Ten Ways President Trump Is a Threat to the United States

Trump says “America is under attack”. Truer words have never been spoken.

Trump Attacks Socialists as He Speaks at Mount Rushmore

The Wall Street Journal reports Trump Attacks Socialists as He Speaks at Mount Rushmore

“You can be a communist, or you can be a patriot, you cannot be both,” Trump said in front of the monument in the Black Hills of South Dakota that has long caught Trump’s attention.

The president said the American identity is under a renewed attack. “There is now a resurgence of the Communist menace in our land—including from newcomers to our country who embrace ideas totally opposed to our way of life,” he said.

“For those who would peddle Marxist lies about our heritage—who tell our children that we live on stolen land, or that our heroes were oppressors—they are doing something much worse than slandering our past. They are attacking our future,” Trump said. The Supreme Court ruled in 1980 that the land on the Black Hills mountain range was illegally taken.

Trump has mused about adding his face to the monument, though he did not bring it up in his Friday speech.

On the way to South Dakota, guests on Air Force One were served cookies that featured an image of Air Force One flying past the monument with Trump’s face included, according to an Instagram post from the president’s new daughter-in-law, Bettina Trump. Reporters traveling with the president received cookies that didn’t have Trump’s face.

Kristi Noem, the former South Dakota governor and Trump’s former Homeland Security secretary, once gave him a 4-foot-tall replica of the memorial, with his face joining the four presidents.

“Sounds like a good idea to me!” Trump said about the prospect in his first term on social media.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, who traveled with Trump to the South Dakota monument, has discussed Trump’s inclusion on it. He told Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump on her Fox News show last year that there was room for the president. Asked recently in an interview with The Wall Street Journal about Trump supporters’ call for the 47th president’s face to be carved into the monument, Burgum didn’t rule it out.

In Trump’s second term, he has sought to put his name and imprint on many things, from commemorative U.S. passports to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Palm Beach International Airport will officially become Donald J. Trump International Airport this month.

In the tax bill passed by Congress last year, savings accounts for children in the U.S. were named Trump Accounts. Trump’s image hangs on banners at many federal buildings in Washington, D.C., a departure from past administrations.

Trump Is an Insult to the U.S.

Trump’s self glorification is an insult to the United States of America. He acts like he is the king that he wants to be.

No one in the Republican party is willing to stand up to him other than rep. Thomas Massie. And that’s an insult to the U.S. in and of itself.

But the problems go beyond insults, to actual threats to the United States and the constitution.

Communism? Really? Where?

Communists are not a threat to the USA.

Trump’s attempts to undermine the free press, label political opponents as treasonous, and pressure the justice system to prosecute rivals are frequently compared by political scientists to the tactics of totalitarian and communist regimes designed to crush dissent.

And Trump has demanded government equity stakes in private companies.

Some have likened that those to communism. But’s that’s not accurate. Rather, they are not good steps, but it’s not that same as China’s practices where the state/party exerts near-total control over strategic enterprises.

Debt Is a Threat

  • Trump: Added roughly $7.8 trillion during his first term (2017–2021). Major contributors included the 2017 TCJA tax cuts (reduced revenue), rising pre-COVID deficits, and massive COVID-era spending packages (CARES Act and related measures, which were bipartisan but signed by him). In his current second term, deficits remain elevated amid continued spending, new tariffs, and industrial policy initiatives.
  • Obama: Added ~$8–9 trillion (Great Recession response, stimulus, ACA implementation, and wars).
  • Biden: Added trillions more (American Rescue Plan, Inflation Reduction Act spending/subsidies, and other packages).
  • Congress: Both parties routinely pass large spending bills. Entitlements (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid) are politically untouchable and form the biggest long-term driver.

No recent president has made serious progress on fiscal restraint—deficits and debt growth are a bipartisan failure rooted in political incentives. Trump is a meaningful part of the recent increases, especially via tax cuts and emergency spending, but the structural problems (aging population + mandatory spending) predate and outlast any single administration.

Attacks on the Fed

With unprecedented actions, Trump has attacked the Fed twice. Trump tried to fire Fed Chair Jerome Powell and Fed Governor Lisa Cook.

These were efforts to pack the Fed with Trump loyalists who would do what Trump wants.

The courts ruled against Trump both times.

Massive Graft

Please consider Trump is looting our country. He just gave us (more) proof.

This week, a new web of conflicts of interest was revealed, in an official report the President filed with the Office of Government Ethics. It’s a catalog of thousands of individual stock trades made by the President earlier this year. Skim it and you’ll find it hard to avoid the conclusion that, to Donald Trump, governing is synonymous with profiteering.

To save you some effort, I’m breaking down the highlights here, along with some legal background and suggested action items and reforms.

Similarly, the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board comments The Trump Family and ‘Honest Graft’

They are profiting off the Presidency in ways that demean the office.

Americans tell pollsters they don’t think they are getting ahead financially. But President Trump and his family are having no trouble, judging from his 2025 financial disclosure report released Tuesday. The Trump clan is cashing in on the Presidency in big and sketchy ways.

The 927-page report shows Mr. Trump made some $1.4 billion last year from crypto alone. Yowzers. This includes $635 million in royalties from the memecoin that Mr. Trump launched days before his inauguration. Trump Organization business affiliates make money from what are akin to transaction fees when the memecoin is traded.

Another $593 million came from token and equity sales by World Liberty Financial, whose co-founders include the President, his sons and special envoy Steve Witkoff. Mr. Witkoff’s son, Zach, is its CEO. A business entity affiliated with Mr. Trump and his family members owns a major chunk of World Liberty.

We have detailed some of World Liberty’s dubious deals with foreign actors that may have been trying to buy influence with the Administration.

War in Iran

Presidents have always meddled. But eventually the president has made a case before Congress to support major military efforts.

Trump did not do so. He even lost a symbolic vote in the Senate on the War Powers Resolution Act.

Trump went against the advice of top military leaders, egged on by Israel, and lost one of the stupidest wars in history. He is now seeking a way out of the mess he created.

Now Trump seeks to replenish missiles. Trump requests a huge military budget increase that is tied up in congress over the SAVE Act.

The ultimate final cost of this unilateral action is unknown.

Breaking Treaties, Threats to Do So, No Respect for Allies

Trump unilaterally broke the USMCA treaty with Canada.

He repeatedly threatened to take Greenland by force.

Trump has no respect for treaties, even those he signed. And he has no respect for allies while demanding complete loyalty to his requests.

As a direct result, Canada and other allies forged closer ties to China.

The SAVE Act

The SAVE Act has stalled in the Senate, fortunately. It is a purposeful effort to disenfranchise women and minority voters who overwhelmingly vote Democratic.

Trump and Republicans portray the SAVE Act as being about Voter ID. It’s a deliberate lie.

If the SAVE Act was about nothing but Voter ID, I would be for it.

For discussion, please see Three Reasons the Save Act Is Unconstitutional

The SAVE Act won’t pass, and that’s a good thing.

Attempt to Steal the Election in 2020

Trump repeatedly and consistently has denied that he lost the election in 2020.

Every claim has been thoroughly debunked multiple times.

Weaponizing the Department of Justice

There is no question the Trump Administration has weaponized the DOJ.

One can claim prior administrations and state attorney generals did that to Trump. Fair enough, but two wrongs don’t make a right.

Trump has recklessly pursued cases the courts threw out and will lose those cases on appeal.

He has shattered long-standing institutional norms by using federal law enforcement to target political adversaries, most notably former FBI Director James Comey.

Alongside Comey, the DOJ has launched investigations or secured indictments against other prominent critics, including New York Attorney General Letitia James, former National Security Advisor John Bolton, and Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.

Trump’s Military Purge Threat

Trump has prioritized loyalty in senior military appointments and publicly criticized parts of the military leadership, which breaks with traditional civil-military norms.

Elevating loyalty tests risks politicizing promotions and eroding competence, readiness, and public trust. Prioritizing loyalty over qualifications in the military is a genuine threat to institutional integrity and should be criticized.

The setup is severe enough that former top military leaders have spoken out on the risk.

Presidential Pardons for Sale

The scope and magnitude of Trump’s second-term pardons are unprecedented. The fact that a president issues more pardons than his predecessors is not necessarily problematic. The real problem lies in the great number of particular second-term pardons that appear indefensible. Such pardons fall into five categories.

For discussion please see the CATO article President Trump’s Pardons: An Embarrassment of Riches

The Independent reports White House weighs ‘250 pardons for 250 years’ in new wave of clemency to mark America’s birthday

The president has already drawn scrutiny for his acts of clemency, a power granted to him by the Constitution. Since returning to office, he’s issued a historic wave of pardons for white-collar criminals and political allies, including nearly 1,600 January 6 defendants.

“It is general knowledge in our practice that for $2 million, you can have a pardon,” one attorney told the outlet. “The clients come to us and tell us, ‘I’ve been told I need to go hire this specific person, and [then] I will get a pardon.’”

In December 2025, President Trump granted a full and complete pardon to former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández. Hernández was serving a 45-year prison sentence in the United States after a federal jury convicted him in 2024 of running Honduras as a violent “narco-state” and assisting in the massive trafficking of narcotics.

The move drew swift, bipartisan criticism from lawmakers, including Senate resolutions condemning the release of a convicted narcotics kingpin.

Other Drug-Related Clemency Actions

In addition to the Hernández case, Trump has commuted the sentences and pardoned other prominent figures connected to major narcotics operations:

  • Larry Hoover: The leader of the Chicago-based Gangster Disciples, who was serving multiple life sentences in federal prison for drug and gang-related crimes, received clemency.
  • Ross Ulbricht: The creator of the Silk Road online marketplace, convicted of drug distribution conspiracy and computer hacking, had his sentence commuted.
  • Alice Marie Johnson: Convicted for her role in a Memphis cocaine trafficking ring, she was freed during Trump’s first term and later appointed to serve as his “pardon czar”

We have a drug lord pardon czar. Lovely.

Epstein

Trump ran on a platform of releasing the Epstein files. Under pressure, Trump even signed a bill mandating Epstein disclosure.

However, millions of documents the law mandates Trump to release, have not been released.

Trump has illegally refused to honor a bill he signed. There is no disclosure and won’t be as long as Republicans hold the House and his political cronies man the DOJ.

Trump is protecting pedophile to protect himself. Released documents have redacted Trump’s name.

Sexual Convictions

Trump was found civilly liable for sexual abuse and defamation against writer E. Jean Carroll.

A judge clarified that the jury’s finding satisfied the common definition of rape.

Weaponizing the Post Office and Election Executive Order Threats

Trump’s aggressive use of executive power over the Post Office and elections erodes trust.

It’s part of Trump’s broader pattern of illegal and even unconstitutional executive orders. His attempt to create a national database of registered voters is nothing short of an effort to steal the election.

The courts have repeatedly ruled that the President lacks constitutional authority to unilaterally dictate election procedures — those powers belong primarily to states and Congress.

Trump knows what he is doing lacks Constitutional authority. Biden did similar things on student loans. But student loan shenanigans and clear attempts to steal the election are two different things.

Trump is correct. “America is under attack.” But it’s not by communists, it’s by Trump.

Pick your top ten from this list.

Communism Is No Threat, Trump Is

  1. Radical and Unprecedented Presidential Self-Idolization
  2. Debt
  3. Attacks on the Fed
  4. Epstein
  5. Sexual Convictions
  6. Massive Graft
  7. War in Iran
  8. Military Purge
  9. SAVE Act
  10. Pardons for Sale
  11. Attempt to Steal 2020 Election
  12. Breaking Treaties, Threats to Do So, No Respect for Allies
  13. Weaponizing the Post Office
  14. Weaponizing the Department of Justice
  15. Election Executive Order Threats

There is no risk of communists taking over the United States.

One could whitewash any one of the things Trump has done, perhaps even several of them.

However, it’s impossible to dismiss them all. President Trump is a proven threat to the United States of America.

But hey, every president has been a threat regarding debt and deficit. Trump is guilty of only fourteen more things.

MAGA Summation

TDS Not

This post will undoubtedly bring out charges of TDS, entirely by people who have it themselves, type II TDS, Trump can do no wrong.

I’m Accused of Never Supporting Trump. Let’s Have a Fact Check – In support of Trump – Mish Praise for Trump

The Facts of the Matter

I am a free market Libertarian and care about ideas, integrity, and doing things legally.

Unlike Trump, I believe in the Constitution and a legal process.

Trump faults the “activist court.” But if Trump was not such an extreme activist with blatantly absurd positions, the court would not be so activist.

In the above link I count about forty posts supporting Trump. There are undoubtedly another forty if not a hundred that I did not find at first glance.

Recently, two people accused me of being a RINO. What a hoot. I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat and frequently take it from both sides.

I am a free market Libertarian who care about ideas, integrity, and doing things legally. That generally means I don’t like any of them.

My anti-war stance has a perfect track record dating to the Vietnam war.

Unlike partisan hacks, I take each case on it’s own merits.

Unfortunately, Trump has been uniquely disgusting as noted above and the related posts below.

January 4, 2021: Trump Sues Georgia Sec of State Over Leaked Phone Call

President Trump in a Saturday telephone call urged Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to overturn the November election results that delivered the state to President-elect Joe Biden.

“I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state,” he told Mr. Raffensperger on the call, adding later, “It’s not a problem that is going away.” Mr. Biden won the state by 11,779 votes out of about 5 million cast.

MR. MEADOWS: What I’m hopeful for is, is there some way that we can – we can find some kind of an agreement to look at this a little bit more fully?

MR. RAFFENSPERGER: Well, I’ve listened to what the president has just said. President Trump, we’ve had several lawsuits, and we’ve had to respond in court to the lawsuits and the contentions. We don’t agree that you have won and we don’t – I didn’t agree about the 200,000 number that you mentioned. But I could go through that point by point. …. we did a hand re-tally, a 100 percent re-tally of all the ballots and compared that to what the machine said, and it came up with virtually the same result. Then we did the recount and we got virtually the same result.

MR. RAFFENSPERGER: Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is the data you have is wrong. We talked to the congressmen and they were surprised, but they – I guess there was a person named Mr. Braynard that came to these meetings and presented data. And he said that there was dead people – I believe it was upward of 5,000. The actual number were two – two. Two people that were dead that voted. And so that’s wrong. That was two.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: And what about – what about the – what about the ballots, the shredding of the ballots? Have they been shredding ballots?

MR. RAFFENSPERGER: No.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: – all I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state, and flipping the state is a great testament to our country because, you know, there’s just – it’s a testament that they can admit to a mistake – or whatever you want to call it – if it was a mistake. I don’t know. …. In my opinion it’s never too late. In my opinion it’s never too late. So – oh, a little double – a little double sound there. … So that’s the story, fellows. Look, we need only 11,000 votes. We have far more than that as it stands now. We’ll have more and more, and – do you have provisional ballots at all, Brad? Provisional ballots?

MR. RAFFENSPERGER: Provisional ballots are allowed, you know, by state law.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: – you guys are so wrong and you’ve treated this – you’ve treated the population of Georgia so badly, between you and your governor, who wouldn’t – who was down at 21 – he was down 21 points and, like a schmuck, I endorsed him and he got elected. But I will tell you, he’s a disaster and he’ll never – I can’t imagine. The people are so angry in Georgia I can’t imagine he’s ever getting elected again, I’ll tell you that much right now. But why wouldn’t you want to find the right answer, Brad, instead of keep saying that the numbers are right? Because those numbers are so wrong and –

MR. RAFFENSPERGER: Mr. President, please –

Trump is seriously out of control and more so every day.

President Trump has repeatedly brought up the idea of the U.S. taking control of Greenland from Denmark, and told the Atlantic this weekend that “We do need Greenland, absolutely.” On Saturday, Katie Miller—a former Trump adviser who is married to White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller—posted a map of Greenland with the American flag over it and the caption: “SOON.”

Speaking the obvious, the Danish Prime Minister says U.S. Has ‘No Right’ to Greenland.

Let’s discuss Trump’s claims and the solid evidence on fraudulent voting.

January 18, 2026: We Are Now Bearing the Poisoned Fruit of Trump’s Self-Proclaimed Morality

Trump says his own morality is the only check on his power.

  1. “I have the right to do anything I want to do. I’m the president of the United States.” Trump said these words in August to defend his decision to send National Guard troops to Chicago under the pretext of fighting crime.
  2. Cancelled the USMCA treaty that he personally negotiated with Mexico and Canada.
  3. Invaded Venezuela to capture its president
  4. Said the US will “run” the country and profit from its vast oil reserves.
  5. Threatens to take Greenland, a NATO country, by military force
  6. Weaponized the Justice Department. He fired seasoned federal prosecutors and replaced them with allies, and he ordered his attorney general, Pam Bondi, to investigate and prosecute government figures who he claims wronged him.
  7. Ordered air strikes on 7 nations
  8. Announced Reciprocal Tariffs using a preposterous formula that has nothing to do with another nation’s tariffs
  9. Signed into law a bill that requires release of Epstein documents but refuses to do so
  10. Declared everything an emergency. Well not literally everything but close. Hollywood movies are an emergency. See list below.
  11. Used troops as political tools. Trump has long viewed the US military as his personal fighting force. He was furious during his first term when Pentagon brass refused to support deploying US armed forces to counter Black Lives Matter protesters. But he’s seen his preferences fulfilled in his second term. He has sent National Guard troops to patrol Democratic-led cities
  12. Plastered his name and face everywhere. When the newly formed US Treasury wanted to put President George Washington’s face on currency, as the British did with their king, Washington refused: America’s leaders were ordinary citizens who served the people, not monarchs who ruled over them. Trump has rebranded the capital with his name and likeness and remade its spaces to suit his gilded tastes. See list below.
  13. Mixed politics and profit. Past US presidents strained to avoid any appearance of using the White House’s power to make money for themselves. Not Trump. Since returning to office, he’s intermingled government and private business interests as his companies pursue lucrative deals at home and overseas.
  14. Meme Coins: He has financial interests in multiple cryptocurrency ventures, including a Trump memecoin and the USD1 stablecoin. Trump and his three sons are among the founders of the company that issued the stablecoin, World Liberty Financial.
  15. Seeks to restrict Birthright Citizenship by decree. This is guaranteed to be shot down by the Supreme Court.
  16. The administration has openly adopted Nazi slogans
  17. ICE is deporting US citizens, arresting native American citizens, exporting illegal aliens to countries guaranteed to torture them
  18. ICE is going door-to-door even busting doors down in violation of the Constitution

July 3, 2026: Former Top General Blasts Trump for Politicizing the Military

Charles Q. Brown, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, speaks out on Trump.

What’s happening now is both clear and ominous.

Hegseth is removing top military generals on one basis only – loyalty to Trump.

When Trump loses Congress in the Midterm elections, and he will, Trump wants military officers who will carry out any and all illegal orders.

Q: Such as?
A: Seizing ballots

That is the threat. And the course is being plotted.

That’s not a prediction, but the groundwork is being laid as I type.

I could go on. It’s endless.

But this sentence sums it all up. “I have the right to do anything I want to do. I’m the president of the United States.

Trump believes he is a king or dictator and acts that way to stay in power.

So far, the Courts have stopped Trump’s most serious threats.

But if we stay on this course, and Trump tries to overturn posted midterm results, we are headed for a Constitutional crisis.

To repeat, Trump is correct. “America is under attack.” But it’s not by communists, it’s by Trump.

Oh, one more thing, Happy 250th Birthday.

enjoy the remaining liberty and personal freedom that you have. in the future, the liberty is mostly the domain reserved for the public sector and its partners.

Prayer, protest or civil war , hell or high water won’t reverse or stop it.

This is the relentless vision of leftist global / central planning and of the progessive agenda.

So sit back and marvel at it, get on its side or get run over.

good luck, choose wisely.

The MishTalk article makes sweeping claims, but when you look closely, the arguments fall apart. It focuses on tone instead of results, emotion instead of outcomes. A serious evaluation of the President’s record shows a leader who confronts problems directly, strengthens national security, and pushes for economic fairness in ways previous administrations avoided.
The article frames decisive action as instability, but that’s backwards. Markets and foreign adversaries respond to clarity and strength — not hesitation. The President’s approach has been clear, consistent, and focused on protecting American interests. That’s leadership, whether people like his style or not.
The author also ignores the consequences of inaction. Letting problems fester is far more dangerous than confronting them. Border issues, geopolitical threats, and economic imbalances didn’t appear overnight — they were neglected for years. The President didn’t create these challenges; he’s the one actually addressing them.
When you strip away the emotional language, the article doesn’t present evidence of a “threat.” It presents disagreement with a governing style. That’s not analysis — that’s opinion. A balanced assessment would acknowledge both strengths and weaknesses. This article doesn’t, and that’s why its conclusions don’t hold up.
In short, the article’s argument collapses under scrutiny. The President’s record shows action, clarity, and a willingness to tackle issues others ignored. That’s not a threat — that’s leadership.

These are very weak examples, and do not bolster any argument.

The only mode of “thought” Trump knows is counting dollars.
He’s an ignorant sad thuggish loser with a severe personality disorder.

But the saddest is not Trump the con man.
It’s that the American people put up with all of this.

If you think Trump is so bad, that tells you something about what else was on offer.

Democracy as we know it doesn’t work any more. The priests, the people who live by deception, fool us too much. It wouldn’t do any good my going into detail, because you all believe at least some of their nonsense. The Jews in particular study the weaknesses of the people they live amongst, and take advantage of them. The universities devote vast resources to studying human weaknesses and how to take advantage of them, as in advertising for example. “Rhetoric” was an earlier, less advanced version of the same thing. (It was something the ruling classes studied in earlier times.)

People need to know that government is always and everywhere a coalition between groups of priests, who live by deception, and groups of soldiers (or bravos), who live by force. This does not mean that all governments are equally bad, but they are all composed of people who live by bad behavior. (The secret police and the judiciary are perhaps the worst, but the journalists live by fooling adults, and the teachers live by fooling and corrupting the young, so they are not nice people either. This of course only applies to government-approved journalists and teachers. These professions could be honorable if they were free-lance.)

I can’t point the way out. But civilization will not advance until most ordinary people do understand what government is. That definitely doesn’t mean that we need socialism. Some people use the expression “anarcho-capitalism” for what is needed, but that doesn’t give you a road-map either.

I agree, I would have voted for Trump because I considered the chance of nuclear conflagration as less with him. The CIA was assessing the chances at 50% in Nov 2024 and Admiral Buchanan of the US Strategic Command was telling us that the US was ready to conduct and “win” a nuclear war.

But Americans have been putting up with this “who do I hate least” contest for a long time. I lost all faith in any chance of organic reform with Ross Perot and the Bush/Gore election — no electoral or constitutional reform, not even a tiny miniscule detail. The current political system has been reified as sacrosanct.

But it would be easy enough to change for Americans, without violent civil strife. Just decide collectively not to vote for either existing party, nor anybody who has held office, nor anybody whose main plank is not getting the money and corruption out of the political process. All that is required is an act of political will instead of cowering before the “authority’s” claims about what you should fear.

In the always glorified Athenian democracy, people were elected on the basis of chance (a random chance selection machine [Google kleroterion κληρωτήριον]). They thought the last people you want to entrust political power to is those who seek it.

For the big spenders in the Executive branch and Congress that have brought us to a $39.3 trillion dollar National Debt, here’s a pertinent comment from Scottish historian and author, Alexander Fraser Tytler (1747-1813): “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”

You get 1-Mishelin star for best comment in the thread. Excellent reference to people knowing the problem as far back as 1800s. And we see that now with the largest leeches consuming more and more tax dollars -the medicare and social security leeches. And yes these “poor” fools will continuously beg for more and ask for caps to be raised (which negates their entire “I paid for it” nonsense) and handouts to increase.

There are two reasons for me to be hopeful.

  1. The leeches are dying off just not fast enough.
  2. Millennials and Gen Z now outnumber the leeches, sadly they are asking for more socialism but I expect it to switch from handouts to geezers to handouts to the young as it should be.

Interesting though, it isn’t people voting themselves more from the public treasury, it is people voting to not contribute to the public treasury.

Thank you Mish for taking the time to put this together on our nation’s 250th anniversary. It should be read by the entire country. Hopefully it will be saved on some servers in Europe so future historians will understand that some people lamented the loss of our great country and had the strength of character to say something about it. I promise to visit you in prison come December.

Trump is a totalitarian, no doubt. He is following a well-worn playbook, popularized by Italian fascists at the turn of the 20th century:

  1. Belief that truly great men are rare and only come about rarely. Trump is such a man.
  2. The country is in peril and must give the great man whatever power is necessary to fix it.
  3. The nation has been taken over by evil people, who have disinherited the true great people (white, protestant and jewish males).
  4. The evil people have ruined the country and the great man is here to return it to its storied past.
  5. The great man will crush the evil people (Mexicans, Muslims, Socialists, the MSM) at every turn.
  6. The military is the shining example of the best of the nation, and the military must fully support the vision of the great man, not the traditional institutions (the deep state).

Lots of Americans (and Germans and Italians in the 20th century) have naturally fascist tendencies. People ask how the Germans could support Hitler. It’s easy, talk to your neighbors who support Trump. The Germans don’t support it anymore because they know where it ends. You would think we would be smart enough to learn from them. But we aren’t.

My father in law is a Cuban who fled the country with his wife and children in 1967. He can go on at length about the evils of Communism and Castro. In 1952, Fulgencio Batista used his position as head of the Cuban military to overthrow the government. Batista was running for President, but polls showed he would lose and lose badly, so he ended the consitution and democracy. But the population despised the extreme corruption Batista brought to Cuba. Castro used that sentiment to eventually overthrow his regime.

My father in law watches Fox all day long and of course believes the Democrats are all Communists. He once told me that Obama had built thousands of amazing high-rise apartments in Washington, D.C. and gave them out for free to “the blacks”. He is obviously a huuuuge Trump fan.

I once asked him what was more important: ending socialism or democracy. He said ending socialism by any means necessary. I pointed out that a strong democracy could always end socialism. He gave me a blank stare.

Okay, you’ve got me worried now. I have only your word for it about Trump’s business affairs, but if you aren’t misleading us, that is a real problem as I see it.

On the other matters, I wonder whether Trump is showing a bit of a sense of humor in naming things after himself and putting his face on things. Maybe he is trying to rile people like you. At least he didn’t try to rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of Trump.”

On socialism or Communism, I’m on Trump’s side. Communism is a terrible thing. You have even less protection from corrupt authority under Communism than you have under your present system of decadence. Socialism may sometimes be a little milder and gentler, at least at first. The Germans have had worker representatives on the boards of their companies, and the Scandinavians have had shocking degrees of taxation for generations, and they are still going, but it may be that they have such an intense work ethic that it has, so far, overcome the bad effects of socialism. I gather that Napoleon thought that paper money would ruin Britain, because he knew about the terrible effects it had had in France. It did in fact ruin Britain eventually, but it was about 150 years too late to help Napoleon. The dreadful effects of socialism may be still to come in Germany and Scandinavia.

Debt is certainly a threat, but Trump can hardly be blamed. It’s a bit like telling a smoker to stop smoking after he has lung cancer. I hope Trump will take good advice (or Vance will take good advice if he succeeds Trump), and do something to ameliorate the disaster that must inevitably follow such an inflationary binge. The Mises Institute suggests that the government repudiate its debt, and that sounds like the best way out to me. In a bankruptcy, the creditors are not entirely innocent, and as there is no way for the debtor (the government) to trade out of its insolvency, the creditors will have to take a loss.

The Fed was set up to fund the government’s deficit. That is the purpose of a central bank. It may be that Volcker and Greenspan ran it less recklessly than it had been run before. But I don’t think there is much point in arguing about the “independence” of an institution whose purpose includes fraud against the public.

Finally, it looks to me as if Trump is running this war in the Persian Gulf well, and has won a victory for America and Israel. I’m not sure that it is a good idea to go on insulting and oppressing the Moslems, but as long as you have Jews largely in charge of your government and media (we have exactly the same setup here in Australia), I suppose it’s better to win your wars than to lose them.

– Communism is a terrible thing. You have even less protection from corrupt authority under Communism than you have under your present system of decadence. > Correct!

– Socialism may sometimes be a little milder and gentler, at least at first. > Socialism IS Communism, so that might explain it. They needed a better sounding, more inclusive, ring to it. It worked for awhile, but not nearly long enough for what they were looking for.
– The dreadful effects of socialism may be still to come in Germany and Scandinavia. > They never left. It’s a backroom word, but has plenty of meaning still. Look around the World and seek something common. Did you find it? “Power & Control” are the sought after things by many throughout the World today. This includes America as well. From within of course, since our inception, but a lot more vocal now. The seeds of Dissent have been planted. They don’t have a very good reputation and a horrible success rate, but can wreak havoc nonetheless. Reviewing history tells us don’t let it creep in, or it will pull everything down with it. It has in every single instance it’s been tried. Yet here we are fighting it off once again, thank goodness!!!

– Debt is certainly a threat, but Trump can hardly be blamed. > He is just the Token Fall Guy for everything wrong before him, and it will be once again, after him. They must beat down the opposition.

– Vance will take good advice if he succeeds Trump. > I see no reason why he won’t. He has been groomed for it since he arrived. He is smart, pays attention, looks for support from all sides, and try’s hard to meet in the middle well, from what I have witnessed so far from Him.

– But I don’t think there is much point in arguing about the “independence” of an institution whose purpose includes fraud against the public. > Agreed!

– Finally, it looks to me as if Trump is running this war in the Persian Gulf well, and has won a victory for America and Israel. > Not so sure a winner is visible as of yet, but it appears to be moving in a more positive direction. We have a ways to go, before things settle down still. I am not so sure there will be a winner however. In fact, this may well end sometime soon, and then start right back up again, shortly after that. That’s been the role call so far, as “rinse : repeat” seems to be the theme so far…

– I’m not sure that it is a good idea to go on insulting and oppressing the Moslems. > No it’s not, and I’ll add anyone else too. Oppression can only yield chaos and perhaps war, as in this instance. When you oppress it begins a battle immediately. That can end quickly, or go on forever it may seem, like right now. It depends how much they want to truly end it, and in what shape that would leave it in. That’s the battle they are truly fighting right now. Apparently no successful answers just yet, just more chaos so far…

While I will admit, that I lean towards a more positive outlook on life, there is a very good reason for that.
I have been given a second chance, and don’t want to waste it! I see what’s important to me, my Family, Grandchildren etc. I have been very successful in my life, but the options available to me, and you I would imagine, are not so available now. They also come at a greater cost.
My belief is that a Capitalist System, is the best for me and my Family. Nothing comes remotely close. You have to work hard to have it work for you, which is the point. The more in the boat with you, makes overall success that much easier, faster, and more rewarding.
I have used this system my entire life, and been successful at nobody’s expense. My time, energy, patience, and a good plan in place utilizing what’s available is all it took me.

To be fair, there were a whole lot of resources in your country, as there were in Australia, that hadn’t been exploited by the local hunter-gatherers. I think there is a lesson in that: we need, as living and more-or-less intelligent creatures, to go on finding new horizons, or we shall settle down, turn inwards, and deteriorate. That’s what apparently happened to the Moslems in Spain. It seems to have happened to the English. But I entirely agree with what you say about capitalism, except that I think maybe we should call it free enterprise. Capitalism isn’t an “-ism.” It’s just the way things are, if you understand economics.

And I don’t mean that smart-alecs should try to think up ways to “make capitalism work better,” as public servants and universities delight in doing. These people are criminals and rent-seekers. Free people need to be left alone. The ones who have the power and ability should insist on being left alone. Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged” is an allegory of that.

Happy Birthday USA!!!! WE ARE CELEBRATING THE BEST OF OUR COUNTRY – FREE SPEECH.

The real problem with this endless diatribe is the assumption that Trump is not special.

Trump is the President of the United States and is only responsible to the Senate through the House of Representatives. He is the King for 4 years just like Joe Biden was. The unsaid truth is the system was designed in this manner to hold him blameless.

He could, if he chooses, ignore any court’s ruling, including the Supreme Court, with only repercussions from Congress.

The founders well knew that every state and jurisdiction if they did not agree with the president would bring them up on charges and nothing would get done. I think we have enough evidence of this potential behavior when he was running for president.
This same article could be easily written about Joe Biden or Kamala Harris or Gavin Newson. Joe Biden could have released the Epstein files. Hunter Biden is not beyond reproach and is a convicted felon. The unprosecuted crimes of the Biden administration are numerous and could be legionnaire depending on who gets to write history.

On our 250th birthday, we should recognize that our representative democratic system is the best system devised, but not perfect. We have pure democracy on one end, our system, and every other system.

We should reflect that pure democracy brings out the mob and evil; reflect on the French revolution. Any other system has been shown to trample on our God given rights, and the USA has the best at preserving them.

Trump is the best president we have but he is not Jesus Christ but it seems Mish would like to crucify him.

– 10 ways Mush is a Threat to the United States. > That’s ridiculous!

– One sided opinions. > All opinions have a side, that’s why they are called opinions.
– Liberal opinions. > That’s one type, you’re catching on. There are Conservative too, and so many more.
– Unscholarly opinions. > In debate, unless clear rules are in place, there is no label to opinions, as they are just that, Opinions.
– Lazy opinions. > You obviously have not followed Mish through the years and years of exhausting work and information, in regards to his opinions (facts included). It’s hard to debate Mish at times, because of his hard work up front. He is less opinion, and more fact based I think at times.
– False alarm opinions. > A false alarm is only deemed after the alarm has played out. The opinion ties directly into that. So the EX. “Sun will rise tomorrow” An alarm, An Opinion, A Fact, A studied Fact, and a predominant way of thinking in the World.
– Unfair opinions. > Your stretching, but see above.
– Inaccurate opinions. > Only deemed after the opinion. May never be? Do you have specifics by chance, or is this an opinion?
– Exaggerated opinions. > A little bit of that in many, many opinions. That’s why it’s an opinion and not fact as of yet.
– Skewed opinions. > How? Not word for word from the evidence? We have lots of skewed opinions, and that’s what opinions are, a version of one’s opinion and it’s not going to match up with all others, therefore it’s skewed from the start.
– Unsubstantiated opinions. You don’t know Mish very well at all. He would not still be around, if that were the case. At times perhaps on a given topic with little substantive information could be an EX. I agree with.

Happening very soon, Israel integrates wirh US m8litary:

Have you even HEARD of “The United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative”??

I suggest everyone drop what they are looking at and look at this – because it assigns a PERMANENT ISRAELI “executive agent” within the DOD to coordinate…well, all manner of development and networking of information.

I’ll let you guys do most of your own research and reading and puzzling through the thinking. But keep in mind how every other loss of liberty and back-stab in the US government has gone done in the last 250 years…or keep naive and be a pawn.

Look for it also under “Section 224” (now section 219) of the House version. Look for it in the Senate equivalent “FUTURES Act” (note the plural).

Almost nobody has come out in public to oppose it. In the House only Massie (R) and Ro Khanna (D) are listed as publicly fighting it. They put forward a resolution for a floor debate which was just quashed by “House leadership”.

In the Senate, “NO Senators have made high-profile public statements or led amendments specifically opposing Section 219/1217 (Senate version) in available records”. (per Brave AI).

So in the House and Senate COMBINED ONLY TWO of your elected officials have said anything in oppostion…across BOTH parties! So: Again, House 2+Senate 0=2 opposed.

Meanwhile there is a veritable, verifiable near Tidal Wave of “bi-partisan VOCAL/PUBLIC support for for subjugating the United States military to “Israel”:

House 51 members (39 Republicans, 12 Democrats)
Senate 21 members (15 Republicans, 6 Democrats)
That Grand Totals to 72 IN FAVOR OF SUBJUGATING US MILITARY TO ISRAEL vs only 2 opposed.

Mish, at this point you have a far better understanding of the problems and solutions America needs than either party has. Even though I disagree with some things such as immigration for all who are not criminals in their own country, they are still worth trying because there are reasonable offsets such as eliminating welfare. You also have enough knowledge to assess the effectiveness of programs to fail fast and stop further wasteful spending. You have a great deal of blogging / online experience.

It’s time for people to get more involved. Referendums are a good start. A 100 years ago referendums were used to check the power of the wealthy monopolies controlling politicians. Just like today.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initiatives_and_referendums_in_the_United_States
But signatures are needed and that takes time and effort. You gotta get up off your duff, make some noise, and get some signatures. And you may have to start from the beginning. As many have said, including MLK, you have the right to protest for rights. You may have to change how referendums are conducted in your state but it can be done. In the article cited above Boulder, CO has gone to an online petition system to make it easier. But don’t expect politicians to help you. I read an article that insinuated that a Constitutional Convention risks losing the rights you already have. Don’t take the bait. It was probably written by someone from the uniparty.

The presidency is not decided by the popular vote. Does it seem odd that multiple voting machines simultaneously went on the fritz in Maricopa county?

“Maricopa County’s election equipment and software passed all tests performed by two independent firms hired to conduct the forensic audit, according to reports by two federally certified Voting System Testing Laboratories.” In other words, it never happened, and yet, somehow you still think it did.

Communism is a threat to TRUMP, capitalist.
Communism represent working class.
Capitalism represent billionaire rich.
Its not strange capitalist demonise communism.
Previous communist system didn’t work because they don’t understand market economy, human greed, etc.
Chinese communist lift the very poor living standard of 800 million to middle class.
ie. 800 million. More than double the US population.
Meanwhile US rich are richer and richer and richest at all time.
Human greed has no limit.
How many times are they going to eat a day?
How many houses are they going to live?
How many wives are they going to have?

Capitalism, Communism, Socialism and Fascism come from the same source. The International Banksters. Free Enterprise was America’s economic engine at one time, not capitalism. Capitalism is private monopoly and communism is government monopoly. both controlled opposition.

“But if we stay on this course, and Trump tries to overturn posted midterm results, we are headed for a Constitutional crisis.”

It won’t be a constitutional crisis, it will be the end of the USA as we all know it and that’s why I’m packing my bags and leaving (for now). If the republic survives and when most of the boomer filth that elected this buffoon dies off, I might come back.

Until then, I’ll be taking a case of Kirkland popcorn overseas to watch the show.

Do worry, Trump, Walrus and the GOP will find a way to make things even worse.™

The Republic is already over with.

We can quibble about what the point of no return was, but this stopped being a Constitutional Republic a long time ago.

The income tax, the central bank, the popular election of US senators, forever wars, the welfare-warfare state, the national debt that will never be paid back, Social Security is officially six years away from running out of money, the fiat currency whose value is going to zero, the permanent inflationary regime that steals 2% or more of purchasing power of the dollar every year, etc.

The people of this country have failed to keep the Republic that was established in 1787.

It’s all over but the crying.

And I’m leaving this month. But it takes years to do the planning right when you have a complex estate to handle. Taxes are killer in almost every country around the world.

As part of my planning, I’ve watched hundreds of YouTube videos of expats leaving and I am now seeing more and more just like this one.

There’s nothing sold at Costco worth missing, even when Costco spread out abroad.

Great post.

Don’t count America out. In spite of the worst efforts of trump and Maga voters, there is still great potential here.

There is great potential IF, we could remove the yoke of unfettered capitalism and have a government for the people instead of a government for the corporations.

Well Mish, I think it says a lot when a libertarian capitalist, a socialist, and a moderate can all agree we have a problem. Under normal circumstances, I don’t think we’d see eye to eye on much outside of economics. But today on July 4th we stand here discussing the collective ramifications of just how malicious this executive has become.

I always thought I’d have an easy bright future. Never in my dreams did I expect to grow up to this. I can only hope we all grow stronger, kinder, and more united for it.

Worst President ever.

Happy 4th everyone!

Look after your family and friends, because the government won’t; especially this government.

1. I do agree with the pardon of Ross Ulbeicht. Just based on principle, he committed no crimes, and when you factor in the misbehavior of the federal agents involved, he never should have been convicted.

2. E. Jean Carroll is a whack-a-doodle funded by a kiddie-diddling billionaire and her case should have been thrown out.

Other than that, yeah, he’s about the worst ever.
