Illegal Immigrants Refuse to Leave Encampment Unless Mayor Agrees to 13 Demands

There is one and only one way to handle this. Arrest them and deport them, immediately.

The Daily Wire reports Illegal Immigrants Refuse to Leave Encampment Unless Mayor Agrees to List of Demands

A group of illegal immigrants in Denver is refusing to relocate from a tent encampment to shelters unless Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston agrees to their list of 13 demands.

They are currently living in tents under a bridge and near train tracks as the Denver Human Services Department attempts to get them into city-funded migrant shelters, Fox 31 reported. The illegal immigrants, however, want the city to agree to numerous provisions for migrants staying in shelters, including allowing them to cook their own meals with “culturally appropriate ingredients provided by the City” and giving them free consultations with an immigration lawyer.

“[T]he City will provide on-going legal support in the form of immigration document clinics & including transportation to relevant court dates,” the list of demands states.

List of Demands

  1. Migrants will cook their own food with fresh, culturally appropriate ingredients provided by the City instead of premade meals – rice, chicken, flour, oil, butter, tomatoes, onions, etc… Also people will not be punished for bringing in & eating outside food.
  2. Shower access will be available without time limits & can be accessed whenever – we are not in the military, we’re civilians.
  3. Medical professional visits will happen regularly & referrals/connections for specialty care will be made as needed.
  4. All will receive the same housing support that has been offered to others. They cannot kick people out in 30 days without something stable established.
  5. There needs to be a clear, just process before exiting someone for any reason – including verbal, written & final warnings.
  6. All shelter residents will receive connection to employment support, including work permit applications for those who qualify.
  7. Consultations for each person/family with a free immigration lawyer must be arranged to discuss/progress their cases, & then the City will provide on-going legal support in the form of immigration document clinics & including transportation to relevant court dates.
  8. The City will provide privacy for families/individuals within the shelter.
  9. No more verbal or physical or mental abuse will be permitted from the staff, including no sheriff sleeping inside & monitoring 24/7 – we are not criminals & won’t be treated as such.
  10. Transportation for all children to & from their schools will be provided until they finish in 3 weeks.
  11. No separating families, regardless of if family members have children or not. The camp will stay together.
  12. The City must schedule a meeting with the Mayor & those directly involved in running the Newcomer program ASAP to discuss further improvements & ways to support migrants.
  13. The City must provide all residents with a document signed by a City official in English & Spanish with all of these demands that includes a number to call to report mistreatment.

Zero Tolerance

Who the hell do these people think they are, illegally breaking into the US and making demands?

With no warning, I would announce zero tolerance for immigrants breaking further laws and making demands when they should not be here in the first place.

I would make an example out of them right here, right now, by arresting them and deporting them.

Word would spread in a day. And this would not happen again.

Denver Health at “Critical Point” as 8,000 Migrants Make 20,000 Emergency Visits

On January 24, I noted Denver Health at “Critical Point” as 8,000 Migrants Make 20,000 Emergency Visits

The Denver hospital system is turning away local residents because it is flooded with migrant visits.

If I lived in Denver, I would be seeking to recall the Mayor.

And if I was the governor of Texas looking for a place to bus migrants, Denver looks like a great target.

Bear in mind, I am not a radical at all. I think we need an honest discussion of good immigration policy.

Why Is a Sensible Immigration Policy Discussion So Hard?

O April 24, I asked Why Is a Sensible Immigration Policy Discussion So Hard?

Why is the choice between shutting down the border and no controls at all? And what about demographics? Fertility rates?

Progressive Irony

Progressives want open borders but they also want guaranteed living wages, clean energy, slave reparations, a right to shelter, a right to free health care, and net zero carbon.

The goals are incompatible.

Meanwhile, I have seriously had enough of this. Immediately deport any illegal immigrants further breaking laws, making demands, or protesting.

Zero Tolerance! Send a clear message, now.

LOL. The term didn’t exist even 20 years ago.
This is NOT the voice of destitute foreigners struggling with English and happy to have made it to the US. These people are all pawns in culture wars organized and financed by Americans.

Mish:” Bear in mind, I am not a radical at all.”

It is the Democrats that are being radical, even flying illegal aliens into the country, while hiding it from the American people. Democrats were fine with it, until it started negatively affecting them. Now they are worried it could cost them the election this year. A substantial percentage of Hispanic American citizens are turning against the Democrats. Boxing promoter Don King just endorsed Trump as well. Democrats are even losing more of the black vote.

A possible immigration policy template for the US to follow:

Does not this seem like a sound immigration policy where the only disagreements would be immigration numbers?

Admittedly Im not an expert on immigration, is the US immigration policy modeled after France?

List of Demands – My reaction…

– No Food is allowed in the area. You are here illegally as guest, and against the will of the majority of American Citizens. No Exceptions, or you will be immediately removed. No questions asked.
– Shower access will be strictly monitored for every single individual, for time, access, and when, with zero exceptions. No exceptions or you will immediately be removed with no questions asked.
– Medical professionals will visit, when they have time, and/or for some emergencies. American Citizens always come first and foremost.
– You will receive housing after all Legal Citizens in America, have housing, and not 1 second sooner.
– The process is what we tell you it is, and if not followed to the letter, you will immediately be removed, and no questions asked.
– All shelter employees will stay in the area and follow all rules. You leave the area for any reason, and you will be immediately removed and no questions asked.
– One lawyer will be permitted access 1 day a month. A list of times and schedules per individual will be posted with no exceptions.
– Minimal privacy will be supplied, but only when absolutely required. Otherwise you must be in the open to see at all times, or you will be immediately removed with no questions asked.
– You will be treated by the staff, as you deserve to be treated by your actions and attitudes. With a 3 strike rule in place, you will be immediately removed with no questions asked after the third strike.
– Transportation will be provided for children for school only. A 3 strike rule in place, so on your third missed bus, you will be removed immediately with no questions asked.
– Accommodation will be provided as we see fit, and partially based on availability, including attitudes, sex, age etc.
– No meetings are allowed to be requested, and we will provide you with any needed information as we see fit.
– No demands may be requested at any time, but written request will be reviewed and answered as time permits. Push the issue, and you will be removed immediately with no questions asked.

Zero Tolerance and All Removed for any reason above, will immediately be deported with no questions asked.

This isn’t that hard at all to accomplish, and in fact is as simple as can be to be quite honest.it’s called boundaries, rules, structure, or whatever you want to refer to as Order.

We are in a labor shortage which is highly inflationary. Even 10 years ago Republicans were openly against immigration reform because a steady supply of cheap slave labor is good for business. They are likely still pro immigration but only behind closed doors. Even Mish knows this and has written how recent immigration/labor laws in Florida are highly inflationary. You want the price of food to come down? Maybe we should have more people to work the fields. This goes for many other fields including construction, landscaping etc

And here is the impact.
https://www.capradio.org/news/npr/story?storyid=1247347310

“The Florida Policy Institute estimates that this immigration law could cost the state economy $12.6 billion in its first year. A spokesperson for Florida Governor Ron Desantis told NPR, quote, “Governor Desantis signed the most ambitious anti-illegal immigration law in the country to protect Floridians” and that Florida can still maintain a robust economy. But Ron Hetrick, a senior economist at Lightcast, a labor market analytics company, says the state already has a serious labor shortage, even if just a fraction of the estimated nearly 1 million undocumented immigrants are forced to leave.”

It’s been a great experiment. Kick out all those “illegals” and watch the direct impact ($12.6 billion). These problems however will grow exponentially but only time will tell. And now you know why nothing is done about the issue.

Shortages are an artificial construct and do not exist in a free market. The problem we have is a shortage of pay, not a shortage of workers. CEOs making millions are seemingly terrified of raising wages a few bucks an hour. If you can’t sell your product or service at a higher price, the market is telling you that you aren’t welcome here. Price in a free market is the signal that controls everything else.

There is only one source of inflation: and increase in the quantity of currency. If you increase the quantity of currency in circuluation, naturally prices of everything, including labor, must rise. Real wages continue to hold flat or drop. That is impossible if there is a shortage of labor.

In 1910, the average worker earned about 30 ounces of gold per year, on which they paid zero income or payroll tax. Now the median worker earns about 18 ounces of gold per year, and pays both income and payroll taxes (though partially offset by government transfers).

Priced in gold, real wages are down significantly. There is zero worker shortage.

And 10,000 boomers retire each day and 5,000 more die each day. That’s a great deal of labor depletion not to mention that without people paying into social security and medicare it goes broke that much faster.

It’s ok to close the border, just end social security and medicare at the same time. The two are permanently linked at this point in time.

Most of the immigrants coming across the border are coming in “legally” under various programs, so they can’t be deported.

You can plug up every hole and build a 100% secure wall along the entire Mexican border, but that won’t do a thing to stop millions coming through the legal entry points.

These aren’t immigrants. They are migrants. Not the same thing. This is what happens when you support the wrong regimes in Central America or say we should not do anything until the problems comes to us. Well the problem has come and continues to. The libertarian foreign policy is to do nothing until the problem comes here. This is exactly why dictators need to be overthrown and democracies need to be supported at all costs. Is it any wonder that the most migrants are from countries that have been taken over by dictators or have been invaded (Ukraine).

Agree regarding immigration reform but what’s happening now isn’t sustainable. We need to work on fostering democracy in these countries so people don’t want to flee their home country. As an immigrant who left a Marxist Asian country that was aligned with the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 80s, I totally get it. My home country didn’t change until they embraced a democratic capitalist economy that worked for everyone. Not changing the long term path of the countries these people are fleeing isn’t going to change anything.

The US needs to double down on democracy and fairer version of capitalism and remove dictatorships and autocrats. Keep championing free and fair elections everywhere. Our system is the best system which is why people continue to try and come to the US at all costs.

No different from the US, Latin America is pretty much all democracies. They all have weird rituals involving “votes” every few years.

And; again just like the US; they’re all manureholes……

Only real difference is: They’re more fertile. Hence have growing populations of young people capable of moving.

Also; “we” were once a first world country. Recent enough that there are still some remnants of that bygone era left. Which “they”; again like current day Americans; wants to grab a piece of. After all, per current developments; in a few decades it will all be gone.

Many have been sent back already and just come back. That’s a failure of foreign policy. They aren’t leaving their home country bc they want to. They will continue to come back until we start helping them fix the problems in their home country. That needs to start with denouncing autocratic and military regimes and installing democracies. The problem just doesn’t go away when you deport people.

“Need to build a Labor Party to begin to change things”

In a country where the only ones doing any real labor are immigrants? While the “natives” are wheelchair bound, drooling and/or falling down airplane steps…..

Good luck with that.

In the even remotely longer-than-next-week term: Immigration follows fertility and demographic gradients. Not weird-scary-stuff gradients of the “my democracii can beat up yours” kind. People will stop net flowing here, when we start matching their kid count.

Or, more precisely; their “kids-growing-up-to-be-old-enough-to-migrate” count. Europeans never really beat others at pure birth rates. But better access to food and “health care” allowed them to colonize the world back in the civilized era because they had superior numbers, and “quality” of “military age” people.

Now they/we are on the losing end demographically. And hence are, just as native Americans once were, being overran by populations with greater numbers. No amount of drooling by wheelchair warriors dependent on Mexican caretakers and Colombian hookers will ever change that.

When you allow people to break your rules, and then give them aid (food, shelter, medical care, etc) for doing so it shouldn’t come as a suprise that they begin to make even more demands of you. They view us as weak chumps, and weakness, in this context, invites bullying.

Lazy arse Reps want to use this political football to campaign against, NOT actually fix the entire problem with REAL Laws that address these issues we have had for DECADES.

The only reason 10,000,000 migrants were allowed to enter the U.S. is to help elect Democrats. However, this Democrat scheme will likely backfire.

Easy fix. Deport them all.

Mish, I disagree. We should immediately deport ALL illegal immigrants, not just those who are “further breaking laws”.

They’re mostly NOT illegal, no matter what the lamebrains at FOX want to believe or whip up their propaganda.
FIX the problem with Comprehensive Immigration Reform, instead of trying to use this for political advantage.

They are already issuing ids to illegal immigrants at tax payers expense so they can register and vote. This is how muddy the waters.

Mosh I totally agree, I especially liked the demand of not having a sheriff on premises at all times as we are not criminals, well yes they are criminals as they are in our country illegally. Deport them asap!

NOPE. FOX doesn’t know shite. Most are here legally seeking asylum. The Republicans REFUSE to Fix the Problem with Comprehensive Immigration Reform. They have had three or four decades to make this happen. Instead they want to whip their base into a Frenzy to get votes and spew hate.
Dems suck too…but would at least come to the table to fix the problem.
Both parties suck.

Asylum is to be sought in the first country one enters. Thus they are not legally seeking asylum in the U.S. They are seeking economic opportunity in the U.S.

Comprehensive immigration reform is a political buzz phrase. You ignore that Democrats are whipping their base into a frenzy, as they seek political advantage from illegal immigration.

You forgot to add the destruction of Israel to the demands of the progressives.

I’m pretty sure that grifty lawyers came up with these demands before consulting the immigrants.

Yup, I’m going to break into your house … and when you come home, I’m going to hand you my list of demands. You better get on it or you are a real xenophobe

It won’t happen, Mish. The idea is to get Democrat voters here in larger numbers than bail from the domestic deterioration. Enough still believe the government BS that we can just print the money to help them. A corollary is to destroy the American way of life so that it can’t be salvaged. It truly is an invasion, and an existential crisis.

Cut the crud Drama Queen. FIX the Problem with Comprehensive Immigration Reform and 95% of these issues go away. Republicans can’t even tie their shoes anymore, much less pass comprehensive legislation.
Dems aren’t really much better but can at least pass a bipartisan bill.

If I made these demands to my parents, I would be booted onto the street. These illegal immigrants (don’t forget “illegal”) should be placed in cannons and shot back to the country from which they came.

FIX the Problem with Comprehensive Immigration Reform and this gets solved.

Is that mayor a “sanctuary city” dude who 9s now asking Congress for money to support the illegal alien criminal invaders?

How soon do we become Germany where if you point out government statistics showing Afghan immigrants have a much higher crime rate than native born Germans and the whistleblower is arrested, fined $6,000 and given a criminal record?

It’s bad enough the school system is churning out little Marxists that feel entitled to everyone else’s money so they can spend their time sipping mochaccinos on the beach as they solve the world’s problems through the power of national and cultural self-immolation….Now we have to suffer the demands of foreign Marxists too?
