Trump Says the Iran War Will End “When I Feel It in My Bones”

Please recall Trump started this war on a “feeling” and poor advice.

Statement on Timing

We now have a highly accurate estimate of when the war will end.

Question of the Day

Q: That’s accurate?
A: Of course it is. And it’s believable too.

We went from a few days to a few weeks, then a month, then a declaration that the war was already over pretty much, then the was was over, and now we have the highly believable estimate the war will end when Trump feels it in his bones.

What more could anyone possibly ask than rare truthful statements from Trump?

What About the Strait?

Good question. Jim Bianco has this accurate assessment of statements by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

Hegseth: U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth states that the Strait of Hormuz is “open for transit” and the only thing preventing that is continued drone and missile attacks by Iran.

Bianco: The only reason I do not allow my children to play in the middle of the highway is the cars speeding at 70 MPH. Otherwise, the highway is open as a playground.

Gotta admit Hegseth is going with the tried and true methods here.

And this was the result: Three Oil Tankers on Fire Following Trump’s Advice, Crude Jumps Again

Hey, I thought the war was over.

Hmmmmmmmm – Open for transit ? ? ?
Iranian said the Strait is closed.
And you said its open.

You’re making simple things complicated.

When the war in Iran will end ??

There is a perfect analogue for the string of utterances so far.

It is the time series for pronouncements about ending the Ukraine war.

Hard to say.

When the pain becomes too great for the US to stand anymore.

Or

When the pain becomes too great for the global economy to stand anymore.

I find it interesting that Trump and Hegseth keep saying that Iran’s new leader is injured, and now use the term ‘disfigured’, like it was an extremely important thing. I wonder if the US and Israel are trying to goad him into putting out a video that they could use to learn more about his current condition, location, and vulnerability?!

He was injured when the US attacked Iran’s leadership in the first wave of attacks. His father (the former leader) was killed in that attack. So was his wife and son. Guess how open he is to negotiate with Trump after his family members were killed while Iran was still in the middle of negotiations with the US last time?

The conflict reshaping the Middle East is now reshaping the Formula 1 calendar, and the sport is almost out of time to pretend otherwise.

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were supposed to host back-to-back grands prix in April — Sakhir on the 10th, Jeddah a week later on the 17th. Neither race is happening. Sky Sports reported Friday that an official cancellation is expected in Shanghai before the weekend, with no replacement events planned. The 2026 season drops from 24 races to 22, and April goes completely dark for the first time since 2020.

If Kharg island’s oil infrastructure is destroyed, oil prices would go to $150+ and the global economy would collapse this year.

Which is why it is unlikely that the US would do that. It was risky to attack military installations on the island for fear of damaging the oil infrastructure by mistake.

A more likely scenario would be the Iranian regime destroying the infrastructure themselves because the regime is about to collapse. The logic is that if we are about to collapse, we might as well take the rest of the world with us.

Trump has made a huge mistake. He has put himself into a position where he loses no matter what happens.

It’s called scorched earth strategy. Destroy key infrastructure before it falls into enemy hands and can be used for their benefit. Quite common throughout history.

Surprised you aren’t aware of it.

The US is hitting every military target that it can in order to degrade Iran’s ability to fight; and in particular IRAN’s ability to strike out at shipping or other countries oil infrastructure.

They waited to hit Kharg island because they wanted to be careful and make sure they didn’t accidentally hit oil infrastructure there.

Approaching two weeks of shut down in the strait now. Assuming a miracle doesn’t happen over the weekend, the global economy is going to start suffering some severe disruptions next week.

As expected, the longer this goes on, the more damage to the global economy.

Based on the fact the US is still sending more military equipment and marines to the area, seems to indicate that we are not yet near the end of this situation.

I am still selling portions of my oil stocks each time they hit new all-time highs. And putting the cash aside as I wait for the big market corrections that are likely coming.

Epic Fury Is Worth the Cost

by Elaine McCusker, Richard Sims

March 11, 2026

Following an unsatisfactory round of meetings and negotiations with Tehran earlier this year, the United States launched kinetic strikes against Iran on February 28, 2026. Operation Epic Fury is now in its second week and, while the operational successes are clear, attention has understandably turned to cost as one element of evaluating progress and value to American interests and objectives.

We estimate the incremental cost of Operation Epic Fury, including positioning maritime and aviation assets in the Middle East starting at the end of December, is between $11.2 billion and $14.5 billion.

The assumptions used to generate the estimate rely on publicly available information from Department of War (DoW) and United States Central Command (CENTCOM) briefings and fact sheets on the ships deployed, aircraft flying, defenses employed, and targets reported. We then used official sources of cost data for operation and sustainment and procurement of replacement interceptors, missiles, munitions, and lost aircraft. Finally, we applied informed judgements regarding distances, specific platforms engaged on missions, and the likely mix of munitions and interceptors expended.

The estimate’s high/low range largely depends on the percentage split between the United States and regional partners in intercepting Iranian attacks and the shot doctrine used to put munitions on target.

All due respect, MPO45v2, but he gets called out on it all the time. The press does it, he says, “Quiet piggy” or tears into them as the worst reporter of all time.

Jimmy Kimmel does it and Trump tries to drive his show off the air.

The Democrats constantly point his stuff out and get shouted down as “libs” or whatever insult du jour is.

His press guy, Stephen Cheung, copies and pates a standard insult about how the person has brain rot and a brain the size of a peanut.

He’s been doing this for years, now, it’s just that he’s destroyed all the guardrails that used to constrain executive power.

I think we can conclude that our Commander and Chief is unfit for office. It’s not a partisan observation. I want our Presidents to be successful be they Democratic or Republican. I want our country to be successful. I want complicated and controversial issues to be debated vigorously by Congress. This is a scary time for our country. It also seems to be coinciding with weak Congressional leadership. We are in a bad place and a very dangerous place.

Time for a “Potemkin Oval”: “They (Trump Sr’s kids) set up what was described as a “Potemkin office,” where Fred was made to believe he was still running the company. This included a desk filled with blank papers and a phone that connected only to a secretary who was complicit in this plan.

Details of the Arrangement

  • Office Setup: Fred Trump continued to report to his office as usual, dressed in his business attire, but the reality was starkly different. The paperwork he shuffled was meaningless, and he had no genuine responsibilities.
  • Phone System: The phone in his office was disconnected from any outside lines, ensuring that he couldn’t communicate with anyone beyond the secretary waiting outside.

This tactic was a way for the family to provide care while avoiding the need to confront him about his illness directly. Fred Trump’s Alzheimer’s often left him confused, and the family’s strategy sought to protect him from further distress.

Calling all Trump voters! How is having Donald Trump as President and Commander-in-Chief different from having any random “know-it-all” at the bar in that role? He brings no relevant experience to the most important and consequential job in the world, and he is not intellectually curious because he believes he inherently knows better than those with decades of subject-matter experience.

If you owned a business you built into a successful enterprise, would you blindly hand over all decision-making to someone like Donald Trump? If your child needed a mentor and role model, would you give someone like Donald Trump unrestricted one-on-one access to your child one day a week?
