Trump Takes to Facebook to Blast 60 Minutes, Will It Help?

Facebook Video

Lesley, you discredited yourself,” said Trump repeatedly to 60 Minutes interviewer Lesley Stahl.

After Trump walked out Stahl tells Vice President Mike Pence: “I feel that you both have insulted ‘60 Minutes’ and me by not answering any of our questions.”

In the interview, Mr. Trump tells Ms. Stahl that he wants the Supreme Court to abolish the Affordable Care Act, saying: “I hope that they end it; it’ll be so good if they end it.”

Will that combative interview help Trump?

I fail to see how the interview swings undecided female voters, those over 65, or those whose main concern is Covid.

Besides, there are very few undecided voters remaining.

Even if it helps Trump slightly, slight help is not enough. Trump needs a near miracle.

More likely, it hurts Trump slightly even though is supporters will likely cheer this as a win.

Question of the Day

I needed a 5th possible response. Twitter only allows 4.

Surging Media Bias has blown away the notion the free press will be fair and this year it seems the players that shape our opinions are doubling down. The blatant bias coverage we are seeing is enough to force the question, is the so-called “free press” working for us or under the directive of greater forces seeking to control events?

The article below argues both propaganda and censorship are a growing problem here in America.

My dentist said “I don’t think we can afford MedicareForAll.” I replied “So you’re telling me you can’t afford to spend 60% of what we’re spending now and get better quality also? When buy a car do tell the dealer: “I can’t afford that car. But if double it’s price, I can. Do you demand at the grocery store that they double your the price on everything you buy, because you can’t afford to pay it at the listed price of 50% less?”

I wonder if it CAN help Mish.

Of the 117,094 active eligible voters in this Florida county already in just the first four days of early voting the county has already recieved 45,553 votes. 39% turnout in 4 days with the election still 11 days 3 hours and 45 minutes away.

It is looking like this may be one of the heaviest turnouts not just here but everywhere. And turn out does NOT favor republicans.

Been lines wrapped around the polling places since in person absentee voting began here in SC. Part of it is social distancing, part is the delay in pollworkers accessing the online voter roll during check in, the rest is an unprecedented turnout.

Herkie

Yes, looking like historic turnout here also in Florida. I am starting to think they will get more votes than they have eligible voters, and when that happens i am hoping that anyone who vote two or mor times at the command of Jabba the Trump goes to prison for a while, a slap on the wrist fine and local jail time is not sufficient. Personally I would like to see a fitting punishment for voting fraud, the loss of the right to vote for a minimum of 20 years.

I’m not sure this helps Biden, but it definitely doesn’t help Trump.

Much like the constant MSM attacks on Trump lost effectiveness long ago, Trump’s tantrums and antics are also ineffective. Anybody who is happy Trump walked out on Leslie Stahl was already firmly in his camp anyway.

The constant histrionics will never be appealing to most people, and that works both ways. Contrary to what online blue/red trolls say, most people just want to live their lives. Ironically Trump was supposed to break this cycle of politics-as-usual but instead turned it into the most over the top drama ever televised. His supporters claim Trump didn’t court this, but they’re wrong. He clearly revels in this WWE-style dreck while the country circles the drain.

If you’re receiving a large subsidy, then Obamacare is great. But those earning $50k+ are getting totally hosed. Let’s say an insurance company recieves $300/month for each Obamacare policy and four people sign up. The first three people are low income and pay $100 each per month which means that the fourth person (earnign $50k+ annually) has to pay $900 per month to make up for the subsidies. That’s Obamacare!

Myself and several friends, all self-employed, lived this nightmare until the individual mandate was repealed. Ending the individual mandate put Obamacare into a death spiral even if it isn’t repealled. You can buy superior, less expensive coverage on the open market and a seperate law could be passed to address prexisting conditions.

I”m open to better ways of doing it. But its universally agreed we need to protect pre-existing conditions. For those at the bottom of society or who have lost employment perhaps due to health concerns we need a mechanism. I just priced out health insurance curious as to what plans cost. A good one is 10k a year or more. That 50,000 per year worker can’t afford that.

No, what you mean is that you could have gotten CHEAPER premiums for some policy or other on the open market.

Or…you were suddenly forced to buy healthcare that wasn’t in your budget…because you were swimming naked before.

I’m self-employed, and I’ve paid for private health insurance for a family of six for over 30 years….but when my adult grad student kids fell off my insurance, they were ONLY able to get insurance because of ACA.

I believe there were 20 new taxes added for the Obamacare law. One of them was a tax on the heath insurance industry itself and another was a tax on medical devices. Those taxes are passed to health consumers with non-government insurance twofold. But the big reason policy price jumped is the switch community rating. Everybody says we have to have it but now the prices are too high and nobody has a solution.

He’s the fluffiest of snowflakes.

Not the slightest grasp of any of the nuances of issues.

People expect weaving and dodging of uncomfortable issues from politicians. But no reponse on his plans for a next term? No plan for replacement of Obamacare?

Come-on, there are kids running for 6th grade class president that could filibuster rationally and fill 3/4 of an hour of back-and-forth.

He’s literally got nothing.

Cognitive decline indeed.

TRUMP: Of course it can be verified. Excuse me, they found the laptop.

STAHL: It can’t be verified.

TRUMP: What can’t be verified?

STAHL: The laptop.

TRUMP: Why do you say that?

STAHL: Because it can’t be verified.

Bevan Cooney and Tony Bobulinski are keys to verifying the laptop. Bobulinski verified one of the Emails referenced by the New York Post. He is turning over a trove of material to a Senate committee. “Bobulinski claims cash and equity positions and 10% stakes in dealings were set aside for “the big guy,” – aka Joe Biden.”

Bevan Cooney has 26,000 Emails, a number of which are correspondence with Hunter.

such a coincidence that they held this until 2 weeks before the election. Enough time to slime, but not enough time to debunk. Didn’t give it to the Senate committee. The FBI sat on it or they didn’t know about this Bobulinski guy. Such a coincidence. Such a remarkable coincidence!

FBI sat on it since December 2019 and did NOT do their DAMN jobs.

Giuliani got the hard drive copy about a month ago since the Mac Repair dude waited from December 2019 for FBI to DO SOMETHING and only gave the copy once FBI failed, utterly FAILED to do anything.

Anybody responsible for FBI doing anything since December 2019 should be FIRED including clearly incompetent Wray.

FBI sat on it because they did NOT know the Mac repair dude had made a copy of the laptop harddrive.

Without that copy and it being given to Giuliani and another copy being made for NY Post by Giuliani and them starting to publish FBI would have stayed silent and Biden would have gotten special treatment and USA would have ended with a CORRUPT president who China could have blackmailed every day to do China’s bidding.

Stahl made herself seem totally IGNORANT.
DNI Ratcliffe, DOJ and FBI have CONFIRMED the laptop and Hunter Biden’s emails are NOT a Russian disinfo operation and it has been confirmed FBI has that laptop.

FBI credibility took a major hit because they have just been sitting on it since December 2019 despite it showing clear CORRUPTION that would have gotten anybody whose name is NOT Biden arrested.

Democrats should be mad at FBI too because if FBI had done their jobs then Hunter Biden and Joe Biden would have been arrested in January 2020 and Democrats would now have a candidate with less baggage and more mental capacity than Joe Biden.

Just because the echo chamber really, really, really, really, really needs a scandal to distract from the past 4 years of Executive Branch scandal after scandal after scandal after scandal just like this, does not mean this is true. It is an obvious political hit job that a lot of people really really really want to be significant but it is not.

The first, Bevan Cooney, is currently in prison for fraud. The emails he has provided so far — to journalists Matthew Tyrmand and Peter Schweizer — do not actually show him having direct contact with Hunter (Cooney seemed mainly to interact with Hunter’s then-business partner, Devon Archer, who was also convicted of fraud). So Cooney’s emails have gotten less attention.

Yet there is an alleged email provided by Tony Bobulinski about the deal with the Chinese energy tycoon, sent by Hunter business associate James Gilliar to Bobulinski and Hunter in May 2017, that suggests a split of equity for their new business venture. In addition for “20 H” (20 percent for Hunter) and “10 Jim” (10 percent for James Biden), it includes the line: “10 held by H for the big guy ?”

The email excerpt reads, “At the moment there is a provisional agreement that the equity will be distributed as follows: 20 H, 20 RW, 20 JG, 20 TB, 10 Jim, 10 held by H for the big guy?”
Excerpt of a purported May 2017 email sent among Hunter Biden’s business associates. Daily Caller

Bobulinski claims “the big guy” means Joe Biden. But that line notably ends in a question mark. And if accurate, it is unclear whether Joe Biden himself (by then the former vice president) actually knew about it — or whether Hunter was throwing around his name without his knowledge. Furthermore, there is also a message six days after this one where Hunter says that his “Chairman” gave him “an emphatic NO.” (Fox News claims the “chairman” is Joe Biden, which if true would seem to suggest he turned down Hunter’s offer.)

Actual investigative reporters would put in the time to ascertain, to the best of their ability, what actually happened here. But this is much more akin to an opposition research dump — so it’s just been put out there by conservative journalists with little context or supplementary information, to help Trump make it part of his final campaign push.

Trump specifically stated that it would be REPLACED with a better system.

Only about 10 million people use Obamacare so those 55% are making that statement without themselves knowing what Obamacare is like.

Media still uses the 20 million number that was just Obama’s ESTIMATE of the number of users and in reality there are about 10 million users.

I watched Trump’s video dump and posted it in the user area. Stahl was fair. Trump came with a chip on his shoulder. It’s clear he lives in a solipsism fed by yes men and sycophants. Stahl was having none of it. She was polite but asked Trump questions he didn’t want asked. And after 45 minutes he storms off. Ironically by releasing it today he’s given Biden debate ammunition. Trump said he wants to end Obamacare and admitted he has no replacement
