Trump Rejects Iran Ceasefire Proposal, Says More Bombing After Election

There’s a lot going on with this headline. Let’s discuss.

Trump says ‘I’m rejecting their deal’ as he vacillates between diplomatic, economic and military alternatives including a UN threat to annihilate them.

Trump Rejects Iran Ceasefire

The Wall Street Journal reports Trump Rejects Iran Ceasefire, Expects Renewed Bombing After Midterms

President Trump has rejected Iran’s proposal for a seven-day ceasefire and has told aides he expects to resume bombing Iran after the November midterms, U.S. officials said.

Tehran’s proposal would have reopened the Strait of Hormuz and resumed nuclear talks in return for the U.S. lifting its blockade of Iranian ports, which is causing deep damage to the country’s economy. Trump says openly that Tehran is begging for a deal after the midterms that dismantles its nuclear program.

But privately Trump was skeptical Iran would meet his demands and has told his staff that he sees a renewed bombing campaign as likely, the officials said.

After this article was published, a reporter asked Trump on Saturday about the offer. “I’m rejecting their deal,” he said

Trump told the United Nations this week politics don’t enter his mind when aiming to pry nuclear fuel from Iran.

“The Republican Party is running, and I’ll be helping them, but I am not running. I gave absolutely no credence and will not give credence through the election when it comes to Iran,” he told world leaders during the annual General Assembly in New York. “The only thing that does is that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.”

Trump has also told Republicans to pretend he is on the ballot when they head to the polls.

Why the Iran Peace Offer?

  1. To make Trump look bad.
  2. Iran is economically hurting.

I suspect both, but definitely number one.

Iran’s terms were everyhing on the MOU and more. So Trump could never accept it.

But by offering to discuss, with Trump immediately rejecting, suggests to the American public who is sick of the war, where the problem is.

Why Bombing After Election?

  1. The US is running out of bombs
  2. Trump does not want to risk lives or equipment before the election
  3. Who knows to what extent this is just more Trump BS

More War After the Election, Hooray?!

The US is sick of the damn war. So what does Trump do but pledge more of it after the election.

That’s one hell of a poor election proposal.

Trump told Republicans to pretend he is on the ballot when they head to the polls.

Believe me, they will.

His favorite suffix after telling a lie used to be “in two weeks”, now it is “after the election”.

Just more hot air.

If the GOP were to retain control of the senate and the house my bet is that you would see boots on the ground in January. Thank God that is unlikely to happen.

I think Trump is relying on a democratic congress to get him out of this mess so that he can blame them for it and everything that happens afterwards.

Yes, he always needs someone else to clean up his messes, that is his legacy. He’s a total moron, but was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and a trust fund to cover up his ineptitude. He is a good bullshitter though, as evidenced be all the voters he’s duped and entertainment he’s provided for halfwits. Hopefully they’ll take some ownership for their misjudgments in the midterms

Some observations:

  1. The Azerbaijan F1 in Baku race took place in close proximity to Iran and its potential to wage war activities. There was no violence, protests and no credible threats. Not even smoke on the horizon…
  2. Bahrain F1, Qatar and Saudi F1 races have not been re-scheduled. This is a strong indicator that the region is stabilizing. Iran is not a significant threat.
  3. Iranian weaponry is depleted even worse than the US’s and its proxies are also depleted and heavily targeted.
  4. Ships are getting through the strait of Hormuz with increasing frequency resulting in windfall revenue streams for the producers and shippers of those products.
  5. Global refined products are barely adequate and demand distraction is real.
  6. US oil companies are reaping massive profits from huge “War Premium” refined product margins.
  7. Russia is getting its ass kicked in terms of oil revenues as the US is exporting every drop it can pump or refine! Same goes for LNG.
  8. American farmers are getting squeezed so hard that many will fail and their leveraged properties be captured by the mega farming corporations.
  9. At this point it looks like Trump is nothing but a bad “B Movie” actor in a WWF show put on by Fox News and media lords of war.
  10. In this reality show the spoils of Irans oil assets are being captured and the Iranian people are being marginalized or eliminated.
  11. Gennoacide is real and ongoing and there is not a damn thing anyone can do to stop it.
  12. Musks robot police force is about to be unleashed as the field of battle and warfare change for the human species.
  13. Will we survive?

Conclusion: Iran and its proxies are gonna be toast given the fact that the digital communications available to them pinpoint their locations to the sq ft. This allows them to be targeted and eliminated with increasing efficiency. You will not see the carnage on TV.

PS. These are observations, not endorsements. Alternative viewpoints are appreciated.

– Trump Rejects Iran Ceasefire Proposal, Says More Bombing After Election. > Trump is finally getting smarter. Stop having them tell you what they will do, but never do, but I digress, and have them show you by doing so. I didn’t think he had it in him, but maybe his VP set him straight. It’s nice to see him stop being played. Trump has stated from the very beginning, that “Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon” that’s all this is about. Stop the stonewalling, and follow through with what I Asked For, and not some other ideas on your own, or from the past.get this done, and be done with it. Work out other details later, and work together for solutions that will work for both sides, and maybe this can be over quickly.

– President Trump has told aides he expects to resume bombing Iran after the November midterms, U.S. officials said. > Definitely JD has his ear finally!! Simply setting the stage for a reaction to Iran’s inaction, if they do so again. This time Trump will actually follow through. I think the message is heard and will be heeded this time. The goals here is quickly, so let’s make it happen, or force it to happen, but Trumps Goal will be met, and this is the last chance for Iran to do so, or seal there own fate. There call!

– Why the Iran Peace Offer? > Buy themselves more time, for more weapons, and more possible pain to be inflicted on the US Presidency, in hopes that the Dems take over and give them everything they have been asking for. Easy to see.

Not saying I want war, and never have or do, but this is a way to avoid such, if they wish to. If there is nothing to see, then why not? This would / should provide closure on the topic.

If Baby Trump wants to gut fueld economy standards I have ZERO – ACTUALLY LESS THAN ZERO – sympathy for his whinning about gas and diesel prices. He’s f’g the future and challenging refining capacity sooner or later. Screwing us all sooner or later for this STUPID IGNORANCE.

“Trump Set to Roll Back Biden-Era Auto Fuel Economy Standards
President Donald Trump has long criticized the Biden-era rules, which were part of a set of policies to spur production and purchases of electric vehicles.”

In the midst of record prices he TOTALLY IGNORES the S&D balance. The ignorant fool.

If US wins, Iran

  • Give up nuclear program
  • Will lose Iranian frozen asset
  • Won’t get compensation
  • Lose Hormuz Strait control
  • Under continuation of various sanction
  • Will continue intermittent war on Iran
  • Continue war on its allies,Hizbollah, Houthi, Hamas

This is existential threat to Iran.

If Iran wins

  • Iran will get some relief from mentioned above.

So Iran has no choice but continue till the end.

Sorry, I’m wrong. This is not official message of china. I’m remembering a quote by Victor Gao who is not a representative China, and China has a difference stance then him, of neutrality.

“He(Victor Gao) said any Israeli nuclear strike on any country would make Israel humanity’s top enemy and would mean “the demise of Israel as a state, as a regime, as a country.” A former adviser to Greek PM Andreas Papandreou then wrote it up under a headline framing it as Beijing’s message to Tel Aviv and Washington, with “Israel will cease to exist” in the title. ”

Gao is not a government official.

China declared itself neutral, emphasized mediation, and committed no troops. Its nuclear doctrine also cuts against the claim: China pledges never to be the first to use nuclear weapons under any circumstances, a policy it says has held for over 60 years, and it frames its arsenal as a self-defense deterrent against nuclear use on China itself. Beijing has never offered Iran a nuclear guarantee, so a genuine threat to nuke Israel on Iran’s behalf would be a historic doctrinal break, the kind of thing that would come from Xi or the foreign ministry and dominate headlines worldwide.

I am sorry for spreading misinformation. Thank you for asking me for a source.

This would be a poorly written B film if it were a fiction, but for real life the obvious stupidity is just staggering. We’ve watched this bunch shoot themselves in the foot long after they’ve run out of bullets and then start pistol whipping themselves. Other commenters here have asked… “how could anyone be so comically stupid”

Indeed! How?! And even now they don’t seem too awfully worried at all?! Something is very wrong with that. Either they really are that stupid or they have something up their sleeves. Not sure.

You are wrong. For a couple of thousands of years this was not an issue at all as almost no Abraham’s people lived in this area, since the first century till the beginning of twentieth. It was known as Palestine, home to Muslim majority and Christian minorities. Only then waves of aliyah immigrants started to populate these lands claiming it was theirs because of the biblical references. Only then the problems started, initiated by violent aggression of militant groups (Lehi, Ingur, Hagara) against the native people. This “argument” is about one hundred years old,,, still, way too long.

Is there any agreement Trump/USA could make that would in some definitive way satisfy Netanyahu’s regime? Which is to say, is it sort of like him — open-ended in demands and desires? Is there some amount of real estate acquisition or balance-of-terror they would stop at?

(I guess the USA has had the luxury of weak adjoining powers and oceans, to at least claim to “stop at.” I think Trump’s supposed promise was a sort of stopping, to stay out of endless foreign wars. Oh well. that didn’t last long.)

Then he shouldn’t have signed it.

His word in his personal life, his business life and now his political life is, was and were worthless, yet he has been elected twice through the electoral process that is an 18th Century anachronism that by now should’ve been amended if we are to be considered a democracy for elected legislative and the presidency at the national level. Then he is barely re-elected against a Democratic candidate that when she ran for the nomination in 2020 dropped out of the process before garnering a single delegate. She was summarily crowned by the kleptocratic Democratic Party leadership without winning one primary. Then in 2020 Trump loses to a longtime lier, buffoon, neoliberal that his first bite at the apple to win the nomination plagiarized his stump speech forcing him to drop out in the ‘88 campaign.

The so-called republic has been in trouble since congress abdicated its declaration of war constitutional duty to the presidency. Besides Watergate, Nixon should’ve been impeached for his Cambodian and Laos secret wars.

Come on. Trump’s hubris (or perhaps Natanyahoo’s blackmail) has led him into a blind alley, a no win situation. He has no clue, but makes believe he has a plan. He procrastinates and hopes the news cycle moves on. Remember his great healthcare plan that was going to be unveiled in a few weeks, or the Epstein file disclosure legislation that he signed.

Iran continues to have escalation dominance. If Trumps attacks, they have the ability to destroy most Middle east oil infrastructure and rupture the global economy. They may also have developed, or purchased the missile technology to target aircraft carriers.

Trump is a desperate, deeply ignorant, and mentally unbalanced man at this point. His arrogance makes him incapable of admitting defeat. He is completely unpredictable. Unless the 25th amendment is invoked, anything can happen.

I recall a big tough guy telling me (at high volume, in my face) just that, in 2003, about Bush and the Iraq war. I knew far, far, far more than he, or apparently Bush, did. I knew there were no MWDs. (I doubt that you, Denis, know what that refers to, so look it up.) That tough guy was a rare one: he admitted to me in ’08 he had been wrong. Back then, most of the “trust the all-seeing boss” people just quietly slunk away like the lazy-minded cowards they were. Then having tossed away our country;’s blood and treasure, and partly as a result, lost their own asses, they were back as angry Trump voters in 2016. (Not that I like or trust Hillary, especially on foreign affairs.) But here we are. No Hillary or Joe to blame, beyond a point. But you know, give the Dems time. Post hoc ergo propter hoc … Trump will own the Oct 2026 global equity market crash.

The 3rd quarter in 1929 was estimated to be the peak US economic activity before the crash. Current estimates for 3rd Q US GDP growth are strong ranging from 3-5% driven by consumer spending and AI/chip/data center growth. The top 20% of US earners are responsible for 60% of US consumer spending. The bottom 80% are constrained and are riveted on and stressed by sharply increasing and much too high, fuel and food cost, a weekly recurrent and revisited in-your-face issue. (With its 30% equity drop, McDonalds, the canary in the coal mine, knows the lower tier’s stress.) Expect that top tier consumer spending to be somewhat curtailed after October.

Team D will bitch about how they could run the wars so much better if they were in charge, but say nothing about the war itself.

See: 2006. Team D swept both houses of Congress on opposition to the War On Iraq, and proceeded to do nothing.

2004 and 2008 also come to mind, except Team D dropped any pretended antiwar sentiment like a hot turd, once those war became St. Obama’s wars.

Team R by the way never had a plan to win the war they started. The defeat of America is consistently baked into the cake by them.

re: “Iran’s terms were everyhing on the MOU and more”. I have not seen the exact terms of the latest proposal, as I don’t think they’ve been published. However, everything I’ve heard suggests that Iran is not asking for anything materially different from the MOU, other than timing/sequencing. They are no longer willing to trust upfront that the U.S. will honor commitments (as MOU terms were immediately violated). As a result, the U.S. would be required to fulfill all commitments BEFORE the SOH is opened. Also, the latest offer suggested the possibility of an accelerated timeline (one week instead of 30 or 60 days), yet requires clear fulfillment of commitments.

TBH, Trump probably increased the likelihood that Iran takes the initiative and strikes U.S. forces, GCC collaborators and Israel hard before the mid-terms. Trump and Netanyahu clearly signal they are going to continue the war, and Iran has threatened pre-emptive strikes if they detect build-up for further military action. Pepe Escobar is also reporting that Iran’s proposal came with a Sept 30 deadline (I don’t see this reported by MSM). If Trump rejects the proposal (as it looks he has), once that deadline is reached Iran has a free hand to re-engage, expand the war and with new weapons. They now say they can strike vessels even in the Indian Ocean, and I do not doubt this.

The sequencing is everything. Handing over frozen assets and lifting sanctions on Iranian oil sales come first. Even though back in June he said, “it’s their money”, Trump will never allow the frozen assets to be released because they’re way more than the amount Obama released. He railed against Obama for that. Releasing more Iranian assets than Obama would make him a loser (the way Trump sees it).

The Iranians might be able to strike the US Navy in several places, they could also attack our basically undefended mainland infrastructure. However I think the thing that keeps us relatively safe is the fact that Iran knows that causing huge losses like 5,000 sailors on an aircraft carrier would ignite the common people of the US against them. They’ve already seen the war crimes carried out without public approval and can surely imagine the crimes against their population if trump had the approval of the US public. If trump tries to annihilate the Iranian population as threatened they would lose the incentive for restraint and attack full bore. Attempted annihilation may also bring in additional direct support from other countries including China.

What kind of POTUS gives the adversary six weeks lead time.

One who wants to devote 6 weeks to the election.

Also that’s 6 weeks for the US to build more stuff too and our budget and manufacturing is much larger than theirs is. The US will be building lots of drones of it’s own now that its clear the future is drone warfare and this gives 6 more weeks of production.

I wouldn’t count on it. Iran is certainly more capable of building more (and newer) ballistic missiles and drones than the U.S. is capable of replacing interceptors and precision weapons (w/ multi-year lead times and rare earth shortages, thanks to Chinese export controls). Even if U.S. didn’t have the supply chain issues, it wouldn’t make a difference as we’re not building anything up to the task. Iran has hardened underground facilities which can even withstand nuclear strikes. What we can strike are soft civilian targets and infrastructure/gas facilities, but Iran has promised to take out Gulf infrastructure once that happens.

But as I commented previously, I don’t think Trump has 6 weeks. Iran gave a deadline and is primed to take the initiative.

The military isn’t ordering those kinds of drones. We have bombs and missiles for taking out hardened targets as we’ve demonstrated already.

The drones being build (hundreds of thousands on order, you can google it, its easy to find if you care to look) are for taking out other drones since its clear it’s too costly to use Patriots. A totally logical response.

Probably the same geniuses behind the $469 million factory in Mesquite TX opened in 2024 to produce 155 mm artillery shells for the Ukraine – and hasn’t produced a single one yet.

US Military. They’ve ordered hundreds of thousands of them. It’s an easy google search to see the military is starting to build them.

Why would that be any kind of surprise given we spend 1 trillion a year?

If this is how he wants to “devote” his time, praise be. More he does, more losers get the boot

Point taken, but it doesn’t matter. Iran certainly has intelligence gathering on the ground, as well as access to Chinese satellite surveillance. They will be aware of any major military preparations.
