November 2, 2016: Assessing Trump’s Chances With Six Days Remaining
Without a doubt, the decision by FBI director James Comey to announce the discovery of new emails related to the Hillary Clinton has seriously damaged Hillary’s election chances.
This may hand Trump the victory.
November 26, 2016: Dear Hillary Supporters, Trump Won Fair and Square, Get Over It
If democrats want to blame someone, they should look in the mirror.
December 9, 2016: Hillary Backer, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, Heads Obama’s Witch Hunt on Russia
“I’m going after Russia in every way you can go after Russia,” Mr Graham said. “I want [Russian president Vladimir] Putin personally to pay a price.” [What a hoot that has turned out to be. I forgot about that one.]
January 29, 2017: Liberals, Not Trump, to Blame for Backlash
Congratulations are in order. Liberals, with the full and complete backing of mainstream media “won” the refugee debate.
They price for winning the debate was losing the election.
February 17, 2017: Newsweek Fake News: “The Russian Plot, How Putin and Trump Colluded”
The Newsweek article is laughably ridiculous and links to even more fake Newsweek news from the same author, Ryan Goodman (along with Kate Brannen) who ask in bold: Which Trump Aides were involved in the Russian Plot?
May 11, 2017: Trump Fired Comey: So What? Wasn’t Comey Incompetent?
Democrats allege the firing is proof that Trump is hiding something. So here we go again with absurd allegations and innuendo that Trump conspired with Russia to steal the election from Hillary.
June 2, 2017: Global Warming Hysteria Over Trump: When has Mass Hysteria Ever Been Right?
For the record, I am in favor of reduced pollutants, especially from coal, for health reasons, not global warming. The focus on CO2 is a joke.
In case you disagree, I leave you with one final question: When has such mass hysteria ever been right?
July 7, 2017: Rachel Maddow Accuses Trump of Planting Fake Documents Implicating Trump
Apparently, there is no chance that Democrats or someone acting to discredit Trump are throwing mud hoping to start multiple simultaneous investigations that just might uncover something.
Maddow attempts to appear to be open-minded by tossing out caveats like “we don’t know if Trump is involved.”
Let me be equally open minded. We don’t know if Maddow or someone at MSNBC sent fake documents to MSNBC to get this alleged scoop.
November 19, 2017: Who’s Worse for the Environment: Merkel or Trump?
Alone on Diesel
There is only one country left promoting diesel: Germany.
Not only is Germany far behind on gasoline engines, it is far behind when it comes to electric engine capacity.
And recall where German electricity is from: coal.
Nonetheless, Merkel has the gall to criticize Trump over the environment while the EU imports US coal.
September 19, 2018: Kavanaugh vs the Santa Clause Theory (And Why He Cannot Get a Fair Hearing)
People are willing to assume “He Did It”, despite the fact there are virtually No Details.
Not only is there no other allegation against Kavanaugh, the assault charge runs against everything we know about his personal and professional life, as attested by everyone who has known him. His exemplary reputation, earned over the course of decades and a matter of public record, should outweigh a charge that is unproven and, as far we know, unprovable.
September 23, 2018: Kavanaugh Witch Trial on Thursday, Curious Case of Ms. Keyser vs Ford
Every day the credibility of Ms. Ford realistically takes another hit. Nonetheless, the believers, will not back down, to the point of absurdity. [Kavanaugh is a Supreme Court Justice appointed by Trump. I defended Kavanaugh]
March 22, 2019: Trump Witch Hunt Over: No American Was Even Charged With Conspiring With Russia
The Mueller investigation is complete and this is a simple fact that will never go away: not one single American was charged, indicted or convicted for conspiring with Russia to influence the 2016 election – not even a low-level volunteer. The number is zero.
March 24, 2019: Mueller Report Synopsis: “No Evidence of Collusion Between Trump and Russia”
Witch Hunt Will Continue [Gosh was that prophetic]
What started out as an investigation about Russia collusion has morphed into anything and everything but a Russia collusion investigation.
As long as we are examining all the evidence of wrongdoing, how about further investigation of Hillary Clinton?
April 18, 2019: Mueller Investigation Ends With Total Vindication of Trump, But Democrats Will Press On: Wikileaks Saves Trump?
The Mueller report finds no evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign coordinated with Russian. This ought to be the end of it, but it probably won’t.

September 24, 2019: Impeach Trump Stampede Won’t do Democrats Any Good
Stampede of Donkeys
I fail to see how this can do the Democrats any good.
At best this will become a slight distraction. At worst Trump will run rings around the Democrats via social media campaigns.
Nonetheless, the donkey stampede has finally reached critical mass. Every Democrat including the house Speaker is now sucked in

There is no congressional power to expose for the sake of exposure.
December 7, 2019: Toilet Wars: Trump Asks EPA to Review the Flush
In 2016, California set the maximum flush to 1.28 gallons. Activists want further reductions. Trump has had enough of it.
Amusingly, this issue came up Thursday evening in our household when a toilet clogged.
There is no way you can convince me that these damn 1.28 gallon tanks flush as well. And now, you can find 1.1 and even 0.96 gallon per flush models which no doubt California will adopt.
More clogs coming up, especially in California.
December 15, 2019: Christmas Impeachment Stocking: There’s Nothing In It

August 24, 2023: Question of the Day: Is Trump or Biden the Bigger Trade War Fool?
The question of the day is a tough one. Biden and Trump are in a serious leap frog match over trade wars.

October 4, 2023: Make Trump Speaker of the House, Let’s See What He Can Do

December 19, 2023: Trump Disqualified From 2024 Colorado Ballot, Supreme Court Challenge Coming
Trump is accused of crimes, but the Colorado Court is acting like the prosecutor and the jury. The Colorado Court deserves a strong rebuke from the US Supreme Court.
April 14, 2024: Trump Trial in New Yok Begins This Week, Expect a Media Circus
A Recording Crime
District Attorney Alvin Bragg took each receipt, invoice, and ledger receipt and made a separate felony charge out of each of them.
Then Bragg twisted those charges into an intent to commit other crimes. Yet Trump is not charged with other crimes, only falsifying records. And it’s plausible that Trump had no direct knowledge of the mess.
The Journal notes that Falsifying business records is a misdemeanor under New York state law, but it can be elevated to a felony if records were falsified to conceal or commit another crime.
What other crime? Trump is charged with none.

Trump was found guilty of a crime, but can anyone say what it is? Prosecutorial misconduct is dripping. It’s the judge, not Trump who belongs in prison.
November 17, 2024: Trump Pushes for Peace in Ukraine as Biden Accelerates War Effort
Trump is likely to deliver a quick end to the war, as promised. Europe gets the message, Biden doesn’t. And Lindsey Graham now looks like a fool. [It appears I had too much faith in Trump. Fancy that]

It’s not impossible. Importantly, neither Denmark nor the EU is in control of the situation. [Buying Greenland is a great idea. Unfortunately ,the execution was as bad as possible, including threats of taking Greenland by force. There is no chance now, but the MAGA cheering continues anyway.]

The Facts of the Matter
I am a free market Libertarian and care about ideas, integrity, and doing things legally.
Unlike Trump, I believe in the Constitution and a legal process.
Trump faults the “activist court.” But if Trump was not such an extreme activist with blatantly absurd positions, the court would not be so activist.
Regardless, the proper way to address “activism” and there indeed has been some, is the appeals process.
The cult calls to replace activists judges is no better than progresses nutcases wanting to pack the courts. It is beyond the mental capacity of the cult to see they are no better than the Progressive,
I support DOGE, not the absurd way it has transpired, nor the blatant lies and silly comments about pledging to save trillions of dollars, when all we have so far is $150 billion and most of that is lies.
X is a cesspool of Trump cultists who defend every obviously idiotic thing Trump says.
BFreeOrDie accused me of never saying anything good about Trump. What a hoot.
And regarding the US, we have the most free markets in the world with the best talent.
The reason Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon are US companies is because the EU nannycrats would have destroyed them in the name of greater competition before they ever got big enough to matter.
I have repeatedly made such statements, mocking the death of the dollar doom mongers.
I am frequently accused of TDS despite supporting Trump on many occasions.
One of my own readers accused me of never admitting I am wrong, never changing my mind, and never supporting Trump.
I have admitted errors on recession calls and my policy is to admit errors before someone admits them for you.
Many cases are now before the Supreme Court and we will see who is right or wrong.
As for changing my mind, it’s best not to be like Trump where it can change every hour.
I don’t change my mind easily but it does happen. For example, 5 years ago I was 100 always against subsidies, tariffs, and sanctions, 100 percent free market.
My position now is to grant exceptions for cases of genuine national security. Microchips and rare earth elements are good examples. Steel, underwear, shoes, and solar panels aren’t.
So that’s a change.
Biden and Trump both deserve praise for their part in bringing Taiwan Semiconductor to the US.
The way forward on rare earth elements is to forge alliances with Canada and Greenland. Trump poisoned both and the clueless cult cheered.
I am anti-war, small government, and a deficit hawk. Trump proposes a $1 trillion defense budget with no way to pay for it. The cult cheers.
Trump is going to massively increase the budget deficit, and add more complexity to the tax code.
I am proud of my vote. I wrote in Mish for President.
Please keep reading the best part of this rant is at the end.

Let’s do some fact checks on DOGE claims and reality.

Trump’s idiotic definition of the words “reciprocal tariffs” have nothing to do with tariffs at all. The cult doesn’t care.
Lutnick Says Tariffs Can Eliminate the IRS and Balance the Budget
Commerce Secretary Lutnick says the US will balance the budget with tariffs and eliminate the IRS.
Tariffs brought in about $30 billion for the full year in 2024.
To balance the budget and eliminate personal income taxes, Trump would need to collect $7 trillion in tariffs on a net trade deficit of $918 billion.
I would love to hear a detailed explanation of exactly how that works.
Ask the cultists how that works and you get silence.
Trumps Claims
- Tariffs will increase revenue enough to balance the budget
- Tariffs will bring manufacturing back to the US
- Tariffs will reduce inflation
- Tariffs will increase exports
Conflicting Economic Madness
Points 1 and 2 conflict. Tariffs cannot simultaneously bring back manufacturing and raise enough revenue to balance the budget.
Points 2 and 3 conflict. Since the US is one of the world’s highest cost producer of goods thanks to unions, tariffs will not reduce inflation.
Points 2 and 4 conflict. Since the US is one of the world’s highest cost producer of goods, and other countries will retaliate, tariffs will not increase exports.
But this is Trumperland with Trump as the Red Queen giving me a lecture on believing impossible things.
“Trumperland Is a Safe Place,” much like Biden’s academia only much better and much safer, void of contradictions as long as it is Trump who is making them.
Where to Get What You Want
I have on four occasions been accused of being extreme Right and extreme Left in the same day. If you believe in actual biology, somehow that makes you extreme Right. If you dare say anything against Trump, you are Extreme Left.
The Left and the Right have been radicalized beyond belief. Few can see what’s happening to them,.
If you are looking for Trump cheerleading, Bigots and racists cheering “deport them all” (despite the fact it would crash the economy in one second flat if we did), and are pleased with Trump’s attempts to trash the constitution and make himself king, then go to the cesspools on X or Truth Social and start swimming.
If you seek a Libertarian viewpoint from someone willing to criticize or praise both the Right and Left, someone cannot stand the uniparty lies or DEI or nonbinary nonsense, and someone who is against deport them all madness as well as the Biden’s no border idiocy, then you are in the right place.

Thank you – your politics are exactly like my politcs, and I “call them as I see them.” I say to my Trump Derangement friends, “Trump is like a broken clock, he is right at least twice a day.” My liberal friends generally agree about border control, and cutting waste at least. Trump is his own worst enemy, I wish he would take a page our of Reagan, and adress the American people – tell them his plan, and then stick to it. People like consistancy.
Only industrial policy and low inflation can save U.S. manufacturing, and it is likely that Trump’s second term will do both
Can both parties not come up with better presidential nominees. We need a third party and a better way and have for awhile.
I’m with George Washington on this one – Political parties should be banned, as with Eisenhower he was totally prescient in his farewell speech. His greatest worry has come to be.
Trump has rolled on his back and submitted with respect to tariffs. He better double down on his deportations to compensate, or his approval rating will crash to zero.
Mike, who cares? If people get sensitive to criticisms of politicians because they voted for them, that’s on them. They oughtta stop thinking either political party or politician has any loyalty to anyone but themselves.

Mish, you criticize everyone eventually. Even those you praise initially. Its a deep rooted insecurity. If you cant be real and see it you will die a cynic.
Mish hates all equally. He thinks it makes him fair, but its a burden on his heart, he should unburden himself of.

The proper way to handle these creatures is ridicule. It’s fun, and it makes them shriek louder or run off to somewhere the mean people can’t get to them.
The criticisms of Trump are well founded. What I would like to hear is some well thought of policies that the country could enact to counteract Chinese desire for world dominance. I don’t understand how they were allowed to get into this position to begin with. What were companies thinking when they allowed China to become 50% partners with companies moving there and stealing IP. I am not really opposed to them giving govt subsidies to companies to undercut competition we do benefit from that. In the end I believe there will be an economic and political implosion. Communism and central planning doesn’t work in the long run, Never has. They have a demographic time bomb and a debt time bomb. Eventually Xi will be deposed when the populace has had enough. Communist China has murdered 50 million of their own citizens and to this day they continue to purge when you don’t comply. Xi has surrounded himself with yes men and disagreements via telling the truth are met with elimination. We need to wage a more subtle economic war against them and become more economically self sufficient. Pump by now means is doing this so hopefully smarter people like Bessent will be able to engineer this without the US suffering extensive collateral economic damage.
This just in from ray dalio on this topic, on linkedin .https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/us-china-beautiful-rebalancing-ray-dalio-bms2e/
Regarding China dominance, I have yet to see an in-depth report of how China has infiltrated U.S. universities! The Univ. of OK allowed a Chinese national to head a key science department in exchange for all the Chinese kids who attend OU, and pay full tuition! He knows all things in advance such as what research grants will be approved / funded, etc. madness…
How did this prediction work out for you from 2021 Mike?
Trump and the party can continue to be vindictive, but no good can possibly come from it.
Blind loyalty to Trump will not win over the independents and swing voters. And it is independents and swing voters who decided the 2020 election.
Republicans seriously need to get their act together for the midterms or we may see the most Progressive tax and socialist policy push ever.
If Trump does not stand aside, the party needs to push him aside.
Trump is a lost cause.

I don’t know Mish. You identify as a journalist and are now using journalism big lie, fact checking🤔
Mish’s objectivity was proven to me beginning last summer ’24, when he unbendingly supported Trump in an opinion piece which I thought was one-sided to the extreme, whenTrump appeared as perhaps merely the least-horrible of the two disgusting, evil candidates. Yet, ever since the election, Mish IMO has become a bedrock of factual, fearless analysis. (It’s only natural for the incumbent to invariably become the brunt of constant criticism (recall Rush Limbaugh’s JUSTIFIED nightly, entertaining tirades againt the “Clintonistas”).
Mish’s logic and policy stances have made him the one potential candidate so far who could bridge the American divided electorate and win the next election. Because, firstly, the Dem’s are dead-forever until-unless they give up on appeasing and promoting or even just sustaining their voting block of DEI beneficiaries. The rest of the country, from thoughtful libs to independents to moderate conservatives to evangelicals will never accept the idea that DEI’s deserve or have earned any of the largesse of the US Treasury. DEI at its roots is “all about the money,” it merely poses as a cultural issue. America’s middle-working or small biz class sees right through DEI, and it’s unacceptable to them/us. Similarly, the Dem’s also will never win again so long as they foster non-working immigrants with such as free hotel rooms, credit cards and health care in a crazed effort to recruit them as lifetime Dem voters.
If i read this correctly, you are saying Mish is the only candidate who could possibly win in 2028…
Keep up the great work Mish! You are exactly what this country needs to read and hear! BTW I voted for Thomas Massie the last 2 elections, but would have been thrilled with you as well!
You have been hard on him lately but you always have a good point
The world economy is at a major turning point, which is why we should brace for rapid changes in the economy. The world is moving from having enough goods and services to go around, to not having enough to go around. The dynamics of the economy are very different with not enough to go around.
The hoped-for solution of higher prices doesn’t fix the situation; after a point, adding more buying-power mostly produces inflation. Other solutions are needed. The world economy is reaching what has been called “Limits to Growth.”
https://ourfiniteworld.com/2025/04/24/brace-for-rapid-changes-in-the-economy-the-world-economy-is-reaching-limits-to-growth/
Is it possible for this earth to provide food and shelter for every inhabitant? Or have we “run out”. Our consume and discard mentality might need to change, but, I have no doubt that a system can be devised that provides for all.
Difficult when the wealthy don’t want anyone else to have anything at all.
Our civilization has always suffered from greedheads.
Possibly that is what needs to change! Whenever I comment to people that maybe the “system” needs to change, many automatically come back with, “COMMUNISM????”. And I respond that capitalism and communism aren’t the only possibilities. Then they say, “Well, what else?” Then I remind, that, until the 1960’s, our economic system (capitalistic) seemed to “provide” for society, with citizens able to afford housing, saving, college for their kids if desired, etc, ON ONE INCOME! Then, things changed, and now, you need two decent incomes to thrive and kids are left to raise themselves. We HAD a different system, in which having an “average” job, provided a decent, “average” living. And now it doesn’t.
Ah, the limits to growth in an infinite inflating universe which may be made up of infinite multiverses, or not. Anyway in the inflationary go go years of court approved reverse racism and sexism a bailiff we called Fast Eddy, a fourth generation married Hispanic male, exceeded his limits to growth and services with the Hispanic female court reporter in one of the locked court rooms during lunch time recess. All was going well with their growing relationship until one day a new black female locksmith unlocked the door thinking it was the judge’s chambers and entered the court room briefly and fled flabbergasted at the profiled sight of Fast Eddy in uniform getting a blow job from the kneeling court reporter. However the IA went no where since she was so flabbergasted she couldn’t identify the profiled non-complaining culprits exceeding the consensual sexual limits to their growth in the locked courtroom during lunch hour decorated with the blindfolded Lady of Justice with scale in hand along with the stars and stripes and the state’s bear flag of the now extinct Grizzly with the red star. So much for the limits to services. However the indigenous condors and eagles in hotel California were doing fine until the growth in wind farms whacking the birds 30% of the time with premature checkouts. At four times the cost, the proposed offshore wind farms will only increase whale and dolphin checkouts during their twenty year life cycle, assuming the blades don’t fly off prematurely. .
Mish is a hard-core Libertarian and Trump is far from his beliefs so it is normal that Mish has a lot of posts that criticize Trump’s policies. I don’t mind that at all. It is his blog to do what he wants.
I’m sorry you felt the need to defend your balance re: your comments about Trump. Honest readers know you attack or defend from principles applied reasonably consistently. The dishonest readers will never accept your defense anyway.

Trump wasn’t a “PUB” until he noticed Jeb! (Please Applaud) on one stage and It’s Her Turn on the other. Simple game theory.
Much more profitable to be polarised (either way) – so great respect to your consistency. Not to mention continuing to blog after such an Op!
Mish, you are behaving just like the Founding Fathers wanted when freedom of the press was made a Constitutional amendment: a feedback loop (mild check and balance) for citizens get the government to align with voters’ objectives.
Well, there really is little reason to support the man – he merely represents yet another Manchurian Candidate hellbent on destroying this Nation of ours! As Margaret Kimberly wrote yesterday “Donald Trump is thought of as a terrible president who doesn’t care about humanity. While that assertion is true, he had lots of help from his like-minded predecessors in developing plans for war and other criminality.
I’d be a little surprised if most bloggers and commentators aren’t doing ok financially with Trump in power. Trump is so vocal. I’m thinking Mish’s blog is doing fine. I hope so, even. I’m thinking clicks and ads are ok? It’s wild how, to a certain extent, we hate what brings in the revenue for us. What brings in revenue for Mish? Does being kind increase his revenues? Reasonable controversy and debate increases mish’s revenue, I think and hope!
so we should entertain our worst impulses to increase our profits. what could possibly go wrong?
Blind hatred has been inculcated in far too many of us… not excepting myself from all blame here. Honestly, I would swap my vote from 2024 if I could retroactively change it to a vote for Mish, because he has his views together and they make sense, and would likely be far better for the USA than Trump or Biden have been since 2016.
Kudos to you for not sugar-coating your delivery, and for standing by your principles. Another way to put your idea on admitting mistakes is what they say in the stock market: “It’s okay to be wrong, but it’s not okay to STAY wrong”
no one governs in a vacuum, all leaders are part of a team. roots of the previous leaders remain embedded in the previous decisions, the previous actions, and the previous policies.
Overcoming inertia is difficult, the environment that influenced past decisions and policies dissolves or is eroded by other forces, ie the world changes, we cannot control the change, but sometimes we can influence the direction and intensity.
That is to say the world is fluid, and we need a compass, but to stay the course when the wind has shifted and the storms are from a new direction, is to have a fool for a captain.
yes, things will change, and we may arrive at a completely different destination then our tickets promised. such is the world.
Mish, I read your blog because it is balanced, fair, and ideologically consistent. Although I disagree with you on many issues that follow your libertarian impulse, I appreciate your viewpoints. You have been balanced in your comments about Trump—much more balanced than I could bring myself to be. Having been trained as a commercial banking credit analyst and ultimately a commercial banker who adhered to the three C’s of credit decisions, my first “C” was always character. For me, demonstrated character provides the clearest view into how a person makes decisions when their backs are against the wall. Trump is the poster child for what a failed character looks like when you consider the entirety of his business and personal lives. Thus, I cannot bring myself to give him the benefit of the doubt.
how long have you know Donald Trump personally? Just wondering how many years of up close observation was needed to reach your conclusions…
He has been in the public eye for 40 years, and his personal and business scandals, failures, and successes have been well documented. I do not know him personally, but I know several people who dealt with him when he was actually developing real estate in NYC in the 1980s. When it was built, one of my good friends was Trump’s HVAC direct supplier for Trump Tower.
As a former credit analyst, you do not need to live with someone or be their best friend to assess their character. I call this “demonstrated character” because one can examine a person’s actions, decisions, and choices over a period of time and arrive at a very telling conclusion about character. In the simplest terms, how do you think credit rating agencies arrive at your credit score, informing creditors whether a person is a good or bad credit risk? These agencies look at a person’s history of payments and credit choices.
I would not trust a physician who has never met his patient.
I likewise lack faith in experts who rely on mainstream media, rather than actual intimate knowledge of in person interactions.
The public and private face aspects of persons who make their living in the limelight is well known. Only the insane have the same public and private persona, hence the high levels of rehab and drug and violence problems among celebs who beleive their own press.
I don’t know Donald Trump. I refrain from believing I understand him. I also refrain from thinking I can predict his actions, and the outcomes of those actions.
I do okay in the world without burdening myself with Donald Trump living inside my head rent free. I can only offer it to others, it may work, it may not.
This too shall pass..
the notin that everything ahs to be 50-50 is ridiculous. Trump is a liar and has a view that governing the US should be done like running one of his businesses. So a lot of what he does is a failure.
i agree with Trump on the border. and that’s important. but even there he goes too far. why are we deporting people who have been here for many years, many married to an American with no criminal history that are productive members of society?
sending them to prisons in el salvador, with no due process- this can happen to anyone, even US citizens because without due process there’s no one who can stop it if you say, “hold on a second, i actually am a citizen”. who would you say that to that is objective and can stop it? w/o due process, no one. couple that with the position that the US can’t undo that, if SCOTUS accepted this it would mean a foolproof way for Trump to rid himself of anyone he doesn’t like. and meanwhile MAGA views him as promoting liberty. even when he’s right, his execution is totally wrong.
Mish stays calm in a volatile market which drive his commentators crazy. A war might erupt between India and Afghanistan after terrorists assassinated 26 Indians.
These two nuclear powers, What will Trump do.
errr…. Pakistan, not Afghanistan. Quite a difference between these two countries, my friend.
Angel frequently plays fast and loose with the facts, in fact his postings, the coherent ones, require vigorous fact checking. It speaks volumes that he fails to understand the difference between the “Stand”
Whatever gets him the most attention.
Clearly you’ve been tough on Trump with the tariffs and I 80% agree. Only point I think you miss is that the tariffs on us are prohibitive and, while that raises costs for those countries … it also takes away opportunities for our providers of good and services. But I’ve seen you accused of being anti-Trump and anti-Biden … so that says you’re probably even-handed. When I was anti-Iraq war I was called left wing and when I was unhappy that Obama made no attempt to keep his campaign promise to bring the troops home I was called right-wing (so being anti-war changed wings apparently). Trump (who I voted for) is IMHO trying to move too fast and taking too many risks. At the same time, he has lightened or eliminated tariffs in many countries … and diversifying our supply of cheap products (Vietnam, Taiwan, …) is not a bad thing. In the end, I’m trying to let time tell. If, in the end, our tariffs are not higher and other countries (who have been blocking us for decades) have lower tariffs … then the short pain will be worth the long term gain.
Tariffs, a smaller gov, higher payroll tax collection and lower rates will fill the gov coffer. Results within a few years, not within a hundred days. HDHD dems and their puke media attack Trump daily The resist Trump movement organized by the dems herd together to lie and cheat. Losing their powe and volatility drive them crazy.
Relative to left/right, I have asked the rhetorical question … how many US taxpayer dollars have been spent on these virtue signaling junkets to El Salvador … and how many of these SJWs made it to North Carolina when the storm left these people devastated and the fed left them nothing.
How many taxpayer dollars are spent, ferrying Trump to & from Florida every weekend?
I had no idea Florida was further away than El Salvador. I’ve got to improve my geogrpahy skills
Another political hack full of hubris
Are costly junkets Democratic or Republican? Or just wasted taxpayer dollars?
The SJW junkets of progressives are to bring back an illegal alien MS13 member suspected of human trafficking and known to be a wife beater. It’s a little different.
Probably the same number that don’t say diddly now that Trump’s FEMA has abandoned Arkansas for storm relief.

How are you going to spin this one politically?
You do know Biden’s FEMA spent it all on illegals and gave NC residents who lost everything $750 (unless they had a Trump sign in which case they got nothing). I’m with you, we need MORE MS-13 members who are into human trafficking and wife beating. Screw the folks in NC.
Hyperbole and ad hominem, while often fun and effective in silencing or derailing a discussion, are still weak sauce when it comes to critique. Trump uses hyperbole and ad hominem all the time. In the current case of tariffs, Bessent is the voice of reason. Lutnick, not a fav given his footloose moves around the Cantor Fitzgerald relief funding post 9/11 if I remember correctly. Navarro is an ideologue, which in the end is where we are going, its the tactics which are ineffective driven by such a format. As far as legality goes, one court does not make the law, courts interpret the law and those interpretations are rife with biases which is clearly evident in the current balance of powers tussling. In the end SCOTUS is the only court actually established by the constitution, the lower courts created by congress. It would be positive to see congress reign in some of the gross imbalances, such as judge shopping and lower courts issuing nationwide injunctions. The rest is politics and is largely grotesque. The king argumentation, yeah no, its a rhetorical canard.
You are doing a great job! Keep it up but get healthy first!
Although how did our economy do so well before we let 12 million people in? I think we were doing fine…
People are so anti-immigrant that they cannot see the labor shortage that would/will damage our nation if enough of them are disappeared.
about 100 mln Americans do not work, or hardly work
check out labor stats
50% of ppl do not pay federal income tax
Have you met one of these people? Generally unemployable, and the schools churn out millions more of them every year.

Mish, you have always supported common sense and that’s what really matters. That’s why I read your blog since 2008. Thank you for your work.
But, But, Mike…you’re NOT EXCUSING his bad decisions and policies, which means you have TDS. /sarc.
