The Real Reason Trump Cancelled “Project Freedom” After One Day

Trump said Pakistan requested postponement. But that was a lie. It’s all lies all the time.

Allies Deny Trump Airspace

NBC reports Trump’s abrupt U-turn on a plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz came after backlash from allies

Trump surprised Gulf allies by announcing “Project Freedom” on social media Sunday afternoon, the officials said, angering leadership in Saudi Arabia. In response, the Kingdom informed the U.S. it would not allow the U.S. military to fly aircraft from Prince Sultan Airbase southeast of Riyadh or fly through Saudi airspace to support the effort, the officials said.

A call between Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman did not resolve the issue, the two U.S. officials said, forcing the president to pause Project Freedom in order to restore U.S. military access to the critical airspace.

Other close Gulf allies were also caught off guard; the president spoke with leaders in Qatar after the effort had already begun.

A White House official said in a statement when asked about some Gulf state leaders being caught off guard by the announcement of the U.S. effort to help ships transit the Strait of Hormuz, “Regional allies were notified in advance.”

A Middle Eastern diplomat said the U.S. did not coordinate Project Freedom with the Omanis until after Trump made the announcement.

In his post, Trump said Project Freedom would be “paused for a short period of time to see whether or not” an agreement to resolve the war “can be finalized and signed.”

What’s the Message?

  1. Trump is a liar
  2. Trump does not consult allies or anybody else, he just does
  3. Saudi Arabia is fearful of retaliation by Iran

Trump keeps stating the US has all the cards and Iran has no military remaining.

But if the US had all the cards, the strait would be open and Saudi Arabia would not be fearful of an attack by Iran.

A 14-point Peace Plan

Trump says Iran is ready to sign a 14-point peace plan. Iran denies that.

Regarding the war (excuse me it’s now a skirmish) Trump told PBS “I think it’s got a very good chance of ending, and if it doesn’t end, we have to go back to bombing the hell out of them. ”

Who Is desperate for a Deal?

The political pressure is mounting on Trump ahead of the November midterm elections, when Republicans will be fighting to preserve their narrow margin in the House and majority in the Senate.

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Iranian leaders Wednesday and said it was critical the war ended as soon as possible.

“We believe that a comprehensive ceasefire is urgently needed, that a resumption of hostilities is not acceptable, and that it is particularly important to remain committed to dialogue and negotiations,” Wang said in a video of the meeting accessed by The Associated Press.

In a post on social media, a senior Iranian parliament official called the latest proposal a “wish list until it becomes a reality.”

“Americans will not obtain through a failed war what they failed to gain in face-to-face negotiations, Ebrahim Rezaei said on X. “Iran has its finger on the trigger and is ready; if they do not surrender and grant the necessary concessions, or if they or their devilish henchdog allies try to act mischievously, we will deliver a harsh and regret-inducing response.”

Trump’s Gyrations on the War Leave Even Rubio Out of Sync

Even in the administration, nobody knows what’s going on.

The New York Times reports Trump’s Gyrations on the War Leave Even Rubio Out of Sync

When Secretary of State Marco Rubio took to the lectern of the White House press briefing room on Tuesday, he seemed to revel in serving as the administration’s chief spokesman of the day.

He smiled, joked and jabbed gently at reporters, calling on them by the color of their blazers. He took on a range of questions on topics from rising gas prices to Cuba to his upcoming visit with the pope. He invoked the lyrics of ’90s hip-hop songs to describe U.S. adversaries.

And when it came to the war in Iran, or Operation Epic Fury as President Trump branded it in February when the United States joined Israel in striking the country, Mr. Rubio confidently described the state of play in a conflict whose status has been increasingly muddy.

“The operation is over,” Mr. Rubio declared. “Epic Fury is — as the president notified Congress — we’re done with that stage of it. We’re now on to this Project Freedom.”

But as most things go in Mr. Trump’s orbit, what appeared definitive was fleeting.

Just three hours later, the president announced that Project Freedom, the day-old mission he announced on Sunday to help guide ships out of the strait, would be paused “for a short period of time.”

Then on Wednesday morning, Mr. Trump suggested in a social media post that the war was not, in fact, over. Only if “Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to,” he wrote, the “legendary Epic Fury will be at an end.”

“If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before,” Mr. Trump added.

It was the administration’s latest U-turn in what has been a stream of chaotic and confusing messages about the U.S. posture and its objectives in the war.

Throughout the war, Mr. Trump’s positions have changed by the sentence. He has described the conflict as, alternately, a “war,” an “excursion” and, most recently again on Wednesday, a “skirmish.” He has gone from saying that the United States had already “won” the war, to threatening to wipe out Iran’s civilization if its government did not meet more demands. He has said that Iran has no leaders left, but that he is in communication with some who are “desperate” for a deal. He threatened that bombings would continue, only to extend a cease-fire at the last minute.

Trump Cancels “Operation Freedom” But We Have a new Goal

On May 5, I commented Trump Cancels “Operation Freedom” But We Have a new Goal

It took all of one day for Operation Freedom to fail.

Rubio: “The facts clearly bear out, the United States of America holds all the cards. … Our preference is for the Strait to be open, to the way it’s supposed to be, back to the way it was. … That’s what we have to get back to, and that’s the goal here.”

The new goal is to return to the status quo of things before Trump started this stupid war,

If this sounds idiotic, it’s because it is idiotic.

Lies From Axios

Trust Me Bro

The Concept of Negotiation

“The concept of ‘negotiations’ requires, at the very least, a genuine attempt to engage in discussions with a view to resolving the dispute,” Baqaei wrote, quoting an ICJ judgment from 2011. “It needs ‘good faith’ — meaning that ‘negotiations’ is not ‘disputation’; nor is it ‘dictation’, ‘deception’, ‘extortion’ or ‘coercion’.”

The post is a thinly veiled accusation that Washington’s approach — combining military blockade with maximalist demands and surrender — fails to meet the basic legal definition of negotiation under international law.

Trump’s visit to China was intended to get concessions out of them by showing how powerful the US is. The US just used a new Tomahawk missile launcher in Asia that they wanted China to witness.
https://www.newsweek.com/us-fires-tomahawk-missile-amid-tensions-with-china-over-pacific-war-games-11913808

But that threat is less effective if the US military hasn’t been able to defeat Iran. I think Trump will cancel his trip out there, or send someone like JD or Marco in his place.

I love my country, but fear living in the digital prison this government is building.

The First Amendment should be enough to stop this theocratic war. It is supposed to protect us from the establishment or promotion of any specific religion.

Yet here we are, fighting another war for the advancement of Israel while alienating all of our allies and trading partners. Trump is actively destroying the America I grew up in and has destroyed the Republican Party.

And Chabad / Zionist lunatics taking down the US with them.

“The result is that Israel is succeeding at one thing: drawing the wrath of the world upon itself. The fundamental tenets of Jewish religion, which are justice and compassion, are being drowned out by those seeking redemption through sin and the sad by-product of all this is a rise in antisemitism. In fullness of time, this could result in the realization of Henry Kissinger’s 2012 prophecy: that in ten years’ time, Israel would no longer exist. Israel survived ten years, but without U.S. support, it might not survive much longer”

Off topic, but this is a well written article on why the US must protect the purchasing power of the dollar and suffer the short-term consequences and why our politicians probably will not do the right thing yielding suffering the consequences very long term. The probable reason for the long-term suffering associated with the monetary debasement rate is the wealth of the nation gets transferred from the productive private sector to mostly the non-productive public sector, or said another way, the public sector strangles its funding private sector for the short-term convenience of the elected political class.

Correct:

The entire Middle East and Asia are targeted in many ways:

  1. The threat to food supplies for three billion people is becoming more real by the day. Denying the transit of fertilizers and driving up the cost of fuel via war and Hormuz closure has been effective in reducing plantings of rice. In many farming areas of India, fuel and fertilizer is simply not available at any price.
  2. Helium production has lost 35% of global supply and this directly affects medical technology and chip production outside the US.
  3. Sulphur and sulphuric acid production is down 50% and this affects mining operations of many types and especially copper.
  4. Oil, distillates and Gas? Disruptions of 15 to 30% of global supply. Asian supply is down about 65%.

Note to self: Many other nations are producing oil and gas now, so other supplies are coming on line and making up for some of the gulf shut ins.

IIRC, a non-citizen cannot buy land in Canada, but they can enter a long-term lease.

I don’t know how mineral rights work there, but in a lot of countries, mineral rights belong to the government.

So, if Saudi Arabia’s motivation for denying the US access to its airspace to attempt to force open the Hormuz Strait was fear of Iranian retaliation, then certainly it will not allow its airspace to be used for direct attacks on Iran.

If this is indeed true, than this “war” is effectively over and the US has lost. If the US can not rely on Saudi airfields for bombers, or tankers to refuel Aircraft Carrier planes, it has limited ways to to make good on Trump’s threats of a massive bombing campaign. Precision bombing by Carrier fighter / bombers would no longer be possible at the distance from which they are operating, leaving only missiles and indiscriminate “dumb” bombing by long range planes. Close air support for a land or naval attack would no longer be possible.

It seems to me that the Saudis just negated Trump’s hysterical threats of of a massive bombing campaign if Iran dose not capitulate. This is a very significant development.

You’re not missing anything. Iran is “teaching” Middle East nations how to stand up to the US the only way they know how, kick them in the nuts (pocketbook/world economy). There was an article somewhere about a strait in Asia that would serve as a crippling chokepoint for Asia/Australia, don’t remember the name but I am sure people over there are getting ideas.

Sometimes what we are told about these chokepoints doesn’t seem to work out. I thought, believing what the media said, that the hindrance of trade through the Red Sea by the Houthis would be a disaster. But the ships just sailed blithely around Africa. Looking at it from Australia, I’m pretty sure that shipping will find lots of ways through the Indonesian islands without going through Malacca if they have to. It may be serious for Singapore, because Singapore depends on trade through that strait for its existence. But I doubt that it will affect anyone else very much.

As I understand it, Singapore has come out very strongly against letting Persia charge tolls.

There once was a time when a lot of thugs built little castles along the Rhine in order to extract tolls from shipping through the Rhine Gorge. Napoleon cleaned them all out.

We’ve also learned in the last 4 years that the 2 or 3 alleged world superpowers militarily actually aren’t. Russia bogged down in Ukraine. U.S. can’t even keep a sliver of water opened due to heaviliy sanctioned non nuclear-armed Iran. And despite all the hype China hasn’t tried to retake Tawian. That’s a lot of GDP money that might have been spent elsewhere given the results on the “skirmishfield”.

We’ve also learned to believe no one as Iran has proven they could strike further than Europe thought–proving they also can’t be trusted, despite what this blog implies where only the US can’t be trusted.

We’ve learned allies are not really allies when it becomes real.

We’ve seen the stock market decouple from its role as a discounting and risk-weighting mechanism.

And given all the inflation we’ve seen the Fed accept higher inflation base rates as they should not have lowered rates until the “quest for 2” had been accomplished.

This is not my grandparents’ US but it hasn’t been for quite some time. With interest at $1 Trillion the solutions moving forward are not just all bad but all catastrophically bad.

2 or 3 alleged world superpowers militarily actually aren’t”. I think this is a reach. A lot of what we think about power is a reflection of MSM propaganda and Western lens of what power is. Plodding attrition warfare is portrayed as weakness because territory is not being taken quickly. So not taking Taiwan is weakness? China’s position re: Taiwan is actually strengthening because they see the U.S. expend its precision arsenal in the Iran war and reach its limits of conventional power projection.

– NBC reports Trump’s abrupt U-turn on a plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz came after backlash from allies. > Is this the same NBC (along with ABC & CBS) that After the MRC analyzed ABC’s “World News Tonight,” “NBC Nightly News” and “CBS Evening News” from Jan. 20 through April 9 and found 899 stories that discussed President Trump or the Trump administration. The media watchdog group found that 92.2% of the coverage was negative compared to only 7.8% positive. Why anyone would actually Listen, Watch, and be fooled by this obvious nonsense. Only Private News can be trusted, and that’s suspect to a degree, but way less than the National Shill News that now exist in America.

– Trump surprised Gulf allies by announcing “Project Freedom” on social media Sunday afternoon, angering leadership in Saudi Arabia. In response, the Kingdom informed the U.S. it would not allow the U.S. military to fly aircraft from Prince Sultan Airbase southeast of Riyadh or fly through Saudi airspace to support the effort. > There call, so when things get better, and they will, I wouldn’t help them out in anyway as a thank you to there help for us. If things get worse for them, I would say “So Sorry” your call! I obviously can’t verify this, but: “Regional allies were notified in advance.” So there is that little rid bit… which also explains the Media Lies.
What’s the Message?

– Media Lies, but we have known that since the Media came into prominence. Duh!

– Trump does not consult allies or anybody else, he just does > As reported by the Media which we know lies and a lot, and towards Trump in Extremely High % (Roughly 85% of the time it appears). Actually according to Administration, “Regional allies were notified in advance.” So believe whom you want, but it is what it is…

– Saudi Arabia is fearful of retaliation by Iran. > Of course they are, is this supposed to be breaking news?

– Trump keeps stating the US has all the cards and Iran has no military remaining. > Small boats are not considered military I don’t believe, but even if they were, they are the lowest possible form of military that does exist in Iran at the moment.

– But if the US had all the cards, the strait would be open and Saudi Arabia would not be fearful of an attack by Iran. > Iran is simply playing games with small boats in the strait, and they do have some projectiles left, and some drones and that’s about it. Saudi Arabia is worried about their oil set up, and Iran trying hard to blow it up, unsuccessfully so far. They have help as well, but of course they are fearful, it’s energy, and so is America, which is entirely the reason we are in this War to begin with. No Nuclear, No control of the Strait, and No enriched Uranium. Everyone has known this from the very start!

– Just in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman also denied Trump’s access to Airspace/bases for the Project Freedom. > If true, which is highly suspect from the MSM Obviously, then they do so at their own peril.
P.S. By these Countries doing so, they must not realize, that they are painting a Bullseye on themselves. If you were Iran, whom would you hit first to cause Trumps Administration Chaos? ALL the names above very obviously. Theses Arab Countries don’t appear to be the best decision makers…

– A 14-point Peace Plan > Too full of semantics, innuendos, he said, they said, she said…

– Who Is desperate for a Deal? > Everyone hoping, and wishing for Peace!!!

– The political pressure is mounting on Trump ahead of the November midterm elections. > No more than any other middle term election, and far less than the original bid for the office. In fact zero comparison there! If this sounds idiotic, it’s because it is idiotic.

Trump just jawboned the price of oil down $20 – and everyone complains that he is a LIAR. I watch the ships – no movement – no change is reality. THE MEDIA IS NOT REALITY. They are paid by the traders making money off your fear and greed. Learn to look past the media and look for the truth in both Trump and the media. The trading range for oil is established at $110 to $90. 20% fear and greed premium.

What concerns me the most is the belief that Trump must tell the story you want to hear. He represents his side in the best light. (Oil down by $20). Iran represents their side. Do you think the Iranians in their media are telling anything, but they are winning especially since they shut down the internet.

History is written by the victors. The moralism shown in the media (Mish) is just to empty your pocket and steal your labor; 20% fear and greed premium. Here is the question for you. Considering the moron and his administration are monumentally incompetent, the percentage of negative coverage should be insignificantly different than 100%.

I didn’t think it was possible, but this administration is the most corrupt in US history. The blatant out in the open insider trading by folks in this admin (yes.I believe Trump is in on it) while people are struggling to pay for gas, housing, etc is a sight to.be behold. Disgusting…..

If insider trading is illegal, does that mean there could be future investigation/prosecution for culprits under a different future government? Especially with such enormous profits being made.

Highly doubtful, as many from all sides of fence, would be in trouble. While they eat their own, that’s only to move one or maybe two out of the way (Ex. Harris Appointment). While the future Government is new and will then be in charge, they were groomed, then trained, then tested, and if they passed all of those, and check off a box or two, they are fit to be a candidate!!! They don’t pan out, they become one that does get eaten…

Disgusting is a mild way of putting it. Amazing what people will put up with.

Its Groundhog Day again and there are still people out there who don’t believe the President is an incompetent and ignorant circus barker…..amazing

The damage to US international business over the long term is going to be severe. US citizens are going to see a much lower standard of living when the US doesn’t dominate the global economy anymore – its already happening and this clown is just accelerating the process, it probably past the point of being fixed

The Iranians are going to keep him pinned down until he just has to walk away

He’s not getting off that easy… at the very least the Iranians will demand he perform the truffle shuffle for them every evening until his rotting guts give out on him.

It’s the naval blockade, stupid. Cf. The Rolling Stones and time. Not on Iran’s side. therefore, not on China’s side. Keep it simple, avoid the butt hurt.

Why? Iran is self-sufficient and has rail lines running to China and Russia. They don’t have to sell oil.

TRUMP is….2 for 2

Term 1: Operation Warp Speed — get’s faked out by a virus with a 99.98% survival rate and destroys the economy

Term 2: Operation Epic Fuckup — does the greatest self-own in presidential history, starting a war based on a fake nuclear threat at the behest of Israel, economic toll incoming.

The parallels are amazing, in Term 2 the role of Fauci being played by Bibi

I’d go with 99.75-99.80% but your point is taken. Of course, the survival rate would have been even higher if repurposed drugs and certain supplements hadn’t been suppressed. They needed to make sure no other therapies were available to get an Emergency Use Authorization for their novel “vaccines” – which, oddly, had been underway prior to the known emergence of SARS Cov2. Plus Fauci wanted NIH and Gilead Sciences to reap profits from their remdesivir – which he was touting in March, 2020 despite there having been zero double blind clinical trials. All while he has admitted to taking 9,000 IU’s of vitamin D a day – which is a lot for a dwarf – without advising the population to do the same.

It’s very concerning to me that Trump is nowhere in sync with any of the allies we supposedly have. When these allies can simply inform the US not to overfly their airspace. That shows the world they are resisting being told what to do by Trump. That isn’t the way to foster cooperation with other countries and shows Trump is stuck in the Persian Gulf with no comprehensive plans to change that situation. What a mess Trump has got himself into. The longer the situation is not resolved. The lack of commerce through the Gulf will create financial problems for the entire world. Courtesy of DJT and his hubris. Not wanting to be drawn into a long-running conflict with any kind of ground troop action will severely limit the options when control of the waterway is at stake. Iran has taken a pounding and is still shooting back at ships and the other Gulf countries. As long as that might occur. The strait will be closed to commerce.

Much more predictable than concerning, really. Anyone who is surprised by this haven’t been paying attention to the “annex canada, annex greenland, annex panama canal” and all other ally alienating rhetoric that has been coming out for a long time from this administration.

Characteristics of an Ally:
– Supportive Role.
– Being involved in ongoing education about the challenges faced by the group they support.
– Engagement: Allies participate in actions.
– The personal dedication of the ally to the cause influences how long they remain engaged.
– The specific circumstances and needs of the marginalized group can affect the ally’s involvement.
– As social issues evolve, the role of an ally may change, requiring continued adaptation and support.

Typical Duration:
– Short-term: Some allies may engage for a specific event or campaign.
– Long-term: Others may commit to a sustained partnership, actively supporting the community over many years.
– Allyship is often viewed as a continuous journey, where individuals learn, grow, and adapt their support over time.

Nothing out of the ordinary going on here…

And Israel has maneuvered itself into the #1 most hated country position in the world. Zionists + City of London to blame for all of this. POTUS remote controlled muppet as obvious to everyone.

“What a mess Trump has got himself into.”

You should have wrote “What a mess Trump has got us into.

After all, he walks away from this Operation Epic Fuckup as a billionaire, while you, me and the rest of the goyim will be paying the tab for decades.

Well. at least we can count on our Republican Congressmen to step up, be courageous and impeach him for pure stupidity. That will show the public that they are capable of governing this great nation, and will guarantee their continued control of both houses. /s

That and probably because Iran shot down at least 1, possibly 2 KC-135 tankers meant to support the operation Freedom.

Trump only “leverage” now is the blockade, since open miliary action against has now been vetoed by the Gulf allies.

I doubt the blockade will be enough to break Iran, so Trump will either endure persistent high prices due to oil shortages, or humiliating concessions to Iran in order to re-open the Strait.

Congrats to him for managing to make every preceding president look like a master of strategy and competence in comparison.
