabies? You’re embarrassing.”

Apologies for jumping in, just had to quote that interaction, classic, absolute classic.
Now, off to grab a paper towel…..
.
Sorry. Hope you didn’t stain anything.
Rather than looking at unemployment, look at labor participation rate – it’s still under what it was pre-WuFlu, far less than in the late 90s, and static over the last year. How can the economy be growing with a static labor force participation rate? And as mentioned in Mish’s blog, a high percentage of new jobs were government (i.e. non-productive) jobs that subtract from the economy.
As for stocks & market, it’s a fixed casino NOT a guaranteed money-maker – every time I’ve tried, the stocks’ value tank (I do have a Master’s degree in engineering, so I’m quite comfortable with math & science). The current stock markets often widen wealth disparity by increasing wealth of stock owners (NOT the majority of people) by non-productive means (e.g. stock buyback, layoffs, FOMO, etc…) rather than increasing wealth in general by creating a product people want.
So lump me in with the freaking stupid people – I only know what I see from my static paycheck, increasing prices at stores, increasing taxes, unemployed peers, and decrease in full time job postings.
“Rather than looking at unemployment, look at labor participation rate”
Absolutely, Boomers are retiring faster than birth rate.
Factoring that, it looks like the rest of your argument is altered, drastically.
If you happen to have a time machine, go back 25 years and tell millennials to “get it on”, or we can presently loosen immigration law, beyond that, good luck with labor supply.
I will take a stab at your questions on the economy and the stock market.
Start by taking a look at company earnings and cash flow. A LOT of companies are growing both quite substantially. Which is why the market has defied the critics and doomers. Stock prices often reflect the present value of future earnings, and if earnings continue to rise, so will stocks.
The people expecting a recession, and a market correction, were looking at things like the Fed, inflation, interest rates, global conflicts, etc. All of which pointed to a possible slowdown. But company results have defied expectations. So the market and the economy continue to chug along.
Regarding jobs, they also continue to chug along at a steady pace. And wages are growing as well. This speaks to productivity improvements. Because if hiring is up, wages are up, and profits are up; there must be some pretty good productivity improvements.
As to your inability to profit in the market, you could start by looking at some of the recommendations that people make here. And then investigate them yourself. I have made a number of recommendations over the last four years. Most of them have done very well and some were downright spectacular. Of course, there was the occasional dud as well.
adjust GDP “growth” for YoY inflation.
are higher costs & prices the same as growth?
consumers understand this dynamic better than anyone.
Again, chicken, pork prices are back to where they were 5 years ago, beef has come down, but it’s still high enough that a basket of food containing beef is more expensive than 5 years ago.
Real inflation would have everything up, not just beef.
While I doubt you’re interested in hearing anything aside what you want to hear…, Google “The big four beef price fixing” read any article you find.
Maybe their crap 401k choices didn’t have Nvidia?
The economy’s bifurcation more than ever. The truth is 20% of the people drive 90% of gdp. It’s very easy for 80% of the people to feel worse off now.
True, though there is a silver lining, the real economy has been diverging from the publicly traded one for decades.
This is demonstrable on the frequent disparity between ADP and government employment reports, ADP reports solely for publicly traded companies.

Definite upvote.
The price for suburban women – a bloodthirsty Neoconservative. Not sure it’s worth it.
“If Trump can just knock off the name calling he will be better off.”
First, Mish, you are asking Trump to knock off the Name-calling his opponents and the other Idiots in Government.
It was Trump that grabbed my attention with those Clever and FUNNY labels. Some of them were so spot on, that it OF COURSE made those who had them pinned on them (and THEIR supporters) just GASP and HAND-WRING over such terms.
CROOKED= HILARY. PURRRRR-FECT!
Low Energy Jeb
Lyin’ Ted (THIS SHOULD BE UNIVERSAL LABEL!!)
Pocahontas (I LOL’d when I read that one. THAT WAS DELICIOUSLY “DESERVING” for that piece of dog doo-doo.
Crazy Maxine (if you have seen and heard her speak in those ECON meetings –well, that term FITS her. SHE IS INSANE).
Little Marco
Crazy Joe Biden (crazy, DEMENTED Joe and his Drug Addict spawn)
We could go on and on. THE BEST PART OF TRUMP is HIS SPOT ON HUMOR.
NO ONE ELSE has a sense of Humor in Politics. IT IS SADLY TRUE.
I don’t give a damn whether anyone thinks it’s true. I care about doing things that will win the election.
Appealing to the base cost Trump the election in 2020.
“Appealing to the base cost Trump the election in 2020.”
It also won him the election in 2016.
.The secret sauce lies in how terrified regular Americans are of the coming “end of days” massive stock market crash and hyperinflation that’s coming, as long as Sean Hannity is more convincing than Peter Schiff has tried to be for decades.
Meanwhile, my portfolio’s exploding, I own zero gold…sorry, Peter Schiff & Sean Hannity’s “Goldco”.
Sorry about that Better get some ASAP
That’s true. It’s because winners in general (Sports, Politics, Business etc) tend to repeat the exact same formula because it was good enough the last time. Only the losers change strategy.
That’s a big reason why Trump is looking better now because he’s making changes while Biden is repeating the exact same formula as 4 years ago.
“…It’s because winners in general (Sports, Politics, Business etc) tend to repeat the exact same formula because it was good enough the last time. Only the losers change strategy.”
Your point is extremely valid, by the fact that he’s been proven to be a rapist, and he’ll likely be running as an inmate, yet still a poll contender.
.I’m not being facetious, there are definitely some interesting takeaway’s for any business owner or salesman here.
Nonsense.
Absolute nonsense.
Name-calling isn’t humorous to most, nor is it particularly clever. Lazily slapping a denigrating adjective in front of someone’s name is so simple that a child could do it.
And yet nearly everyone does it at some point or another.
Where do you think derogatory slang comes from.
Heck it’s practically the bedrock of comedians routines.
At some point or another? 45 is a one trick pony in that regard and a skipping record at that.
Ideally there is a long distance between comedy routine and head of state. (Except in the U.S. and Ukraine)
“Name-calling isn’t humorous to most, nor is it particularly clever.”
For the first five minutes it can be, from there the remaining audience is subject to IQ level.
Stand-up comedians know when to drop it back and be serious in spurts.
The best standup’s can actually stay serious the whole time and keep the audience laughing anyway.
Trump is a great comedian.

Can you believe anything any of these people say? I have a really hard time believing Trump has no grudge, too.
